Very nice B&B. Staff was helpful and spoke English well. Our suite had a full kitchenette. A supermarket was just a 7 or 8 minute drive away. 20 minutes walk would get you to the center of Florence. If you prefer taxi, that costs less than 10 euros. If you need laundry service, an automatic laundromat "Wash & Dry" is on the way to Florence, on the street "Via dei Serragli". Plenty of free parking space on the street.

we stayed here with our two children and we had a marvelous time. Our option was self catering and it had great wifi. There is a large supermarket 3 stops on a bus up the road. The 36 bus outside can take you to the train station. We walked to the town every morning and although it was a 20 min walk we enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here recently and really enjoyed the place. We were in the villa attached to the main building and we were well looked after but not bothered once settled which is nice. Very nice room with separate bathroom and shower all looked new. Separate kitchen diner so very handy when we dined in. Very handy for the city as just 10-15 stroll down the road and your there. All in all excellent place!

We checked in and the person behind the desk seemed in a rush to be elsewhere. Gave us sheet of paper with information for internet and breakfast. Helped us up the stairs with luggage and that was it. The room had a weird smell and was so hot that we left windows wide open while we went down town. Came back - no one on the desk - you basically have to call them on the phone as the desk people only work certain hours. I think we may have just been unlucky with the room (I am hoping) it was very road noisy, every 20 mins or so it sounded like water was running through pipes in the ceiling and the wind was howling through a window!!!(Windows were shut) Need less to say did not get any sleep as this went on every twenty minutes - being wide awake realized that the noises were actually coming from the small fridge in the room !!!!! by this time it was 1 hour till alarm was due to go off. We were dreading the noise from next door as that was the breakfast room but it was quiet and empty when we were there for breakfast. Location was good about 20 mins into town. Upon check out the sign left stated that no one was there till 9am - fortunately we both arrived at the front desk and check out. Bonus was the fact that the parking was free.

After spending six weeks travelling through Europe in August to September this year and visiting many hotels this one was in our top three. Everyone was very kind and most helpful. Rooms were gorgeous and very clean. Breakfast was delicious. Located within walking distance of the old quarter - highly recommended - many thanks - Tony and Anna-Maria - all the way from New Zealand.

The staff was nice. The room was clean. The grounds were lovely. The air conditioning hardly cooled down the room at all. The beds were not overly comfortable either. It was a little farther away from the center of town than I thought it would be, but we always had a cab within about 5 minutes of calling for one.

Good location to city centre. Only took us 20 minutes to walk to the centre. Caught the bus to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the stunning view of Florence. We had a car and it was easy to get parking in the side streets at no charge. We rented the apartment and had not enough coffee cups, no plug to do dishes and tea towel to dry them. Lights not working. We booked 8 months in advance, so things should of been ready for us. Just as well we are seasoned travellers and can improvise. In all enjoyed our stay.

I was in town for a congress and I managed to get a very good off-season deal on this quiet, charming little place which didn't feel like hotel but rather like renting a room from a house when the family is away. I could come and go as I pleased, hardly saw anybody else, still everything was very well taken care of. The breakfast was very good with plenty of things I like to stuff myself with in the morning: coffee, juice, toast with toppings, yoghurt, fruit, jam. Then every morning I'd set off walking down the road towards the city watching the city to wake up in the morning light. In the evenings it was great to explore the neighboring residential area with nice villas and lovely narrow streets. I liked Florence very much, but I think staying in this lovely place added half to the trip's charm.

We stayed only one night here as we toured Italy but were totally delighted. Villa il Leone is really lovely. As a family group with 2 teen kids we had the apartment on the ground floor which has really comfortable beds a fab bathroom and the facilities should we have wanted to use them to cook for ourselves, (we didn't bother with that) The rooms were spotlessly clean. Although the hotels receptionist gave us instructions of where to eat and which bus we walked the easy walk into Florence to soak up the atmosphere,(its a bit of a hill walking back but no less pleasurable) My Partner and the girls loved Florence. We were able in the evening to sit in the front yard with a glass of wine, there was a little traffic noise which we didn't hear from the room it wasn't obtrusive though. As we were driving i was concerned about the lack of parking, this wasn't an issue there is on street parking which seemed fine directly outside. We spoke with another couple who expressed delight with their simple room. Breakfast was a little extra but helped us get a start on the day. This is a little gem I think.

We stayed here for 4 days and it was great experience staying at Villino il Leone. We felt like at home at this place. Room is incredible with a beatifull view in an amazin neighbourhood. The rooms are super clean and the beds are amazingly comfortable. The neighborhood is really nice and it is just 30 minutes walk from center of Florence. Staff was very friendly and really helpfull. We got some great tips where to eat and where to go. During our stay or hotel in Rome was canceled and Paolo helped us find newhotel in Rome. Thanks Paolo! There are free street parking in a small street. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience with hosts and the room and would get back.
