We stayed there for 4 nights with our 2 daughters and was so comfortable. The room was very cozy with all the comforts, including a nice balcony: everything at a very cheap price! The breakfast was very good as well: there's also the possibility to have it on a marvellous panoramic terrace on the roof. The hotel is easy to find and very close to the central train station (only 3 minute walk).
Only a 2 minute walk from Florence's central train station (Firenze SMN), it is a very nice low budget hotel. We were greeted by a warm concierge every morning who served an excellent buffet breakfast. Florence is a fantastic and charming city and everything is within walking distance so this hotel is very close to the station and even closer to the famous cathedral: all that made it a perfect stay in Florence!
We had a great stay at Hotel Bijou. The staff were very kind and friendly, the rooms were large and clean. It is very near the main train station and within walking distance to museums and stores. Some tasty restaurants nearby. The rooftop terrace is AMAZING: DO NOT MISS IT! No hesitations in recommending!
The hotel is excellent, rooms are large and everything is good, clean and nice, also the room rate is very cheap. The breakfast is also very good and all the staff are very nice and kind:PERFECT SERVICE! The rooftop terrace is SPECTACULAR: take a look. I would go back again.
The room itself was ok, wifi was 2euros which they didn't specify and we weren't allowed to control the air conditioning which left us freezing in the middle of the night. But worth it for the convenient location. The man at the desk, however, was rude, unhappy to serve us, and outright angry when I requested to print my boarding pass (there is a sign saying they can do this, and a different man had told me earlier to email my pass to their printer and it would be no problem). I was given incorrect directions to an internet café and when I returned- because he said he could print it in 20 min if I'd wanted to wait- he yelled at me for returning and shut the door in my face. Appalling.
A roper guided me to the hotel from the train station promising inexpensive but clean accommodations. The room was very large with a high ceiling and balcony. The staff didn't speak much English and seemed to scream a lot at each other and at the customers in a non-threatening, almost friendly manner. The staff seems to smoke a lot and they looked like they were disappointed that they had to be there. I'm not sure what happened but they got in some kind of hassle with my travel companion and we were thrown out with threats to call the police. Overall I would say the experience was just ok.
2 star hotel close to the train station. There is no metro system in Florence so be prepared to walk a lot which is lovely, as everything is within close proximity to the hotel. Beds were comfortable enough, rooms huge and airy. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to anyone visiting the beautiful city of Firenze.
The hotel is in a very good location, close to the railwaystation and centre. The roofterrace is wonderful, with a great view. But the rooms look nothing like the pictures on Internet. I think the pictures are taken in the 3-star hotel Anna-Bella nextdoor, run by the same people. In hotel Bijou the rooms are very small and drab, like in an oldfashioned hostel. We complained about the first room and got another one the second night. That was slightly better, but still cheap hostel standard. AC worked fine though. Staff seemed very depressed.
The hotel is very close to the city centre, just beside the Maria Novella train station. 5 min walk to the Duomo.. We had a triple room and it was really spacious but it was above the main floor and no lift. It had a sink and a flat screen TVs.The down side was the toilet..at night and in the morning was quite dirty..most of the staff was really really nice...
On arriving at Hotel Bijou after a long journey we were greeted by an unfriendly receptionist who informed us that we did not have a booking even though we had an email with a reference number and confirmation of the booking. A half hour of the receptionist and a staff member yelling at us ensued with the receptionist blaming us for the hotel's mistake. Eventually we were told there was a room available, however it was not the room we had booked. We were assured that the room we had booked would be made available the following day. On returning to the hotel the following evening we were shown to our new room which once again was not what we had booked and once again we were yelled at when we asked for the correct room. The hotel provides cheap rooms, however the A/C was not up to standard and most of the electrical outlets in the room did not work. We were also informed that we had to pay extra for WiFi. We have stayed at other two star hotels which have been wonderful but our experience at this hotel was not good and the atmosphere was terrible. We would not recommended it to any fellow travelers. The hotel would be advised to be more polite and accommodating to their guests.
