Excellent staff very friendly and go out of there way to be nice to you. Food is very good as for the rooms they are very comfortable and the beds are good so if I had to mark it out of ten it's a 9 thank you gary
Just stayed overnight at this hotel. Welcome was nice, friendly staff and very polite. Breakfast was tasty with a generous portion. Room was adequate. Bit dated frim the 80s. Very limiting woth only one plug socket for the entire room. And bed was sinking towards the middle. But overall opinon was not bad. Adequate
Car park not signed so struggled to get it Buildings look like the "Lone Star Motel" from a bad 60's movie where everyone gets murdered Interior didn't appear to have been decorated since the 60's There were no sockets to charge a phone There was a wall mounted electric fire in the bathroom which I thought was illegal The bedding and bathroom were as clean as you could make a shabby room The wifi was to pay for The only upside was Zoe who was helpful and efficient
We always stay here when we go to Hull to visit our son at uni, the location is fantastic the staff are so friendly and we are allowed to take our little dog. Reading some of the recent reviews re staff I find it very hard to believe we are treated like friends by reception and cleaners alike. Yes this place is extremely dated and seems forgotten by the chain, with City of Culture coming I feel it needs a bit of a cash injection as will probably get many guests who will expect a little more for the money. Granted approx £50 a night is very reasonable but the way it is i'm not sure its even worth that. The rooms are cleaned daily and the way the Hotel is, is by no means a reflection on the staff they do their best with what they have to work with. The room could do with more plug sockets too only one is a little inconvenient when you have two people with phones to charge unless you want to turn off the tv! I don't know what to say because this place and its staff do not deserve a bad review but I can't help be a little negative. Also on this occasion whilst we love being able to take our dog we felt a bit trapped as there was an alsatian in the room next door and the lady had it tied to the tree right outside our room and it barked constantly from 8am onwards (so woke us up) to the point where I was a bit scared to leave the room and certainly couldn't go out there with my dog as she was terrified. I realise this is not the hotels fault but maybe she could have been told to be mindful of the other guests I had a word myself with her and she took it inside in the end. Of course we will stay again, for us the pros (convenience and staff) outweigh the cons
I had heard several reviews of this hotel and some were very derogatory but I came with a friend for a couple of days and although we found it tired and a bit dated it had a very comfortable bed which was clean. The bathroom was very clean. The bistro where you could eat breakfast lunch or dinner was acceptable. We had a meal the first night which was tasty and not too expensive.
Booked a double room for Easter Weekend, the rates were the cheapest we could find online. On arrival the place looks like a motel but it's easy to find and has a decent size car park (which is free for guests and is monitored). The reception/restaurant building is clean and professional. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very basic and not the cleanest I have stayed in, but not falling apart by any standard. The bed was clean and comfy, there was a wardrobe, TV, tea and coffee point and desk space. The bathroom was of a similar ilk, not that modern and a bit dirty (for example there were stains on the tiles which could be rubbed off given a spray of some cillit bang). Despite the room being basic and not as clean as other hotels it was cheap and served it's purpose as somewhere to put my head down at night. As the hotel is on a busy road you will undoubtedly hear traffic and people leaving town centre. The restaurant is a different matter all together, that had been updated more than the room I stayed in, it was modern and clean. The food was extremely good, and despite ordering half an hour before the kitchen was due to close the full menu was available, which you don't always get. You get what you pay for, this hotel was half the price of other hotels to stay in but it wasn't the most luxurious. Think of it as staying over at a friends house (crashing in the spare room) and that's what you have, functional and not terrible. It's ideally situated close to town centre so having parked your car you are free to wander around or use local public transport to get around the entire city.
Good hotel more than a bit dated, but clean and very friendly staff. I've stayed here before and I would stay again. Close to town and easy to get to all amenities. We had a bit of business to take care of so we were only there for 2 days
I stayed in campanile for one night. In the morning i went out and when i came back, a member of staff at reception, lady, Black Hair, Bigger built had packed all my belongings into big plastic bags and had rudely ordered me to leave. She said that my belongings was on the floor and that my room looked messy. I told her that hotels don't normally kick people out for having a messy rooms. She rudely ordered me to leave or she would call the police. The dinning area was also very messy, there was orange juice everywhere one the floor. The staff were rude. It was a terrible atmosphere.
Wow where do i start!! the room was very basic but the bed was clean. We decided not to ask about changing room as the whole place looked in need of upgrading. There was only 1 socket at the opposite end of the room to the mirror. The light by the mirror didnt work which we found out later. The bathroom was depressing mould between the tiles and generally in disrepair. THE BED!!!! Oh dear every spring could be felt and heard sleeping for me was impossible. Breakfast next morning wasn't much better , everything was basic and the salt and pepper pots were dirty . Needless to say we will not be going back although the location was good(the only positive thing)
This hotel whilst a bit dated and obviously a budget hotel is worth the money. The rooms are clean as is the bed linen and towels and it is in a good location. The staff are nice and helpful though for some reason there is no all night reception. This caused a problem for me as the missus went to her parents and me to mine but i had the key and expected reception to be open.It may not be the best hotel but it certainly is not the worst.
