First and foremost: its location is perfection itself. Basically, it is 5/10 minutes on foot from anywhere you may want to go to: Uffizi, Duomo, San Marco, the Arno, etc. Staff at the Hotel were very helpful, informative and pleasant. Rooms were simple but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was perfectly adequate. The ideal base from where to explore Florence. And, having booked in advance, it was very good value for Florence city centre! BTW, no car parking either: it would be crazy and crazily unnecessary to drive in Florence city centre!
We stayed at this Hotel 3 nights never again !!the Bedroom was terrible Dark & so dismal Bathroom Smelt very Basic we asked for another room & Bathroom still smelt , Breakfast ok very disappointed . While we were there 2 other people also were not happy with smells in Bathroom
In the middle of the centre, close to doumo and the main areas! Love both the inside and the outside and the room is perfect for me and my mum :) The breakfast is a typical Italian one with bread, yoghurt and coffee and the staff is really kind! I'm gonna stay here again next time :D
If you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel and need a place to set your luggage this is the place for you. If you are looking for a good night's sleep, you may want to keep looking. The walls are thin and you can hear everything going on in the hallways. The breakfast is decent but checkout time is only 10:30 AM. The location is within easy walking distance of the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio and the shopping district of Florence.
Nice place in a great location to see all the major sights. It is a much bigger hotel than it looks but the staff are very efficient and friendly, big shout to Nino from Napoli who is a perfect front house person. Breakfast was nothing special but more than adequate. Bathroom/showers were light and spacious. The room we had was for four people and looked onto the street which was very nice but obviously can be noisy early in morning and late at night. Worth what we paid and would not have qualms about returning.
The reception is manned 24/7 and the staff member when we arrived was incredibly helpful and informative. The room was clean and quite cheap, and the location and proximity to the major attractions excellent (though a decent walk on uneven surfaces from the train station - I’d recommend a taxi). The room itself was ok sized but the bed firm and pillows hard and very flat. The toilet we had to siddle into to sit down and I could literally lean forward and rest my head on the shower. At least it had lifts (unusual in Italy!). It was both our very noisy air conditioning unit (incredibly loud) and our very noisy guests - teenagers or young adults running up and down hallways, screaming, yelling and banging on doors both nights we were there which was the worst. I know it’s not the hotels fault but it meant we couldn’t rest and there was nothing done about it. So for that reason alone unless you want a youth hostel atmosphere go elsewhere.
We stayed in a quad room (Husband, wife, two teenage boys). Loved to stay in the city center where you can walk to everywhere you want to visit and come back easily whenever you are tired. I actually came back every day to take shower and rest because it was too hot! However, being in the center is also the downside at night. The streets were quite noisy at night (not daytime) which kept us up. You hear drunk party people walking and laughing all night. Ear plugs recommended. But other than that, A/C worked. the room was cleaned every day and spacious enough for Italy, well-maintained for an old hotel, breakfast was fine, staff friendly and helpful, and a lot of restaurants and stores nearby. I have no complaints. Their elevators were very tiny and stairs looked like a little maze, lol, but both were fine. Check-in/out was smooth. They let us leave our luggage in a small storage behind the reception for free before check-in and after check-out. I didn't see any problem as a 3-star hotel. I would stay there again. Like other reviewers mentioned, you can walk to the hotel from the station, but if you are not familiar with how to navigate or have a big suitcase, you may want to ride a taxi. We used a taxi from the station only when we arrived in Florence. For your reference, it was 10€ with a suitcase for us. I want to thank the night-time receptionist who recommended us nice restaurants for Bistecca and other local food. He was very helpful.
The location of this hotel was great having being right in the centre and not the longest walk from the station. We felt connected to the rest of the city with all major sites and restaurants fairly close. Staff were quite helpful when we arrived but they seemed fairly busy with only 1 member on front of house. Room was clean and fairly spacious with our view overlooking the street below. Breakfast offered decent choice with breads, cereal, juices and a coffee/tea machine. All in all, a good hotel for a city break but was expensive for what it actually offered.
A basic hotel with simple accommodations. If being central and affordable in Florence is all that is needed, this hotel should work. It does not offer much as far as amenities. The sleep factor here was pretty low, we didn’t find the beds comfortable and the noise from the street woke us in the middle of the night both nights. We walked to and from the hotel from the train station, it is a bit of a hike but doable. The streets are very busy midday, but great for walks in the morning and evening.
This little hotel has a lot of potential, but management needs to step up. The Air Con does not work. Period. The room was just “ok”. Breakfast is not good and the staff were pleasant, but not helpful. I wished I had believed some of the really crabby reviews. Many of them were spot on. If you are on a budget or a college student, it will work. The location is perfect so we didn’t leave. Only stayed there two nights thank goodness.
