We have stayed here several times and find the accommodation and location, for us, perfect. There have been reviews saying staff are not the friendliest, but this has not been our experience - until this trip. The lady on the desk at night was the exception, she would greet us as we walked in, otherwise we were invisible. One lady, I never got close enough to read her name badge, would actually move off to do something else as we approached the desk, leaving someone else to come over. One morning, being determined to be noticed, I said good morning but was ignored. I said it again and the lady said "we were talking". Most hotels train staff to stop what they are doing to acknowledge visitors - it seems that here the opposite applies - find something to do to ignore them. It will not put us off coming here, as we like it in spite of reception, but not because of it. And all other staff, restaurant, cafe and shop are very friendly, it is clean, spacious and has good facilities.
We were very comfortable in our room. Very silent, quiet, clean, large enough for a short stay. The hotel location was good. The restaurant was good. We did not use the spa, but some of our friends did and they said it was very good..
I know the hotel accommodation is a little dated but the size of the rooms and the price make up for it. Service is extremely good and so is the food. So don't get put off by some negative feedback - you do get a lot for your money!
This hotel has many parkingspaces outside. Inside hotel they have a hairdresser next to the reception. The special about this hotel is that its located inside a complex of senior apartments . Hotel rooms are flats within a big senior complex.
Enjoyed our stay. Wellness centre open until 2200. Was ideal for us as we only arrived at 2030. Gave us enough time for a swim and sauna. We will be back. Could do with some bigger pillows but not bad overall.
We booked in to this hotel but did not realize it was a retirement community too. Room very nice but set up for people of retirement age. Just would have been good to know at the time of booking. The lady that booked us in was very unfriendly when we booked in too.
Very nice hotel with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Kids loved the pool/jacuzzi and staff made us welcome at breakfast. I would definitely go back however I would not book a room above the entrance as it was loud with delivery vans coming and taxis arriving during the night. Otherwise superb place.
Gave two stars as hotel was lovely, very clean with very spacious rooms and comfy beds. If it wasn't for this I would have given 1 star! Didn't find the staff very welcoming. Traveling as part of a football competition with 13 boys and 13 adults we booked the hotel based on the location and the fact that there was a swimming pool so we decided to pay abit more for the facilities. The website didn't mention that children were not allowed in the pool however after 20mins we were asked to leave (the children weren't overly loud or acting daft) on the way out the staff were extremely rude gather in a group whispering. I would not recommend staying in this hotel if u have children! as I was absolutely appalled. Would not visit this hotel again for this reason. MAKE IT CLEAR IN YOUR WEBSITE IF YOU DONT WANT CHILDREN STAYING WITH YOU.
We stayed for a weekend in July, to attend a football tournament with 13 children. This hotel is lovely, it is clean, spacious and the rooms are great. However it is a strange place having a home for the elderly attached which we did not realise as we'd booked through a 3rd party site that made no mention of this. We tried to use the swimming pool on the saturday afternoon but were told to leave as 7 children in the pool was too loud and the other guests did not like children in the pool area. (They were being good, and following the rules!) We were disappointed but we got them out, on our departure from the pool area, we over heard staff laughing at us and gossiping, the duty manager however was lovely and agreed that was unprofessional took the matter in hand. This is a very nice hotel and on the whole the staff were brilliant, but it is a hotel for couples, not groups or families. The rooms are big enough for families, but they are not keen on children. The hotel likes people to be very very very quiet, if you are chatting at a whisper great, but any louder!!!! Perfect if you want peace and quiet. A message to the Manager Benedict Pihnouf deserves a pay rise! He is awesome and could not have been more helpful. He helped to organise food when we arrived late after a delayed flight and your restaurant being closed, and he looked after our transport needs. A lovely chap.
This is the second time we have stayed here. The suite is amazing - spotless, spacious and quiet. Well furnished in a contemporary style there is a living /dining room with kitchen area (not equipped with cooking utensils, but these may be hired) good sized bedroom and a large wet room. Located in a peaceful setting, yet just a few minutes walk to the city centre, the location is difficult to beat too. Everything is available on site, a small shop, good restaurant, cafe, serving really good cakes and smaller meals, a bar and seating area. Also a pool, hairdressers spa, and much more. I know that some people have mentioned that it is disconcerting having older folk around - we had to share a lift with two residents on one occasion - hardly a problem. Internet is a little slow, but we purchased a faster option for 20 euros for the week. Sorted!! In my last review I mentioned that the staff were not as friendy as they could be - but we could not fault them on this occasion. We will certainly be returning - it caters for all our wishes and whims!
