Facility is dated and under renovation, door keys did not work consistently or on exterior doors, panhandler in the parking lot was harassing guests, staff were mediocre in demeanor and helpfulness, inflexible on late check out.
great place.very friendly staff.good location for getting aroud the city.quiet at night time.
hotel is super great.clean, quiet, freindly awesome staff.good bang for your buck!
We stayed at this hotel for one night as we were staying with another friend. I found our bed hard and lumpy and woke up with a super sore back. The hotel was outdated and needs upgrading. The staff wasn't overly friendly or anything but it was an alright stay.
The staff are so accommodating & pleasant. I liked how they remembered my name to say hello when I paced the desk. They accommodated a room change quickly & efficiently. So close th WEM, lots of great shopping & restaurants.
friendly staff, good location, clean room, nice pool
I was not happy with my room but I cannot complain as I checked in early and they said it was the only room they had available. I was welcome to move once a better room came available but was already settled in. Other than my room, the rest of the hotel looked in good condition and the location was very convenient. My room was 2 start but the rest of the hotel looked 3 stars
Everything was excellent in this hotel. We had a poolside room with sliding doors out to the pool area. Nice room with a sofa and sitting area. Liked that there was a Denny's at this location. Parking was also good. Location excellent for West Edmonton Mall.
Our family really loved the pool and inner courtyard! Even though the hotel is older, it has had recent renovations making it pretty stylish and comfortable. Nice exercise room as well. Staff were very friendly. Wish the rooms were a little larger, allowing for a double-queen option (two double beds are a little small for our family). Also wish that you could get a fridge and microwave in the rooms (didn't see that option but didn't ask either).
The hotel is very old. The lobby look beautiful but the rooms are not. The AC system is just a funky window AC unit. In the first room I had a doulbe payned window with 1 payne broken out of it. You could easily hear all the noise outdoors and they are doing construction on the hotel. I was on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator in the entire hotel. It's maze like and confusing. There are several entrances though, so after many days of being there you will figure a fast place to park and get up to your room. But again, you will be going up stairs. I complained and got a new room that had a whole window but you could see there is a big space under the AC unit. Basically any spider, insect, small mouse etc could walk into the room. I will say that I never saw anything but 1 fly. But still, not acceptable. It's a 2 start hotel, with the exception that it's clean. I will give the maids their credit. The room was always clean. No issues with anything else. Basically the hotel is just in disrepair. If you don't care that much and you get a great price it's probably fine. If you are a little bit picky, this place is not going to be good. Once more problem, the internet basically doesn't work. I got connected but it's so slow that you can go down the street to Starbucks , get on the internet, search for what you were looking for, get your answer, drive back to the hotel, all in the time that the hotel's internet service is still waiting for a reply.
Started out less than expected...no wash cloths, towels, extra blankets...took 2 calls & 1 trip to desk to get the needed items. I was fairly tired & less than patient due this, however, I think the desk personnel had me 'beat' on that. We had room cleaning, etc done every other day, & it went well after 1st day. Having access to Denny's was a good advantage!!
Very close (walking distance) to a lot of shopping areas including West Edmonton Mall. We only had a basic room which was adequate for our needs but did not have a "wow" factor. The furniture was old and made me homesick. AC was a little old and even on the highest setting was not as comfortable as we had hoped. We traveled for shopping purposes so on that sense the room met our needs as a place to sleep and store our goods.
Our cleaning staff was fantastic, and the rooms were very clean. The pool area was one of the most beautiful I have seen in a long time. the hotel was very close to some major attractions in Edmonton. The check-in staff was great and helped us out with directions. I wish they offered 2 queen sized beds instead of just 2 double and it would have been nice if the rooms were a little bigger, and bighter. But we really enjoyed our stay and would definately stay there again.
The renovations make a noticeable difference to the hotel (including comfortable mattresses.) The grandchildren (6-9 yrs) were very happy wth the pool/courtyard and the fitness room was well-equipped for the adults. With Denny's being part of the hotel, there is some activity 24 hrs but we weren't disturbed. Very courteous front desk. The last test will be this winter- to see if it is warm on a cold winter's night. The air conditioning was in need of repair this summer in this room.
nice friendly place to stay, will stay there again
The Hotel is very awkward in that it has stairs and half landing stairs and no Elevator. The hotel layout is confusing. I asked for a quiet room and one morning I had a garbage truck picking up garbage outside my room at 5:30-6am. and the same day i asked for a 7am wake up and head the person next door get a 6am wake up so the noise was an issue.
