DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh Airport

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our tour of Scotland. The hotel is a short walk from the car rental offices and a short walk from the EDI terminals. Despite the proximity, there was no noise from the airport or roadways. While the hotel is modern and nicely designed, there are things they could improve: 1) The water from the bathroom sink flows out of the spigot only 2cm from the edge of the basin. You can't wash your toothbrush or razor, or even your hands, without pressing against the basin. 2) The location of the airport shuttle is not indicated, so we walked. 3) The lobby's morning coffee was empty, and there's no tea of coffee in the room. 4) a "do-not-disturb" style door hanger offers extra membership points if you hang it by 2:00 a.m. announcing that you don't need your room cleaned the following day. Who looks at those details the day before to know about the rules? Not me. I put it on the door the next after I awoke and headed out for the day. Didn't get those bonus points.

We booked this hotel on our last night due to it's proximity to the airport. Upon arrival at 8:30pm we were greeted by a friendly concierge who gave us a cookie (a little strange, but ok), the lobby/ bar area was well taken care of. The room had a 70s dated decor vibe, but was clean. The TV was on when we got yo the room which was also a little odd so I shut it off. Later, the TV did not work. It was broken. The Wi-Fi signal was so weak it didn't work. I stared at the ceiling until I fell asleep. In the morning we went down for breakfast before our flight. Apparently, I didn't book with breakfast included, my bad. When I told the concierge the TV and wi-fi didn't work, she said she was sorry, but that was it. I was actually a bit stunned. You know what would have made it less annoying to not get everything you paid for? Someone trying to make it right. Considering there were cards all over the place begging for reviews and the chance to make it right if it wasn't right, you would have thought they would have been all over it. Breakfast would have been a low cost solution, but nobody thought of that. We went to the airport hungry, tired and annoyed.

Excellent short stay: close to both downtown and airport

The hotel and staff were great, as was the bar and restaurant next to the lobby. There is an airport shuttle that runs every 10-15 minuets, which was nice. The only "complaint" would be that the room was a little warm, with only a little table top fan to cool yourself.

If you plan to tool around Edinburgh, but have a really early flight, I would highly recommend this! Their shuttle starts at 0300 and runs very 15 minutes, or it is a relatively short walk. It was very convenient!!!

The location is great waking distance from the airport, also there is a free transfer service to the airport. The staff very helpful and professional. The room were comfortable and clean.

Great proximity to airport, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The airport was walking distance (although it does have a shuttle) to Edinburgh airport. It was clean and comfortable. It has a nice sports center also. The restaurant is good but is expensive. We often go over to the airport as it is less money but obviously the food is not as special.

This was a very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable room, though a little outdated. Staff were very helpful. Service was good in all areas, except the front desk. We started our week vacation there and decided to end there also, as we were flying out of the airport there and needed to return the rental car. When we made the reservation for the end of the week, they didn't get the dates correct, but were able to find us a room anyway. I would stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel because of the price and proximity to the airport as we were flying out very early. It was efficient and they provided a shuttle to the airport which made things simple.

We arrived at dusk and wanted a close airport before braving a rental car in daylight. This was just what we needed. Also enjoyed a good dinner and breakfast.

Great hotel. Little expensive for us, we were just looking for a place to crash near the airport. But, everything was top notch.

The hotel was pleasant enough for a quick one night stay near the airport. The location is so close to EDI that we simply walked from the hotel front door to the airport entrance in 5 minutes. Easy peasy!

The hotel is wonderfully convenient to the Edinburgh airport, which makes it a perfect place to stay just before or just after a long flight. It's even walkable, though a shuttle-bus is also available. Our room was very comfortable. Staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. The food was very good. Aside from the fact that wifi is subpar, it's hard to imagine a better airport hotel.

Impressively good gym and pool, including trainers. The room was functional, though the bathroom showed signs of wear (crack in the sink, stained or missing tile grout). It's a ~20 min cab ride to downtown Edinburgh.

While somewhat pricey, I use this hotel whenever I am flying out of EDI on an early morning flight the next day, and reckon that the higher cost is offset by saving a day of car-rental. Reasons I am a repeat customer include: excellent and helpful staff; clean well maintained rooms; very convenient to airport and rental car drop-off (you can check in, put luggage in room, return rental car, and walk back to hotel - a 5 min walk at most- within 20 - 30 mins). If you are traveling light, then the airport terminals are no more than a 15 min walk, but there is a shuttle service you can request from front desk if you have more luggage, or weather is bad (allow 20-30 mins from time of request for shuttle to arrive, and 5-10 mins to get to terminals). Only quibble is that for the price, I would expect to have in-room internet access wifi included in rate, not an add-on. However there is free wifi in the lobby and public lounge area.

Everything about this stay was excellent--exactly what we needed and wanted. Staff superb and the food was reasonable and excellent.

We chose to stay in the Edinburgh Airport Hilton to catch an early flight. The location, within walking distance of the terminal and rental car turn-in, was perfect. The shuttle service to the airport, while hardly needed, was prompt and fine. The staff was good Free WiFi was only in the lounge, had to pay for it in the room. The shower was moldty. The hallway carpet was mended with strapping tape. Worst of all was the lumpy, cheap twin mattress that seemed to have some sort of ridge down the center. No way to get comfortable. Still, I'd stay there agiain for an early flight.

staff very attentive Food very good Nice facilities

The room was clean, well-appointed and comfortable. Hotel a 5-minute walk to the airport, also free shuttle service. We ate a $60 lunch, then walked over to the airport to get sandwiches because we were still hungry. The hotel lunch was skimpy and expensive, hate to think what dinner would be like. We ate breakfast in the airport as well.
