Lovely historic hotel in the historic area of eureka Springs

First off: the pros- staff was very friendly and receptive to our requests. Parking very convenient. Restaurant is good and location is hard to beat. We had a suite so plenty of room to stretch out. The “Not so good” - I have stayed at many boutique hotels, so I’m aware of what to expect. I would say Grand Central is not so much period appropriate as it is dated. We had white silk medical tape covering a crack in the door, the ceiling has dark spots from leaking. The furniture was a hodgepodge of mismatched chairs and nothing remotely matched. The cleanliness had a lot of room for improvement. Dust bunnies flew from ceiling fan. In the day and age of swifter, that’s really not ok. It could be a great place...truly. It is several years passed needing some cosmetic work and more staff to clean and handle hotel duties.

This property has old fashioned qualities. The gentleman who checked us in also showed us to the room and reviewed the amenities with us. I loved the balcony that overlooked Main Street also. The jetted tub was large enough for two of us to sit side by side. The room also had its own private ice maker, refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker. There was also salt, pepper, dishes, glasses (even wine glasses), utensils, paper towels, dishrags, sink and microwave in the room. The furniture was genuine antiques. Even being on Main Street it was very quiet at night. If I had to choose to replace one thing it would be the pillows-they were too heavy and hard for me but that is a personal preference for me. If you love a old fashioned hotel (this one is over 100 years old) with high ceilings and real wooden floors-you will really love this hotel. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and it can't be beat!

Great location. We enjoyed our stay as the restaurant is excellent. Staff was nice and all our needs were met. We were a bit disappointed with room. Very small seating area and TV. Outlets in room would push in wall when trying to plug in a device. Not a big deal as it did not effect our trip but for the money spent would expect some of these things to be addressed.

Great location. Otherwise it was nothing special. Some people may enjoy the nostalgia of a 150 year old hotel, but we are not one of those people. They could use a serious remodel.
