Ok location for a stop in Florence, near city center. Price was ok and breakfast was good. The owner was really helpful leaving us the keys to our room as we did not read the part where it said latest time for check in, luckily we had money in our skype for a call (there was some free wifi outside the hotel) and we were able to get in. Room was ok too although there are WAAAY too many rules for the guests...(no washing clothes in the bathroom were one of them or else will be fined) I mean its understandable for the hotel to let the guests know that they can't do that in their hotel due to high costs of water receipts? but another thing is to have a list of 10-12 things of what a guest cannot do or else will be fined. What are we in kindergarten?
Stayed there for 2 nights, first impression of this hotel (sorry correct me, It's a B & B apartment on one floor with around 10 rooms reception are and breakfast place everything on one floor....and they call it a hotel...should have been named as serviced apartments Entering into this place with no lifts and carrying heavy luggage by self was hell.. When we buzzed the intercom for access couldn't hear anything had to wait for 10 minutes so pressed it twice again, got access finally and went upstairs and the first contact with receptionist (seems to be the manger of this place ) he's was very rude and started to yell at us....why do you guys press the bell so many times with an angry man's face....no hospitality whatsoever....doesn't care about the guests who are giving him the business Later when we wanted to extend one more night as our plans changed... Went to check the prices, he gave us higher price than online and we found a cheaper one on Agoda and asked him we can get better price as it's cheaper online.... He then immediately blocked the rate on Agoda in front of us and said us you wouldn't be able to book online for one night but can book for 2 nights.... he knows that we are tourists as reason was trying to sell us the room for expensive price... We decided not to stay there and booked different place for cheap price which was much better.. I have later checked the price online after we checked out again on Agoda, he has again reopened the booking and priced it even less than the first one This person doesn't know how to look after the guests and doesn't know how to run a business What a shame...!
Stayed here as there were no rooms at the Suore Oblate Monastery a couple of doors down. Had a single room which felt a bit like a prison dorm room, very small, the bathroom was an afterthought and there is no way an above average person could possibly use it. There are three steep flights of stairs and do not expect any help with luggage. Breakfast room is very small and serves cereal, croissants, packaged ham, cheese and boiled eggs. No real common areas. The walls are not soundproof so you can hear everything from the rooms around you. The double rooms did look much bigger so they could be an option. But unless you are on a very restricted budget there are much nicer places to stay. I would not stay again.
No elevator and it's on the third floor but that wasn't a problem for us. The staff was generally nice although they were hesitant to provide additional toilet paper. The shampoo, conditioner, and soap are all-in-one and there's barely any of it so we had to buy additional supplies at the market. The toilet was inside the shower so the entire bathroom got wet after a shower. The room itself was the bare essentials. Tiny TV with a broken remote.
The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the train station and located in the city centre, very close to Duomo. There is no elevator in the building and the hotel is on the third floor which is a hassle with luggage. We booked a breakfast included room for 3 people for 3 nights and requested 3 single beds. One of the beds was uncomfortable so we asked for a change the next day and once another bed was available, it was replaced. The rooms were outdated but clean. The bathroom was a bit shocking because when you take a shower the entire place gets wet as there is no shower cabin but they always had hot water. The breakfast had variety and was fulfilling. The hotel had wifi but it was a bit slow.
We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Locanda de Pazzi in January as a family. Be aware, like a lot of places in Italy, the hotel is in a highrise with no lift. The hotel is down a little street with no car access, the taxi will drop you about a 100 mtrs at the nearest cross street. As the road is cobbled, it is a little challenge to get rolling suitcases down the street - but definetely worth it. The hotel is on the second floor and as mentioned no lift, so not for the faint hearted. Tony, who i think is the manager, was very helpful and let us know all the details we needed. Our room was spacious for two adults and two older daughters (16 and 24) with our own bathroom of toilet, shower and basin. Bathroom was spotless, water was hot and plentiful, we never ran out. We did not spend too much time here as busy exploring but it was adeqate for our needs. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, pastries with what seemed3 types of home made jam and nutella, nice coffee machine, biscuits, cereal and juice. For a budget place and the price we paid, we were very happy.
Pros: Location (close walk to the Duomo and Santa Croce; not super central considering the train station and Ponte Vecchio tho); breakfast; staff; quiet and spacious room. Cons: Bathroom was old and not very comfortable (shower shared space with the toilet); overpriced considering other hotels I've been in Florence. Stayed for just one night and was not there for tourism. Staff were nice tho. Good quality breakfast for Italian average. The room was also oddly too warm; wouldn't cool down not even with the window open all day (not a huge problem tho).
Nobody was there for us to check in at 8pm.We check in ourselves and our key room was on the desk.I remember that the main door was close and we came in by accident While passing others.I didn t see before that .I see only one man was working there and tomorrow he told us that i am alone in the reception untill 4pm every day!!!and its the reason that he have to go shopping for tomorows breakfast! so that no body is there to put our luggage !!!While we were counting on storage suitcase. when i asked this service that i have read you have it on booking websites, (you can see a copy of that part of booking website about facilities of this hotel: Services: Luggage storage Fax/photocopying Express check-in/check-out ,................) ,He said we dont have luggage storage and you must tell to those to change the booking website.I don t know why ?!!!! Another negetive things was the way that this hotel warning you!!! in the room you can find a paper about the hotel rules (A-Z).All of that was rude and intimidating.I had not seen before. At the breakfast it seemed he all the time was Cleaning one place with napkins over and over and that was a small room.like nervous people.I did not feel comfortable. but you can find this hotel clean but with too much steps and 7minutes far from duomo cathedral and i think it is more like B&Bs. it was like a joke that on the hotel desk you can see a sign that shows 8.2 in ranking of booking.com website!!!!!!!!! 5 is real..
I booked using Venere.it with a big discount on the room. When we arrived the hotel was in a small palace and it looked pretty old. To me it was a surprise that our room was great, the private bathroom was brand new, we had a tv, the breakfast was great and enough to fill us up untill 2pm and the owner was friendly
I booked a room in this hotel barely one week prior to the stay and I paid an incredibly reasonable price. The location is great, 5 minutes walk from the Cattedrale di Santa Maria dei Fiore and 10 from the Palazzo Vecchio. They offer breakfast, but I did not try it. There's no lift so if you're traveling alone with big luggages you will have a hard time. The rooms are clean and tidy, but the AC is controlled in the reception, so if you're hot at night during summer, you have to stick with it and the floor is ceramic so maybe during winter it may be cold, but I wasn't there during winter to confirm. But in the end, taking their prices and location in consideration, it's a great place.
