Great hotel ! Located near city center (10-15 minutes walk from all major attractions) Staff is very friendly and English speaking. Nice rooms. Best part of the hotel is PIetro!! He will definitely take care of you... Whether you want to stay in and eat at the hotel or if you want to step out and try the local restaurants Pietro will either cook you up a delicious meal or suggest restaurants that will meet your needs. Thanks again for the wonderful service, will definitely return!

The room was great, a nice bed with a good shower etc and clean. The hotel is a short walk to the centre of town and the key attractions. The breakfast was good. The key problem: it was so so hot!! The thermostat in the room didn't do anything and when we asked the staff at the front desk what could be done, they sad that the thermostat wasn't meant to do anything, that the temperature was centrally controlled and that the heating was off (hot air was still blowing into the room) it was too early in the season for the air-conditioning. We were suggested to keep our window open to allow a breeze into the room. This unfortunately let in a lot of mosquitos so we woke up covered in bites.

The best part about this hotel is the parking space available, the small distance to the non-driving restricted part of the city and the breakfast (which was quite alright, with relatively vast range of options). The room was small, the bathroom was small. They didn't give us complementary water in the room. The lobby was rather spacious and interesting but we didn't spend too much time there. You do have to walk quite a bit to get to the Duomo, but the streets are filled with small restaurants/ cafe that it didn't feel long (except in the evening when you're already beaten and tired). We rented a car since we were going to the countryside Tuscany, so availability of parking space is crucial. Overall, we might not come back to this hotel, and try other one. But it was a relatively comfortable stay.

The location of the hotel is near-perfect. 10 minutes walk from the Duomo and some amazing restaurants and the staff are brilliant. However, the hotel left me underwhelmed. The bed (like others have mentioned) were incredibly uncomfortable, the shower was tiny, the breakfast was unremarkable and the lack of care by cleaning staff was a shame. The bed was really hard and very squeaky. The shower was powerful but tiny and didn't have a lot of room to move around in. The breakfast was ok but not great, although the staff in the breakfast room and reception were brilliant. The room was not 'cared' for. The toiletries were thrown into the bathroom and the AC unit was covered in dust. Also, the cleaners would watch TV while working and leave the TV blasting all day so we would come back to a very loud Italian show! Not awful but I wouldn't recommend it, there are so many hotels why stay somewhere not lovely?

This Hotel is in very good location. On foot you can reach the old town and the dome within just few minutes from the Hotel. Prices are very reasonable and rooms are large enough. Unfortunately, the beds are very uncomfortable.

Found this comfortable hotel up the street from Piazza San Marco and L'Accademie from a B&B book I read. A good 20 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella Station, but then simple to get to the historic sites. Comfortable room, with a bath tub! Substantial breakfast with enough freshness and variety. Service good.

Had a very enjoyable experience at this hotel. Modern, clean hotel with a large bathroom and double bed. Was able to walk to the hotel (while dragging my suitcase) from the train station without any difficulty (about a 15 minute walk). You are then fairly close walk to all the attractions and restaurants through quiet safe neighbourhoods. Breakfast is included, and is everything you need to start your day (including bacon and scrambled eggs). Would stay here again.

This Hotel was a little further from the core but close enough to walk everywhere. With the heatwave that was on at the time of our holiday, we found ourselves taking a taxi back to hotel after a busy day. I am sure if the weather had been different, we would have been ok to walk everywhere. I would recommend this hotel for its service, room and cleanliness. The Breakfast was good and more than adequate to start our day.

Located in a quiet area with a short walk to the attractions. Clean and fairly comfortable with decent sized bathroom. The buffet breakfast has the basics - nothing more. There is a restaurant and bar on site but I didn't try them.

Nicely appointed, clean rooms. Pleasant and accommodating staff. We found this hotel to be a welcome oasis and great location for exploring the sites in and around this artfully beautiful and historic city. A pleasant and tasty breakfast fueled all our adventures touring downtown and the wonderful Tuscany wineries. San Gimignano towers provide one of the best views of the region. The Athenaeum Hotel provided us very satisfied visitors the perfect refuge to relax and recharge for the next adventure to come.
