From check in to check out this was a great stay. Good room , clean , quite and with a great view. Got a couple beers - the last of the the real beer makers left in the region - on recommendation of the manager - nice. Good breakfast with many choices. Parking is a benefit , a little tight. The hotel location just outside the ramparts which makes walking into town a breeze and access to the wine road is simple.
We were looking for a stopover place on our way home after a motorcycle trip in Italy and Switzerland. We've already visited Eguisheim some years ago (also on a motorcycle trip) but we decided to stay the night there. We were able to park our two motorcycles in a little covered corner in the courtyard behind the hotel where they would be safe and dry for the thunderstorm that passed a few hours later. Perfect. We were greeted by Anthony in a friendly manner (we loved his sense of humour and conversations) and were shown our three-bed room on the road side of the hotel. You could tell the room was decorated recently and with hints to the surrounding landscape monuments. The bathroom may have look a bit dated but it was very clean and toiletries and bath-linen were there for all three of us so it suited us just fine. After dropping all the luggage and changing into regular clothes, we went for a stroll in the medieval village of Eguisheim. We decided to return to the hotel to have our apéro there on the covered terrace in the courtyard, followed by dinner. Anthony had some nice wine suggestions which we followed and we were not disappointed. Dinner was also great, we all enjoyed it very much and would recommend eating here any time. Compliments to the chef! The next morning we had a nice breakfast with plenty of choice. We'd gladly return here, be it for sleeping or eating, or even sipping on a glass of wine, you can't go wrong at this hotel! Little side-adventure: I was so relaxed on the departure day that I forgot my smartphone in the room (I actually blame all that good wine we had the night before ;-) ). Luckily the cleaning ladies found it and gave it to the hotel reception, for which I'm very grateful. It wasn't until I arrived at home I noticed I forgot it, but Anthony and Adeline were kind enough to send it back to me via courrier. Thanks again for everything!
Nice comfortable room with all amenities ! Very quiet even on road side ! Well situated for visit the region ! A good breakfast ! Nice people and a good atmosphere ! All you need for a nice weekend !!
With the parking behind the hotel and situated just out of the city center, this hotel is our favorite in the neighborhood with a good quality/price ratio and the very friendly and personal servce. Recommend to ask for a room at the back with a small terrace. The owner runs the restaurant and especially in summer time we had a good time having dinner outside. Sometimes a bit busy and besides some small reparations in the rooms that are needed, we could not find any negative points.
We stayed here in December 2016 for 2 nights while visiting local Christmas markets. Our room faced the main street and was large, clean, and comfortable. There was plenty room to sit and enjoy a bottle of local wine. The hallway lights are on motion detectors, and the carpet and curtains are a dark color, which made the entire building more home-like (as opposed to chain hotels that are bright and industrial-like). The staff are friendly but not pushy. This hotel is on the edge of the pedestrian area where the Christmas market was located, yet was easily accessible to the main road to other towns, which was perfect! We liked the location because it was not crowded, and was easy to drive around, yet was centrally located to other towns. There is a small parking lot out back. We did not go to the restaurant here, so cannot comment on the food. We booked Hotel Hostellerie des Comtes directly through their website the day before arrival for a last-minute trip to Alsace, and were happy with their responsiveness to our request. This hotel was a very good value, and we recommend staying here. The town has few restaurants, and you will definitely need a reservation anyplace in Éguisheim during the Christmas market season. The local market vendors and store owners were all very friendly, and the town is quite picturesque and enjoyable to stroll through. Éguisheim was a perfect central location for the other Christmas markets we visited in Colmar, Ribeauvillé, Mulhouse, Kayserberg, Obernai, and Riquewehr.
Stayed overnight there on the way to Switzerland and Provence. Clean house with lovely shower. The dining room did not look very inviting, it is dark and seemed not having been aired thoroughly for quite a long time. Sadly on the terrace we couldn't enjoy a drink on our arrival as it was reserved for people having dinner. Think they should give preference to people staying in their hotel not only for eating but for drinking, too. (Coming back they did not serve drinks on the terrace either although it was nearly empty.) As the female staff was very unfriendly we decided to have dinner somewhere else. Breakfast was ok, just the ordinary choice but with fresh coffee. Breakfast buffet was not well looked after as i. e. the croissants went quickly (there was a group staying there) and it took a long time till they were filled up.
It was not an incredible experience. I ate a tarte flambée and my husband chose an expensive entrecôte full of grass (for the waitress was pretty normal that entrecôte had grass!!!!). Salty bred. The dessert was an ice (I hardly could find it) with myrtles and lots of chantilly. The best part was the alsacian wine. Expensive dinner. Friendly staff. Don't recommend this restaurant.
We lost our B&B reservation and Hotel des Comtes came to the rescue. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. We had a lovely view of the castle ruins and a stork nest too! They also served a nice continental breakfast. The location is excellent and there's free parking.
We arrived a bit later in the evening to find the lobby empty and dark and the doors locked. It took a few minutes for the attendant to answer the door, but he was very kind and courteous. When we opened the door to our room we were assaulted with a smell of what I can only describe as a frat house. It smelled overwhelmingly of cheap cologne, and didn't really fade even with the window open. For a person with an aversion to strong odors, I found this very unsettling. We left the window open when we went out to dinner and it STILL smelled when we got back almost 5 hours later! The odor did fade by the evening of our second night... The bathroom was nice, clean, with a very large shower that was pretty perfect for a romantic weekend in our favorite little Alsace village. The breakfast was included and was typical; meats, cheeses, croissants, all very tasty. I would have preferred fresh coffee and was secretly happy when the automated coffee machine stopped working and I got a freshly brewed cup. The staff is kind and attentive. I wish the room hadn't smelled so bad!
We actually had quite a pleasant stay. The room was on the third floor, quiet and on the back side of the house overlooking the courtyard. However, the room was incredibly overheated when we arrived and smelled strongly of some kind of flowery room freshener. I mean it was overwhelming! It also didn't go away after the first night and hit you in the face every time you entered the room. Heating seemed to be either on or off especially the heating in the bathroom. Apart from that, both room and bed were comfortable enough and of an adequate size. Breakfast was also adequate with a selection of fresh fruit, cheese, meat, yogurt, cereal etc. All in all apart from the smell of the room i would have given it a point more however at 90 euros a night, the stay was a little too expensive for what it offered..
