Our stay started with us having to wait 45 minutes in line to check-in. They were having problems getting a guest their proper room including giving them a key to a room that was already occupied. They didn't know which rooms had quests and which did not. The room was decent enough, just needed updating. The hotel is pet friendly. One of breakfast conditions is not to take food back to room, but they don't want you to leave your pet alone in the room. How are you supposed to eat breakfast with a pet? I did see one bug come outy of the bathtub faucet and the retreat. There are 5 other hotels next to each other, so you have a great choice when staying in this area.

I picked this particular hotel because it had an indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. None of these amenities were available to me. The plumbing in my room made noise all night as air was shooting of the sink drain.

Roaches in my bed and tweekers all over the place outside. Didnt even offer me an apology or reinbursement. Id never stay there or anywhere else off the Giuntoli exit.

Older facility. A little worn. An elevator would have been nice. No fridge as advertised. Pool was small for size of facility.

My boyfriend and I booked a room here for one night, wanting to stay in Humboldt County a little longer. In the past I had passed up staying at Red Roof Inns because of the low ratings, but I was happily surprised by how nice our room was. Check-in was easy, check-out was easy, although the woman I dealt with at check-out had somewhat of an accent and it was a little hard to understand her, but overall no problems. My boyfriend and I really didn't find anything wrong with the room. It felt spacious. Although the sliding glass door did lead right out to the path behind the Inn, privacy and noise were not an issue. Everything was very nice and comfortable. I wouldn't see a problem staying here for more than one night. I look forward to seeing if more Red Roof Inns are as nice!

Needs a major facelift and major elbow grease. Breakfast bar was pathetic.

Hole in ceiling, security lock/ door frame busted -shoddy repair, no working ice machine, tv picture poor at best, bathroom fan SHOUTING LOUD neighbours fan too, 1 parking lot door didn't work w/keycard, whole place stunk of pot, lumpy mattress. Staff was friendly/ understanding, know that it's falling apart.

Came here from a motel down the street, it felt so much more roomie double the room and amminities, free breakfast, free WiFi, and about $20 cheaper. Go Red Roof.

This hotel needs major renovations the rooms both rooms smelled of stale cigarette smoke the TV set in the one room was not working .

We stayed here - it was fine. Totally fine. Not sure what else to say. Thanks

staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable

A noisy loud perhaps drunk or on drugs type crowd seemed to inhabit the place during our visit. Thus it was very difficult to get a good night's sleep.

This is a recommended place for a great price. Although it's outside of town, it's still close enough (10m drive). They offered a generous breakfast that gets you going for the day

Red Roof Inn Arcata is a good stopover for roadtrippers. We drive north once a year to see the coast with our dog, and Red Roof allows dogs at no charge. We were there on a Friday Halloween night, so the atmosphere was rather festive (weekdays are probably quieter). Prices are reasonable.

The hotel could have been cleaner, and I had a king size bed but no fridge... Very frustrating. Not bad for $49 a night tho

This is located near restaurants for easy dining after a day on the road. Nice hotel. The rooms were clean and neat. Breakfast was a not the best that I have had. A mix between prepackaged goodies and make your own waffles.

We were at the hotel only to sleep at night, and for that purpose, it was comfortable. The mattress was comfortable, which is a big deal to us. The walls were dingy and in need of paint, the bathtub could use refinishing, but the room was clean. It was a good alternative to the hotel we usually stay at in the area and we would do this again if we needed to.

Convenient location. The barking dog was extremely annoying. The bed was comfortable & clean. Needed 3 new key cards in 4 nights.

Overall, we had a very positive experience here. It is right across the street from a grocery store, gas station, and food. Also very close to the beach and just a short drive from the Redwoods. Our non smoking room smelled slightly like old cigarettes, but it wasn't overwhelming. Great location, helpful staff, fair price, and a quiet hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Overall the hotel seemed unkempt and operating at a minimum level. Grounds needed to be cleaned up, pool wasn't appealing, and the continental breakfast was not worth eating--terrible food and drinks including sour milk. No hot water for showers one morning. The best thing I can say about it is that they allow pets!
