This hotel is less than a block from the main train station in Florence and is very well appointed and comfortable. We stayed in a corner room with windows facing two direction. My husband and I had a king size bed (really two twins made up together) and they brought in a separate bed for my daughter that they placed in an alcove in the room. The breakfast was fabulous. It's in a nice location near reasonably priced and authentic restaurants--not like some of the tourist traps that overcharge for bad food in the main section of Florence.

This hotel is like a bulldog wearing lipstick. Every thing is just very mediocre. The bar service slow to nonexistent. Wifi slow. Decor wasn't remotely attractive in our room. Staff at desk and buffet very courteous and willing to help.

A very nice and comfortable hotel just one block from the train station.

very nice hotel. good bed, beautiful decor. Good breakfast. only problem is there WIFI dosent work at all. And you have to have them to call for the bartender. he dosent stay at the bar- which is inconvenient

Breakfast staff was very friendly and breakfast was excellent. Room was good. Only complaint was front desk staff provided wrong information about the bus system. Wanted to catch a bus to Fiesole. Were told you pay 1.50 euro per person to the driver. We presented our money to the driver who simply waived us onto the bus and pointed to the back. There was no one there to collect our money nor a ticket machine. before we arrived at our stop two ataf agents boarded the bus asking for tickets. We explained our situation but the whole thing appeared to be a tourist scam. threatened to be taken into police custody by ataf agents #4908 and #5255 and told to pay 100 euro. The whole thing looked like a set up between the bus driver and the ataf agents. Even locals on the bus were yelling at the agents backing our story and to just give us a warning as we were simply tourists that did not speak Italian but were seeking assistance and following instructions from our hotel front desk staff and the bus driver. Apparently at the destination, the corruption continued as many people were waiting at bus stop without tickets assuming that they could be purchased on the bus as the kiosks beside the bus stop did not sell tickets. The ataf agents proceeded to issue fines to everyone at the bus stop stating that they should have walked two blocks up the hill to buy tickets in the grocery store. How realistic is it for a tourist to know that?

Updated, very large rooms by Euro standards, staff was very helpful and excellent breakfast.

I love this hotel. This is my third stay here at this property. I choose it because of its' convenience and charm. it is a two minute walk from the Sta. Maria Novella train station. No need to take a cab! The staff is warm and helpful. Though I have had more elaborate breakfasts at other properties, it is good with a sufficient variety of choices. The rooms in the lowest category may be small by American standards but they are lovely and comfortable. This stay I booked a mid range room which was one of the largest I ever stayed in Italy. This is an outstanding boutique hotel. (Note I stay in hotels in the US over 150 nights per year. I also noticed this was chosen as a hotel for tour groups including the Marriott Vacation Club on this trip.). Great value!

We needed a place for the night near the train as we were leaving early in the am. It was close, quite and comfortable, with a great breakfast. Easy area to walk around.

great location close to train station and all the major attractions large room nice breakfast

hotel is old but nice ,best location and good staff

We were very happy with everything here. The room is big and the marble bathroom is beautiful. The location is wonderful, close to the train station and easy to go to all major attractions in Florence. We highly recommend this hotel.

If you're wanting to explore but just want a nice, clean, convenient place to stay.. This is perfect! The price was great, the Wi-Fi was free, everything was clean and suitable for a place you're really only going to shower and sleep in! Plus, there was free breakfast which was nice. Staff was great.

This hotel is just steps away from the train station but is away from the heavily-walked main streets, so it is quiet and safe. The suite we had for us and our two kids was huge and offered plenty of room to spread out. The breakfast was also great and the lobby and outdoor patio have lots of room to relax.

Very nice hotel. Room was very clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful - great customer service. Whenever we needed any travel help, museum tickets, etc., they cheerfully assisted us with it. I can't say enough good things about them. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the buffet staff was also excellent. These people know how to run a good hotel! Highly recommend!

We had a room with marble bathroom with all amenities. There was no arm-chairs for watching TV in the room. Breakfast is served in the hotel restorant with a reasonable variety of foods. There is a comfortable lounge down stairs with newspapers, one in the English language and a computer with free internet access.

The hotel was very welcoming. Just a few short blocks from the train station. Our room was very clean, very pretty and the breakfast was good. The staff helped with my electrical adapter, they had a box full of different kinds to share!

Close to the train station, but not close enough to be noisy. The hotel was beautiful, the beds were super comfortable and the rooms were elegant. The breakfasts were fine, nothing remarkable, but we loved our stay there. You could throw open the windows and shutters and let all the sunshine and Italian way of life into your room!

I took my mom on this trip to celebrate her recent birthday - so I went more upscale than I usually might. And the hotel is lovely (pretty / clean / nicely appointed) - i.e. great. The property's location is perfect for those taking tours (CAF). Very close to where many walking/bus tours start - we never needed a cab - and my mom is 80. Breakfast was good - and folks that praised the coffee were right on target. BUT we were in room 522 though (Camila suite) - which is actually in an annex for hotel - when we were first showed the room - i was a bit off put - very dark - then I realized shutters could be opened - and that fixed the dark cave like sense. Biggest problem - we were under rooms not part of the Albani hotel. On Saturdany night we thus suffered through a loud night of partying above us - screaming / dancing on wood floors that really reverberated - and it went on for two hours (mid-night to two am) . I called the front desk but they said there was nothing that they could do - in the morning - they said sorry and we could move rooms - but we only had one more night. PS Gym is great as well.
