Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Airport

3.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

I needed accommodations for the night prior to my departure back to California. I was very pleased to find a welcoming staff that was willing to help me with directions into the City of Edinburgh via bus. The room was nicely appointed and the restaurant facilities offered a wide selection. Unfortunately the front desk did not have adaptors for American electrical appliances and I found myself unable to use my laptop because of a low battery. My only other recommendation would be to clean up the patio area for those of us that wish to enjoy the sunshine.

Clean, efficient and simple with easy access to aireport.

Had early flight so booked a stay here. Continental breakfast available starting at 4 am and shuttle service available to airport. Very convenient. Rooms were spotless. Easy to find as plenty of signage visible from main road. Wake up calls available. Safes in room.

Close to airport. Friendly staff. Food offered is adequate but not great.

Decent price; did not tell us that they'll charge 2.5 pounds to take the shuttle to the airport (it's free to get to the hotel). Food mediocre at best and expensive for what they give you.

Perfect place for our last day in Scotland. Quick shuttle to the Airport for car return, catching a flight or getting a bus to The Royal Mile. The Lounge and resturant are nice also.

The room was tiny, found hairs on spare pillow, meal was OK but service was not the best. We had 4 different servers so no one knew what we wanted or came to see if we needed anything else. We had a very tight connection to make in Dublin & when I asked to print my boarding pass I was told the computer was away being repaired & they would not do it at the desk for me. I tried several times to get help with this & the manager refused. They wanted to charge us 10 pounds each for a continental breakfast and the shuttle was 1.5 pounds each to the airport. On checking out at 6 AM the desk clerk , who was pleasant, finally agreed to let us get our boarding passes much to the disgust of the other employee. I would say that for the most part the staff were pleasant, it was management that did not want to help.

If you are vacationing in Edinburgh, this is not the place for you. It's a very nice hotel but it is out by the airport and there is NOTHING nearby, no stores, no other restaurants except theirs (which is very nice, by the way). We were looking for a place to buy snacks for the room and there was no store or snack shop anywhere nearby. But the room was clean and modern, the staff friendly and helpful. Very nice hotel.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable, and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. It is also very close to the airport, and although we could see planes taking off and landing we could hardly hear them thanks to dual pane windows. It is, however, a little pricey, including the bar and restaurant, and unless you have your own transportation you are stuck there because it's in an industrial area and there isn't much else nearby. Except an even pricier Hilton.

Convenient location to airport with average amenities, but not a place to stay as a base for a vacation.

incredibly high priced. almost six pounds for a bowl of soup.

Very convenient to the airport. Friendly staff. the rooms are a little small but for 1 night it was fine.
