The staff are the reason for the 10 Sam , Timmi, and our waiter in the brasserie - all exceptional.

It was beautiful on the outside and the front desk staff was really friendly and helpful. Rooms are fine and clean, just outdated. Just do not have dinner here - the service is very slow, the waiters were inattentive and the food is not great.

The looks of the castle was nice compared. The amenities were pathetic. There ropes course was run down and down right dangerous if anyone wanted to use them. Their walking paths were non-existent. There wasn't any tea offered in the room to enjoy when you woke up as was every other castle hotel, B&B & other hotels in the are offered. The breakfast was held down in the basement which although could have passed for a bar experience was was dark for a morning breakfast experience. For the amount of money that was paid (almost $240 (American) per night it was a complete let down and I could have received better accomodations elsewhere.

Your staff made our stay extra special. Especially the Lads in the restaurant. Loved them all and we are already thinking of a return Visit.

Lovely quiet setting with park like walking trails relatively close to Edinburgh.

Melville Castle is beautiful, the staff was excellent, food great . We met interesting people even got invited to a wonderful Scottish Wedding at the Castle and became friends with a best sellling New York Times author..

We so enjoyed our stay at Melville Castle. Loved everything about it. The restaurant was fantastic and front desk very helpful. Only down side was we did not rent a car and had to rely on taxi's. No uber in area. We knew it was quite a way from city center but just didn't realize how far it really was. Room was clean and bathroom looked new. Will definitely stay there again.

Although this is a castle, the room is very modern. I liked the bathroom a lot. The walkaway and the stairs are the usual layout, but very interesting.

Great place to send the night, tucked away in a valley with a river flowing by. Would recommend
