A very good base for Edinburgh west end and city centre. Very comfortable for all ages.(9yrs to 86yrs) Comfortable beds and ideal cooking facilities. My family will definitely be staying again on future family reunions.
The website portrays these apartments much more luxurious than they are. As with other reviews on here, carpets stained, footprints on the walls etc. The bathroom was ok, clean and shower ok. The couches are very uncomfortable and the beds extremely soft and wheels on the, which is a little un nerving. You cannot access some of the plugs due to furniture being in the way and the windows in the bedrooms although can open can't because of the beds headboards. Cheap furniture rickety furniture too Customer service equally as shoddy and only one member of staff was helpful out of the few we came into contact with. Be warned that if you arrive before 3pm you can only leave your luggage in a shared room with code entry so not safe. We arrived after an early flight and had to leave our luggage there to save carrying it all around Edinburgh until our room was ready. This was not evident on any booking or the website. Luckily high priced items like laptops the staff begrudgingly let us leave in the back room of the reception. We were told we would be called when our room was ready, but we called after a few hours and being really tired after travelling and our room was ready, so we were not called when they said the room was ready. No hairdryer, but was replaced quickly and chap pat tested it there and then as brand new, so this was the most efficient part of our experience Walls are VERY thin and could hear everything. Only two keys to room although has 4 single beds, so make sure you travel around and come back to apartment with others! Very near EICC luckily, only real positive to the stay
My husband and i stayed in this property for 1 night , the carpet in the apartment was not clean, the bed was too small for two people and the bed sheets and pillow cases were not entirely clean (with some hair on the sheets and few stains) but considering my husband and i arrived late and were leaving early the next morning it wasn't practical to ask for a change of sheets or apartment since the carpets were not clean. We would expect cleaner sheets and more renovated carpets for a property that charged us £135 per night. the bathroom was clean and pleasant, by the time we were showered we tried the wifi password and that didn't work, we called the reception some 5 times for a period of 45 minutes before we got someone to answer. We were informed that it could be an issue with an apple phone , which was not logical and we explained that it's the case with an android phone only to get a different password which worked :). Last and most importantly the next day we asked to keep our bags and they said we had to drag them to the back of the property which was also not pleasant and to top it off there is a sign on the door that says the property is not responsible for the loss or damage of the bags (not pleasant). The staff that checked us in (Chris) was very friendly however the staff that checked us out were not the best. I just saw some replies from the property to negative complaints, and the way they answer their angry guests is also not friendly nor promising. i am not writing this review in hopes to have the property manager reply to me , more like to have people get a vibe of my experience with Fountain Court Grove
Stayed for two nights. Great location as only a 10min walk to Haymarket station, 30min walk to Murrayfield or about 15 to 20mins into Princess Street. Apartment was spotless and very comfortable. we stayed in 113 so we even had a wee private patio out the back which was great. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Edinburgh.
Had a wonderful family stay here. The apartment is perfect for families in terms of facilities, quality of furnishings is good, location is excellent and offers great value compared with the alternative of being cramped in a single budget hotel room. Only slight niggle was that the room wasn't cleaned to the standard I expected. Management contacted me straight away to apologise and said it would be given a deep clean, but then unfortunately the cleaning staff only addressed one of the areas highlighted. This is the reason I didn't award 5 stars, but overall I would highly recommend.
Surroundings maybe not very interesting or nice, but quiet and with good public transport (from Airport - direct city bus (35) stops 90 m from the hotel; the same bus goes to the Old City). Walk to the Old City - ca 2 km, but some museums are closer. Our apartment (421) - spacious, clean, quiet (facing the rear) , the kitchen well equipped; serviced every day. Beds comfortable; apartment was warm (with 8ºC - 13ºC outside). But: Problems with the wardrobe door (in the bedroom with 2 beds) - an access to (too few) shelves very inconvenient, you have to move the bedside table ! There is no good place for suitcases. Problems with the sliding shower door (in the larger bathroom). Internet poor, unstable
The apartment was small, but adequate for the needs of a short stay. It benefitted from being within walking distance of the city centre, but also had a good bus service, shops and cafes nearby. Secure car parking was available (at extra cost) so we were able to leave the car behind and explore Edinburgh on foot and by public transport. The flat did have the facility to prepare meals, but in the end, we only ate breakfast there, as there were plenty of opportunities to eat out.
The apartament is great, very nice kitchen, bedroons and bathroom. Very comfortable and not far from the centre. TVs in all rooms and living room. The staff were so nice and helpfull. Me and my sister had a great time!
The apartments were very nice but wifi wasn't working and they didn't change the towels left in the bath, the beds weren't made and the bins weren't emptied and they didn't replace the milk which was finished the first day.
Our stay was for one night on 6th May 2017. The apartment was really nice with two bedrooms (two singles and one double bed). Kitchen had all the items required - dishwasher, microwave, kettle etc and the lounge two settees + large flat screen TV. The apartments are located a short walk from the castle, there is a Tesco and Sainsbury express close by. Only two points that marked it down slightly were that the flooring in our particular apartment creaked loudly everywhere we walked and the noisy people we had above us that came back at 2am-4am in the morning slamming doors and shouting outside our window - but you can get these idiots anywhere. Staff were very helpful !!
