Just back from 3 nights at Albergo and found it to be a nice place. It's location is great ( midway between the Duomo and the Uffizi Gallery) all in all a great base to explore Florence. The continental breakfast was decent too

Had 2 rooms booked here for my family of five including 3 teenagers. Hotel was exceptionally accommodating as we arrived at 10am, let us store our luggage while we toured. Breakfast was decent, and we were also permitted to store our luggage the next day after check-out, at no charge. Hotel was busy at high season, but we didn't have to wait for anything, and always met with smiles. Excellent English spoken by all, and amazing location, in a little courtyard in the centre of it all. One of our rooms even had a little balcony!!

We chose this hotel because of it's location so we could walk to all of the sites we wanted to see. We were not disappointed. Although the street noise and church bells made it difficult to get a restful sleep, the room was comfortable and clean. Desk personnel were helpful and polite. Breakfast was very adequate. Hotel is right next to where Dante lived.

My wife and I and another couple stayed in this hotel September 21-23, 2017 and found the hotel enjoyable, very clean and the staff friendly. My only complaint was the hotel could not get the wifi to work on the second floor. For three days the wifi did not work on our floor but we were able to get the service in the lobby. We have been traveling to Florence each year for 20 years so this is not our first time. Our regular hotel was sold out for our time period and I was pleased with this hotel. I would stay there again. It is centrally located and easy walk to most points of interest.

Hotel situation excellent 2mins from duo, tower museums. 10 minutes from boboli gardens and pinto vecho bridge. Hotel 3 star which requires 3.5 euros per night per person city tax. Rooms clean, breakfast buffet style. All staff helpful and friendly. Could have done with a little more wardrobe space and two comfortable chairs in room. The two plastic chairs were not meant for sitting on. Lifts to all floors but still stairs to room from lift and into bathroom from room. Only breakfast supplied no facilities to offer paying menu, however plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars within 2 minutes walk.

This place is in the best spot. We walked from the train station and it took 15 minutes. It's located under a minutes walk to the piazza de repubblica and a few minutes walk from the Uffizi gallery. The trip to see the famous David is also only 10 minutes walk. Good buffet breakfast and friendly staff. Rooms are a reasonable size and are clean. Watch the shower/bath - You will need super flexibility and steady balance to get in and out of it! Overall this is a great spot at a reasonable price.

The day we arrived the air con was broken. Called the front desk and he fiddled around with it. Because of this we had to open the window. I noticed a strange smell coming form beneath our window. It was a man smoking heroin. I have never wotnessed anything like this in my life! We spoke to reception, who didn't seem surprised. We were not offered a new room, instead we were told that florenece is a large city. We came from London! So no florence is not a large city by any comparison. He claimed he would call the police. None arrived and the smackhead was back the next day with 3 friends! We called reception again. The lady at the desk sounded annoyed that we had called. Again mo police or offer to move rooms. Unacceptable. We felt completely unsafe. Air con wasn't fixed, until we went to reception again the next day. After we had to inhale more heroin smoke. Crap wifi, it basically didn't work. Holes in the sheets. No remote for the TV, but to be honest that was the least of our problems. Toilet drain stank. The cleaners would spray something to cover the stench, but it only lasted about an hour. Around 2am and 6am you will be woken up by plates crashing around and furniture moving. Avoid this place like the plague.

Arrived at the hotel. It seemed ok. The room was very small for 3 people. But it seemed alright at first. Air con wasn't working at all. The man from the front desk bought up an fan which had sellotape holding it together - surprisingly this did not fix the issue. Promised it would be fixed next day. That night we opened our window as were obviously hot due to no air con and discovered men taking crack / heroin in the alley down below. We were absolutely horrified and contacted the man at the front desk again who didn't seem that bothered and said it was to be expected in a large city. As all three of us staying there are from east London and have never witnessed heroin use outside on our streets, I'd say it is completely unacceptable. Throughout our stay we complained multiple times about the drug users to be told the police would be called, however the police never showed up once throughout our whole stay (a week) however the drug users came back daily. Absolutely appalled. The next day a new lady was at the front desk. Asked her when the air con would be fixed, she replied there was nothing wrong with the air con in our room. I told her it wasn't working and the previous member of staff had looked at it. She shrugged her shoulders and said someone could look at it later but it had been fine. It did get fixed eventually but just found the customer service to be absolutely appalling. Found her very rude and unaccomodating. Floors in room were filthy and never mopped. The cleaners ignore do not disturb signs and can be heard shouting from 7am onwards. The toilet was constantly running water as of stuck on flush. The breakfast was not even good. If you like sugary carbs then it's for you. Not even a piece of fruit in sight. Coffee from a vending machine and juice that tasted like off umbongo squash. You can hear people shouting and making loads of noise inside the hotel. The walls are super thin so don't expect much sleep. The lift is tiny and terrifying. Use if you like to risk your life. They also expect you to leave your room key at the front desk when you go out. Although we never did as none of us liked the idea of that. If you enjoy staying in a central location, in tiny filthy rooms where you don't hardly sleep and have to complain several times to get anything up to an expected level of comfort, this is the place for you. Oh and don't forget you'll have to become accustomed to the delightful drug users below your windows. Horrendous hotel. Avoid like the plague.

On arriving at Albergo Firenze my partner and I were straight away shocked as to the location of the hotel: it is down a small street in the centre of Florence and the hotel itself is behind some of the shops. The location, entrance and main reception area does not look as nice as it does in the photos on the website. The lifts are very small: they can apparently hold up to six people, but there was barely enough room for two people with two suitcases. Once we arrived on the fourth floor where our room was the hallways were extremely small and narrow and our room was directly opposite the staircase. When we entered the room it was a lot smaller than our previous 3 star hotel in Rome and resembled a room in a hostel. The windows had built-in blackout blinds which you could close or leave open; if left open however they swung into the room which limited space even more. Our room looked out at the side of the hotel but as the hotel is behind shops all you can see is the building in front and the alleyway between the hotel and the back of the shops. There was poor attention to detail in all the finishings in the room and bathroom: silicone broken and blackened around the sink and bath; flush on the wall not covering the hole behind it; a crack in the shower curtain; no extractor fan in the bathroom; bulbs too close to their plastic cases which made them expand and tick in their holdings (annoying when trying to sleep); and a fridge which did not cool. The room did not feel very clean; when I pulled back the duvet there was a small dark hair underneath it – for this to be overshadowed on our third night. The Wi-Fi did not work at all in our room and would only work when we were on the ground floor in the reception area or having breakfast. On our first night we were awoken at 5.30am by a lot of noise outside the hotel directly below our room. I looked out of the window and saw that it was the hotel’s bins being dragged down the cobble road, emptied and brought back that was creating the racket. Not only this, but there was also a lot of internal noise which kept us awake. The walls and doors are paper thin and not very well insulated and when linked with hard flooring allowed sound to carry. When a guest left their room, walked down the corridor, spoke to their partner in their own room, used the lift etc. not only on our floor but above and below also, we could hear it all. It did not help that we were close to the lifts and the staircase (which only helped the flow of sound from one floor to another). Breakfast was pretty poor: budget cereals which were not nice and extremely hard; limited choices of food; a bank of coffee machines for hot drinks; and a cramped eating space. The breakfast was limited to two cereals, toast and small pastries – not worth the added cost when you consider the multitude of cafes open for breakfast in the area. More importantly than any of the previous points, on our third night when we returned to our room, service had been to provide ‘clean’ bedding and fresh towels. When my partner pulled back the fresh duvet, she found a finger/toe nail underneath the duvet on our bedding. Definitely not ours! She rang reception and explained and they tried to say it was ours. She asked for clean bedding but apparently the receptionist did not have access to any of the service inventory so all she could do was offer us a new room. We took this offer, only to be moved to a worse room on the floor below us. There were stains on the floor and walls; the doors and frames were damaged; the blinds did not close; the air conditioning unit rattled extremely loudly on the full setting; there was a hair on the bedding when we arrived again; and one of the towels was stained and dirty. Again, we also found: silicone broken and blackened around the sink and bath; flush on the wall not covering the hole behind it; a crack in the shower curtain; bulbs too close to their plastic cases which made them expand and tick in their holdings; and a fridge which did not cool. It seemed our new room was older than the room we were in previously as the blinds were wooden lattice blinds both internally and externally and the floor was red tiles. It was at this point that my partner noticed a large number of bites on me. By the end of our visit I had 9 bites all of which (we believe) had come from this hotel. She checked and counted the bites before we went to bed and then again in the morning only to find more bites. Clearly a hotel that is in need of modernisation and which lacks simple tender loving care. Overall to say that we were disappointed with our hotel in Florence would be an understatement. We definitely would not recommend anyone stay there especially considering the price for this hotel in comparison to other supposed 3 star hotels in the area. A hotel is supposed to provide a comforting, relaxing and rejuvenating environment for travellers to recuperate after returning from their daily adventures exploring new places. This hotel did not.

I have traveled several times to Florence and have stayed 4 times at Albergo Firenzie. The rooms are clean - ours had mini frig - very useful quick grocery about 3 minutes away. The wifi connection was great - which was unusual often iffy in hotels. The staff helpful & friendly. The location excellent- food gelato shopping & major sites minutes away. I will stay again next time I go
