We recently stayed for 9 nights at the Sheraton Villas. Our 2 bed lagoon villa was extremely spacious, clean and really well located. We loved that we could enjoy access to the Sheraton and Westin resorts including the range of restaurants and pools and had access to the complimentary resort Bula bus (which worked wonders for occupying our 2 year old son on occasions). Staff were so professional and friendly and our son was doted on by everyone he met. While thanking all staff whom we met, in particular, we'd have to say a special thank you to Jone who worked in landscaping in the Villas and Doris in the Flying Fish restaurant both of whom are wonderful ambassadors for the Sheraton resort.
We were on our way to Beqa Island for a diving trip, but arrived in Fiji a couple days early, so stayed at this Sheraton. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Villa, which was basically a two bedroom condo. The property is nice and very large. The Westin, which is where the spa and fitness center is, is adjacent to the property. Also, the buffet breakfast at the Westin is really great. So much to choose from for a low price (even unlimited champagne for mimosas, etc.). They also were very good with my Gluten Allergy. Knowledgable and easily able to accommodate. They even had Gluten Free pancakes on the buffet as well. There was site wide wireless internet, a bounty of pools and a lovely beach. Everything you need.
My family (myself, husband and 3 adult girls) stayed here for 5 days. What an amazing resort, we visited other resorts on Denarau as we had extended family staying in most of them and I can happily say I was impressed with our villa compared to some others. We had a 2 bedroom villa and it was huge, perfect for 5 adults, the pools were amazing and loved the fact we could also use the Sheraton and Westin amenities etc. Buffet breakfast is a must (amazing food) and was so pleased with the gluten free section as I have one daughter who is Coeliac and she had no issues choosing food. Make sure you bring plenty of money as nothing is cheap but that is to be expected. Would love to return to the Sheraton Villas anytime, its the perfect place for relaxation.
Our 3 bedroom villa was perfect and well appointed. Fabulously comfortable beds, and a great pillow selection. Kitchenette had everything that was needed. Beautiful swimming pools with plenty of loungers to chose from. However just a few things that let the Sheraton Villas down. Bath Mats and Face Cloths were in short supply and if there is a coat hanger in the wardrobe that has a sign saying "Relax in this robe during your stay" I would suggest that a Robe should have been present. Also food and beverage prices were a little extortionate. We thought that the breakfast selection and food quality at the Westin (sister hotel) was better than the Sheraton. Fortunately we could chose which establishment for breakfast as part of our package.
After arriving late at night with our 2 year old we waited an hour to check in, we were provided no information in regards to where anything was, including our breakfast or in regards to the room info such as wifi. When we arrived at our Lagoon View room there was no cot as previously requested prior to our trip. I called Reception to request one and we waited another hour for the cot to be bought to the room. We ordered room service and when it arrived we had received the wrong meal, I ordered a vegetarian meal and was bought a chicken dish, at this time we did not return the food as it was already 11pm. If you are expecting a mini bar, there isn't one. There was stuff left in the freezer from previous holiday guests and the ice machine near our room was broken during the entire stay. I would be mindful of the wifi, it states when you first log in that it will be free for 24 hours and then up to $65 for 5 days after. It was only when I asked the staff about this that they explained we would just need to re log in every 24 hours to continue to receive it for free. Lucky I had not already paid for the 5 days! After finally speaking with the Manager in regards to all of the above issues, plus a few hospitality issues the next day we were told we would be contacted the following day. We were never contacted but we decided to let it go and enjoy the trip. Throughout our stay we booked the Traditional Dinner @ The Westin through the Sheraton, we were advised at the time of booking that all drinks including alcohol were included in the package. We arrived to the dinner to find out that drinks were an extra cost, not a big deal, however we were provided with incorrect information when booking. At the time of booking this dinner we requested a high chair and after arriving we waited over an hour for this to be made available. Other than these issues, the food and entertainment was great. Mozzie spray is a must!! We ate at The Flying Fish restaurant on site several times due to having a young child and its convenience, and were constantly waiting to be served. I'm all for Fiji time, but there is a limit to how long that should be at a 5 star resort. For every meal we were charged full price for our sons food until I would reminded the staff he was only 2 and that under 3's eat free or @ 10% max. Unfortunately we found the food to be overpriced for what it is. Some of the staff were amazing, others were not too attentive. A couple of the nights we ended up ordering room service and again we received incorrect or missing items, we were also charged a delivery fee. We are usually quite chill when it comes to issues like all of the above but it seemed like it was one thing after another on this trip. We spent thousands on this holiday and left a little disappointed with the customer service we received from a 5 star resort. I would recommend eating away from the resort wherever possible, we had dinner one night at the Wynard Hotel in the Mexican restaurant and the food was great, the service was A + and the price was very reasonable. As for the grounds and the rooms of this resort, they are amazing. The grounds are kept beautifully, the pools are big and clean and it has a nice waterfront location. Not amazing for swimming in the ocean but beautiful all the same. Props to the Grounds staff as we found they were all extremely friendly. The room we stayed in was massive, had two bedrooms and worked really well for us as a family. The only cons for us and now I am just being picky were that there are very minimum TV channels and with a young child who naps in the day and has early nights, that would have been helpful. No block out blinds or curtains either so again with a young child that would have made the room pretty much perfect for us, but this is just a personal choice for our family. All in all, it is a beautiful resort with great rooms, and some really great staff and as always some not so great staff. I think the resort is over priced for food and drinks but that is just my view. I absolutely love Fiji and the Fijians, have been a few times and have never had any issues with service prior to this trip and will continue to go back, just not to Denarau. Denarau is very expensive and I believe not a true reflection of beautiful Fiji.
I have been twice to Fiji, the first time we stayed at the another 5 star hotel and did not really enjoy it, but our second visit we stayed here. The whole fiji experience was amazing and so much better the second time. Everything from check in, staff, accommodation, service, activities, food was 10/10 can't wait to go back again and will only ever stay here when we do.
I stayed at this property in June 2017 for a full day before flying back home the next day. First, let me say check-in was effortless and my SPG status was recognized by the receptionist and she made me feel very welcome. Our room was a 2 bedroom villa, which had an oceanfront view (Thanks management!) and included a welcome note and gift. The pools were just a few steps away from the room but we didn't hear any noise. Breakfast had a lot of choices, but my favorite was the juice bar and the omelet station. Special shout out to Amelia at the breakfast area who also recognized my SPG status in a very friendly and courteous way. She was full of smiles and a very warm and inviting personality. I had my son and family with me and he spent most of the day in the pool. We had a short stay, and didn't get to check out the property in details, but from what I did see, it was very well maintained and a great spot for short or long stays. Perhaps on my next visit we'll stay there for a little longer and check out more of what the resort has to offer. Thank you to management and the entire team for making our stay very pleasant!
We have spend 9 nights in the 2 bedroom Villa with 4 boys. It has been a great stay and we love the room layout. The added bonus of having access to the Sheraton, Sheraton Villa's and the Westin pools and restaurants makes for great variety across the stay. There have been some truly lovely staff members and the interaction with the kids is great. We utilised the Kid's club a few mornings and enjoyed afternoons at the pool. The ease of just a one stop location of Denarau is great with the Marina offering more eating options etc and a change of scenery. We will definitely be back.
I can recommend the Sheraton Villas for a family get away. The two bedroom, two bathroom and kitchen /lounge set up is great for adults and children. We booked a stay in a 2 bedroom garden ground floor villa, but were upgraded to a poolside first floor villa and it was huge. The 2 bedroom villa has 2 bathrooms - 1 with bath and shower and washing machine and dryer. Very handy for a travelling family. The living area has a full kitchen, lounge area and dining table. A TV in each bedroom and lounge. It is more expensive, but you will save on food costs if you buy at the supermarket in the port. The swimming pools are great although a little cold this time of year. No restrictions on use of any of the resort pools. We found breakfast at the Sheraton hotel to be better than most, and a very comfortable setting by the pools. We found dinner prices at the resorts to be on the expensive side, so a visit to the port restaurants (Bone Fish) or a short walk to the Golf and Racquet club offered better options. The port does a free dance and fire show each night at 6:30. We stayed here for 4 nights in July. 28-30C temps each day. A family room option is difficult to find in Fiji but the Sheraton Denarau Villas have got this right. We found this to be the highlight of our trip. We will be back.
