Accommodations were great and the facilities were outstanding, especially the restaurants. Lots of summer activities (e.g., scenic ski lifts, miniature golf, alpine slide, zipline, and others), but those activities aren't cheap. All shopping in the village is ski and apparel related, which makes sense, but boring.

Great view and condo. Very clean. Got all your needs.

The Hotel was nice, however we didn't have an ice bucket and had to ask for one. Also, no Do Not Disturb sign so had to make one to keep from being disturbed too early. All minor things. Wished that the activities were running during the week rather than just the weekend but it all worked out we had time to check out other areas. Its a very remote area for us but beautiful country... cant wait to go back. Good for the price we paid.

Besides having a urine stain on our bed sheets that we asked the hotel staff to change out, the room was nice. The adjoining room is maybe a little close or needs more sound proofing though because we heard almost every conversation that the other room was having, not to mention being woken up by their dishes every morning. But the view and staff were amazing!!

We stayed in a "studio" which I had called & asked what was the difference & they said there was no difference what so ever. We went & a little bed came out of the wall! I was unimpressed so I asked for a new room with an actual bed. They said they were completely booked, it was only when the sprinklers in our room went off then they had no choice to put me & my husband in another room! That next morning the manager called and felt bad & hooked us up with cheap lift tickets and a $25 gift card. So our overall vacation was alright but I don't think we'll be staying at the resort next year.

We went in the beginning of March for a ski week. The location is PERFECT for skiing. We were on the 5th floor. On the corner overlooking the lits, ticket office, etc. We took the elevator down to the 2nd floor, and we were right in the middle of the ski school shop etc. Again, perfect location. Never saw any staff except for check in. That girl was very friendly and did a great job. Someone was always at the end of the phone and responded to any/all issues. Someone came each day w/ fresh towels and the trash was taken. I never saw that person but it went like clockwork. It was a 1 bedroom apt, very comfortable. Nice , big livingroom. Good size dining area. Kichen area was pretty efficient as well. View out the bedroom and living room windows was fantastic of the ski slopes. Balcony to sit out on out of bothe the bedroom and the ding room. Overall, great ski condo ! (Photo taken on a snowy day from livingroom window)

Hot tub was broken down and the bed had the wrong sheets that were dirty also the room had a awfull smell. The staff did not care and would not discount the outrageous price of 200+ per night.

Excellent location between Silverton and Dunrango. Secured parking and rooms are also very clean. Only problem I had was, Wireless internet is very slow in the room.

For such a beautiful place the room was disappointing. Small and uniniviting. Maid service was awful- no clean coffee cups, towels-= looked like all they did was make up the bed. Need ice buckets and ice machines for the room. Eating places are scarce and not open at all times- if they want to be a year round resort they need to add more service and better pricing.

Studio description neglected to mention murphy bed but once over that, we couldn't complain. Can't beat the beauty of the setting. Great location for exploring both Durango and Silverton/Ouray/million $ highway at a super summer price. Can't figure out why they are minimizing the old Purgatory name.

The scenery was beautiful. The room was very small. The maid service was lacking. My husband and I stayed 3 nights and had to call the front desk 3 times to obtain fresh towels, linens, soap and shampoo as well as toilet tissue! There were no amenities. During the 3 days, we never were able to shop in any of the few stores that were there as they closed at 5:00! There were no activities or bar, and the t.v. was very limited as well. If you only need a shower and bed (which was fitting for Motel 6,), you'll be okay. Make sure you eat and buy necessary grocery/toiletry items in Durango as you won't find them here. However, the young people who were running the place were very friendly and helpful! Our visit was August 2-5, 2011.

Very ordinary. Sink would not drain. Changed our room. Common ice machine didn't work. They brought us ice, but it took forever. No food service at all available there.

The trip would have been a lot better had the room been better. Wasn't worth the money that we paid for it. It didn't even have a microwave and you could hear everything that was being said in the adjoining room. We rode the Durango - Silverton Railroad and loved the ride. Will go back to Durango but not to Purgatory Village.

After a day of fishing and hiking all you want to do is relax and unwind. No better place than the Durango Mountain Resort to do just that. Very peaceful and romantic. We will definetly be back soon. Service was awesome!

Great place to stay. The ski slopes were very close. Parking was close enough that we put all our snow gear in when we took lunch. The staff at the lodge was very professional and courteous. We would recommend this lodge to any one. The only thing that was if you had to go to town it was thirty minutes away.

Beautiful scenery right out the window. You must have a car and be prepared to travel for restaurants and entertainment, There is nothing open at the resort in the fall. The studio apartment has a murphy bed, not the most comfortable, but it is clean and attractive.

We were very happy with the view and location of the village room. The room was cramped with the chairs scooted to the side when the bed was down, but workable. Staff was very nice and suggested always calling directly after booking with a travel internet agency to verify reservations being correct. The resort could use new carpet,as it is worn thru at the door and an update in room but overall was neat for the money. The train ride was beautiful and relaxing. We didn't spend much time there in the room.

We were there for the orientation for Fort Lewis College. The hotel was a great way to get into the outdoors and see it in all it's wonder. room was very cozy and had a warm, comfortable feel about it. The price was a great bonus for such a beatiful package.

Overall our stay at this resort was pretty nice because of how beautiful it was at this location. The room we stayed in was great and it was enough room for the week, although it would be great to have a fridge in the room (only because we stayed a week). The big downfall was that we went in between seasons so that means that this location was trying to get ready for the upcoming season in a month and there was a lot of construction going on in the building we were staying. This meant that around nine or so that they would begin working on the same floor we were on, of course I am sure that the workers had no idea that we were there, there were only two other couples that were at the resort. At one point the power went off in our section of the resort but we decided to go into town so that we didn't have to sit in the dark. Other than that we really enjoyed what this resort had to offer, just suggest to not go in between seasons!

This resort is beautiful! Our room had huge windows that overlooked the village and main ski slope. It was October and the fall colors were stunning. We even enjoyed the snow and rain from our warm room. The rooms are kind of old but they were clean and very spacious. We had 4 adults and 3 toddlers and had plenty of room. I would definitely stay here again.
