Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel

The hotel is fine and nicely located at Grassmarket. But they forgot my wake up call and overall the service was not up to standard. Moreover, their breakfast is rather lame and expensive.

Close to Waverly station. Right near the castle. Hope on/hop off tours pick up right in front of it. Loads of pubs nearby- good and bad because that is a loud nightlife scene. Walking distance to royal mile. The hotel was clean. I enjoyed my stay.

Nice, clean hotel in the middle of all the activity. Easy walk to the castle, or for the nightlife along Grassmarket. About a 15 minute walk from the airport tram stop to the hotel. Leave the tram at Princess Street exit, walk towards the castle on Mound Street (immediately left when you exit the tram), once across the valley, turn right on the first road you see and circle up to the top of the hill. Turn right towards the castle entrance and then left to go down the stairs (Castle Wynd). At the bottom of the stairs you will be on Grassmarket street and the hotel is across the street on your left. Buy the roundtrip airport tram ticket (8.50 pounds). The airport tram ticket is NOT a single day ticket, you can use it any day you return to the airport. Tram from airport to Princess stop is under 30 minutes and is right outside the airport terminal. The only problem is that the ticket machines only take coins or cards, no paper money. Another option is a 20 pound taxi ride from the airport to the hotel. As an aside, there are ATM machines just before you exit the airport for the tram (or rental car area) so you can withdrawal pounds. No need to line up for the single ATM in the baggage claim area) Hotel staff were very friendly. Hotel was clean. My double bed room was nice and spacious. The beds are movable, so was able to separate the two beds so we had two singles. Nice bathroom. Easy check out. If I am ever back in the city, I will stay at this hotel.

After driving around this city a bit, there's no better location within it than the Apex City of Edinburgh. Right in the heart of one of the most charming districts, there is plenty of food and good authentic liquor to be had nearby. You're also a short walk to all of the central areas of the town, including the castle hill. The hotel itself is fairly modern with good service and well cared for common areas. The rooms are also nice and large and well taken care of.

The location was central to so many things to do in Edinburgh, it was perfect. I'm going to try to stay at this hotel every time I'm in town.

it is a good hotel with very nice service and also the location is good as well. Thanks for everything, I will recommend to my family and friends. Hope have another chance to come back again!

My wife and I went to Edinburgh for a week on our anniversary. The Apex is located in the grassmarket which is a fun part of the old city. Plenty of pubs and shops just outside the door, and under a five minute walk to Saint Giles, the castle or the theater. The hotel provides parking for 10 pounds a day, but there are only 8 spots and it's first come! Nice in hotel restaurant. They do offer a modern gym, but it is located in their sister hotel 50 feet down the sidewalk. Overall, we were very pleased.

Great breakfast and centrally located. Near Waverly Train Station, and Grass Market

Really evrything worked good. Worth talking about was the great loction

The location of the hotel is absolutely great. It has a very nice view of he castle and being very close to the active places it is mot in the middle of the nouse

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was nice and helpful. Location was good. We walked everywhere. Castle, grocery store, restaurants all close by. Took a taxi (4 Euros) to bus stop and then bus to airport. Worked out great. We would stay there again.

Last minute booking on the train from Glasgow and the hotel was good to this weary, jet lagged traveler. My only gripe was that I mentioned that my luggage had been left on the train (my fault) and while the staff said they were keen to help out, they ended up making me wait 45 minutes to get to my room for "official" check in time. All the while I knew they weren't near capacity.

I was on a long trip to Europe, staying in many hotels in various places, and this was my favorite! It's hip and modern yet warm and cozy. And the location couldn't be better. The staff was great, too. I heartily recommend.

Nice hotel, good location, nice stuff and very good restaurant menus :)

Apex City Hotel was was wonderfully located for seeing historic Edinburgh...and the view is great. I could see the castle from my room. The room was clean, light, a bit modern, not overdone. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'll stay at Apex the next I visit Edinburgh.

They did not have rooms availability when I got there, I had to go to another hotel and expent a night there. I came back the day after and in general everything fine, good reception, good room and good restaurant, best location.

The hotel location, literally in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, couldn't be more convenient. It is within ten minutes walking distance of most of the key tourist sites in central Edinburgh and it's own neighbourhood is filled with interesting stores and restaurants. The room was surprisingly spacious, well outfitted and very quiet. It compared very favourably to Hilton and Holiday Inn hotels in which I've stayed in Scotland.

Great location near Edinburgh's major attractions including the castle. Rooms and parking area are small, but that's ok in a walkable city where time should be spent outside. Room was clean and modern. Free WiFi very helpful.

I was only staying for one night so I wanted the best experience I can get. This place is in the heart of grass market. I really loved the fact the castle was so close. Everything looked very new and modern. It was very quiet at night.

clean hotel, spacious room, great location. The "queen sized bed" was two twins pushed together, and you can feel the springs in the mattress. overall still comfortable and a great trip
