Shea's is quaint and scenic. Gayle is very friendly and helpful. She upgraded our room when someone else had to cancel. In this unsure time of COVID we felt that it was a clean and safe environment. It is within walking distance to restaurants. The next time we go to our daughter's we will be coming back to Shea's.

For all that is going on In the world we had a great stay very clean cottage we stayed in right on the Essex river right across the street from woodmans seafood would definitely come back shea’s restaurant was right next door great food Motel manager was very helpful with all precautions that needed to be taken during this time Thanks again

Staff was absolutely fantastic. Property was immaculate. Definitely going to stay here again.

Very clean and quaint, for the price you can’t beat it!

We thought we had booked into an Inn room but were given a motel room. The room was tiny and crowded - you open the door and it hits the nightstand, you open the bathroom door and it hits the AC. The AC was loud. The photos makes you think it has grounds that run along the river, but it's really a parking lot and a small sandy strip. The only thing that went well was that we were able to get a refund without too much fuss.

The only thing I would suggest is that they put on a toilet seat with a lid. Since the bathroom was so small and no place to put things, I was so afraid of something falling into the toilet!

We enjoyed a night at Shea’s. The staff was friendly and helpful; offered plenty of information about the area of ideas of how we could spend our time. The room was large and cozy, and the bed was extremely comfortable!

Clean, good condition. Right off hiway, on the water. Tiny room.

The rooms of the two couples were VERY small and furnished in a very spartan manner: no bureau, no telephone, no cover over toilet, no shelves or counter in bathroom for toiletries, two straight-backed chairs. Did have TV and the bed was comfortable; located across the street from Woodman's seafood restaurant. The city was flushing the hydrants and the water in the bathroom was disgustingly brown. When brought to the attention of the manager, she said it would clear up soon - it took two days, but there was no offer of bottled water to brush your teeth until we pressed the issue. Price for this lodging in fall of 2017 was $140 plus tax per night.

It was an amazing trip, stay and experience! So close to the water, the staff was friendly and helpful and prices were low for everything they offer.

Excellent staff in the office when it was time to check in... Very informative and helpful. I always appreciate it because it really sets the start of the vacation. Only complaint could be the rooms aren't very dark at night as the outside lighting can get through the blinds, didn't effect sleep though. Thanks for a great stay!

Hello - sorry about that! I have provided shelves in rooms with out the covers but totally understand your point.. as we continue to renovate all the motel rooms (of which 9 have been done, 6 to go) (-: bathroom renovations will make this a non-issue in the future. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay with us and the Cape Ann area.
