Stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend over the New Year period. Not too far from the city centre, easily commutable via bus and taxi. Our room was nice, a standard holiday inn, but was clean, comfortable and the staff we encountered were all pleasant. Breakfast selection is ample and of a good quality too, not something I'm overly fussed about but my boyfriend is. Overall, a very nice stay.
This was out first visit to this hotel - they were in the middle of renovating the reception and eating area so it was quite novel to meet reception in one of the ground floor rooms. We booked directly with the hotel - double rooms here £75 two weeks before and £65 on the day for another couple. These rates included a continental breakfast - a cooked breakfast was not on offer because of the renovations. The hotel was clean comfortable - the staff were welcoming and pleasant. Overall we got good value - but I suspect that was in part owed to the ongoing renovations and the low season part of the year. The car park was good - but my guess is that it would not be able to accommodate parking for all rooms. Luckily there is plenty available unrestricted parking around about the hotel. I would recommend it - but I have my other preferences in the area which was countered by my she who must be Obama!
Stayed here Saturday 27th January. 2 adults with 4 kids - 3 being teenagers. Couldn't fault the hotel. Plenty of beds and comfortable. For us breakfast was great, help yourself to as much as you want. Croissants, pastrys, cereals, fruit, yogurt, tea/coffee Loved the location, away from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh. 2 minute to the shopping centre and 10 minutes into Leith. We had a nice meal here. Edinburgh 10 minutes by car or bus service outside the hotel. All of this, paid for on a cheap budget. Will definetly return.
Hotel is good value, but a bit "out of town". At busy times - like heading to Theatre - will cost over £15 for a taxi. We booked this time, and were then subsequently informed of extensive building work in public areas. This meant that lounge area and cooked breakfast were not available. Instead, a "boxed breakfast. Was delivered to bedroom - this turned out satisfactory. Parking reduced due to builders vehicles -which are "supposed" to be limited to rear of building, but, in fact a number of builders vehicles encroached onto main / front parking area. Entrance to building is marred by large amount of unsightly discarded cigarettes on path at entrance door. Room clean and adequately appointed - bed, slightly hard. Good bathroom. Staff friendly. Though, as stated, frequent visitors in the past - we will probably book alternative hotel, in town, for future trips.
We stayed here for one night on a weekend trip to Edinburgh and were very pleased with our accommodation. For a "no-frills" chain room, we got a very comfortable bed and a decent-size bathroom with everything working perfectly, very good shower, all at a reasonable price. Due to ongoing refurbishment, there was no restaurant available but we had a "picnic" breakfast delivered to our room, excellent idea. As we had booked before the refurbishment was announced, we were able to get a £10 discount to compensate for the reduced facilities. We will definitely stay here again. Handy for Ocean Terminal shopping and cinema or a visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia, as well as being on the 34 bus route, which takes you right to Princes Street and Waverley station.
Stayed here on Christmas eve and despite time of year very well priced one night stay.Had slight problem with noisy kids at 23.00hrs from room opposite running about corridor, not much hotel can do if some guests do not respect others peace and quiet.Breakfast now features bacon which makes it more like a real start to the day.Staff again helpful and friendly.
Had a 2 night break here and lived the location of the hotel. Explored Edinburgh with easy transport system. Bus stop outside hotel. Adequate breakfast , lovely clean hotel and friendly staff Would recommend
a beautifully located hotel on the waterfront..it has well kept rooms and the staff is polite..breakfast has though limited options but overall a comfortable stay is assured..the city travel is also available..
Stayed here for two nights and we really enjoyed our stay. When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff who checked us in very quickly. We were aware of the renovations but were a little disappointed when we found out there was no hot breakfast. The staff gave us a list of items for a more continental style breakfast which was delivered to our room. The breakfast arrived on time every morning. The room was lovely and modern with everything we needed. Location was good with the bus to the city just outside the hotel and the ocean terminal shopping centre across the road. Overall this hotel was excellent value for money, the staff were friendly and accommodating and I would stay here in the future, I think it will be perfect once the renovations are complete.
Arrived Wednesday 3rd January check in was quick and easy went to our room then went out the hotel is upgrading the breakfast area so no cooked items but cereal croissants muffins and Danish pastries and fruit yogurts all very good the staff go out off there way to help u every way they can would definitely recommend this hotel to others
