"We showed up after a 15 hour drive with a sign saying that all third party bookings are invalid. We talked to the clerk and he said we didn’t have a reservation without even asking for our name. I explained that I talked to staff that morning asking for a ground floor room due to recent surgery. He gave us a key and asked for us to check it out. There was garbage still on tables, the bed had no sheets or pillows. The bathroom had no towels and the toilet paper was wet. Being 10 at night and tires from drive, also unfamiliar with Chicago we had to sleep there for the night. We left promptly at 7 the next morning and lost a nights stay there because of the conditions. Another couple was given the same choice. Their toilet was full of feces and no working ac unit. There is no way I would recommend this place to anyone. I have never had a more horrible experience in customer service, conditions than this visit"

"The host could have been a little more respectful. A lot of comments were made in regards to me requesting some compensation back after coming to the property to my shoes being damaged from a portable air conditioner that blowed out hot air and water on the floor. The portable wasn’t connected to the outside windows to flow in air and the host said “I could have stuck it out the window myself”. Cleaning could have been more tidy however, I wouldn’t blame the hosts for cleaners mess up. Overall, nice home. Hot water is good. but upstairs is extremely hot."

"Chris was a great host, he set up a great space for all sorts of travelers just outside of downtown Chicago. Plenty of space and amenities to make the stay feel like home away from home! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone."
