Booked this apartment for one nigth at short notice, through a travel agent. We arrived on the train and walked 25 mins from the station, arriving at 9pm. We had not been given the street number and there was no sign outside so we had to guess it was the right place. Our stay was ruined within seconds of our arrival when the first thing our lady host announced was that we would be charged a 40 Euro fee for arriving 10 minutes after close of check in. When I expressed unwillingness to pay this exhorbitant fee because I had no prior notice (other than a sign next to the front door when I arrived) I was rudely told that I can pay or leave. Did not matter what happened after that but the room was spacious and warm but somewhat shabby and the location was OK. Not recommended and a lesson learned for booking at short notice.
We went to Florence while it was hot, and the rooms were always cool. Service was fine. The rooms where clean and fairly well stocked for self accommodation. All of the appliances worked, however there was only one socket in the kitchen which, because of a lack of space, you couldn't use at the same time as the hob.
I stayed here for one night and it was a terrible experience. Firstly you can't get in the place until after 2.00pm as the doors are locked! Therefore there if you arrive in Florence early there is nowhere to leave your luggage. Once in the apartments they are very dated, dirty, dark and foisty, in real need of a makeover! Some of the rooms don't have Windows, my air conditioning did not work, the Internet was useless and 90% of the time did not work and it's noisy... Due to the room being warm it attracted mosquitos and I was bitten throughout the night. Due to some of these problems I tried to call an out of hours number as the reception is only maned for 5 hours a day and the number was not recognised. It is sold as bed and breakfast included but breakfast is a voucher for the cafe next door and although the cafe is a lot nicer than the accommodation you are allowed a coffee and a croissant so please don't expect a choice. I personally would never visit this place again and would encourage anyone to pay a little bit more and stay elsewhere. For those of you wondering why I booked this accommodation in the first place I didn't, it was a business trip and when I read the previous reviews I was somewhat sceptical to stay here, my worst fears were vindicated.
Would not recommend. Rooms are large but two of three couches are worn and broken. The bedding configuration is weird so my young children have to climb up a spiral staircase that is not properly affixed to the wall to get to bed at night. The location is great but that is the only positive thing I have to say about it. The furniture is all old and worn; my double bed is two singles pushed together with a large dip in the middle. Go elsewhere.
Do not go to the appt. It is an appauling place and should be avoided at all costs, - The door knob falls off. - Promised a 'continental' breakfast and was given none. What a lie. - Cutlery was left in the dish washer since past users. - The carpet looked as though it was not cleaned in years. - The stovetop was still dirty from past users. - Noisy area at night. - Microwave sits on a table which if knocked will collapse. - The only powerpoint in the kitchen is placed right next to the stovetop, real smart positioning. - The dining table is insecure and will fall apart soon. - The floor and kitchen were not clean at all when we arrived. - The microwave has grime still inside from past users. - Fridge falls over when open. - Rubbish must be thrown out blocks away from the appt when checking out. The appt is terrible and I would advise not to stay here. It says that they offer free wi-fi THIS IS A LIE!!!!!!! You will need to pay a ridiculus price for the wi-fi. The location of the place is alright, however at night it is very noisy and will wake you during the night.
My husband andI recently stayed here for three nights and were very dissappointed. I got sick on the comforter and requested a replacement but never got one until we went back to office to ask again for another, then we were given a twin size for a queen bed. We were charged 5 euros per day for internet and 20 euros for overnight parking of a rental car we got on the last day , which I thought was outrageous! The day we were leaving I turned on the microwave and all electricity went off. We called the office but couldnt get any help so we had to pack our suitcases in the dark. Terrible stay here and would not recommend to anyone going to Florence Italy.
Rude hotel staff specially the woman with covered head (Islamic). When we got there, no one looked at us about 15 min. she did not pay attention to us because she was fighting with some other staff member. Not professional! Stinky rooms. Don't!!!!!!
So... if you are reading this review, you are probably looking for a place to stay in Florence, this is NOT your place, and here is why: 1. Bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The shower door didn't close, and was not on it's rail, to the point where it actually nearly fell on me, but I caught it. Not to mention, it is a glass door, so in no way was it light. A very high danger to children, who wouldn't be able to save themselves from the power of a door. no soap holder in the bathroom. What kind of service apt is this. Layer of dust above the microwave oven obviously not cleaned. Would not even thin about using it. 2. Staff are rude. Just in general they were not friendly towards us, she had a very negative vibe amongst her. 3. Basic facilities did not exist. This apartment was meant to have free wifi, but there was no wifi.
Accommodation itself was functional. Best thing about the stay was the balcony. Check and make sure your wifi is included in the stay as we were going to be charged €5 each for access to our free wifi. This was resolved was I showed the print out of included free wifi in the ad for the room Aircon in room didn't work Very noisy on balcony but with doors shut and aircons that did work rattling away outside noise was not a problem. Reception did a good job of booking a taxi for us for our early start.
What a shocker! Stay away from this one. We stayed 2 night as a family of four and couldn't wait to leave. The shower drain was blocked and the apartment was dated and dirty. We couldn't close our bedroom door and parking on the premises was expensive. Only positive was the central location. Would not stay there again.
