My husband and I were Cascade Village's first winter wedding. We were absolutely blown away by how open to the idea Cascade Village's staff was. Unlike other venues, they did not turn us down when we said we wanted to get married outside on New Years Eve. They were actually excited about the idea and very open to helping us with whatever we need leading up to the event. We cannot say enough about how Helpful Shelaine and Ken were day of the wedding. Went above and beyond what we expected as far as help with setting up, making last minute accommodations, and making us truly feel so special on our big day. The venue's beauty speaks for itself, inside and out. It was the perfect venue for having guests stay on the property and not have to worry about drinking and driving. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed staying on the property due to close proximity to each other as well as some of the amenities the lodge had including hot tubs and a game room. 100% recommend this venue to all brides and grooms! Thank you again so, so much Cascade Village Crew.. we love you!
Stayed here one night September 26, 2017. I would not recommend staying here during this time of year if you are a traveler. This ski lodge/motel is meant for the ski crowd during the winter months. As we were headed to Mesa Verde National Park, this accommodation was entirely out of the way and too far to travel. It is located 30 miles outside the city of Durango, Colorado, we arrived around 7pm, the front desk was closed and the desk clerk left us an envelope with code to get into our room. The lighting is atrocious. You cannot see which building you are driving to and the parking beneath the motel is pitch black. Due to the fact we arrived late, we had to travel 3 miles south to the nearest place for food (which closes at 8pm). There are absolutely no services located here. Keep this in mind. Our room was standard. The housekeeper forgot to clean the couch and there were chips crumbs all over the couch and floor. The bathroom had a faulty toilet which needed repair. The room included separate areas for a family space and bedroom. The only bedroom television does not include channels but use of dvd's only. When walking around in the morning, we noticed some tenants who must live here year round. This place is not really a motel but more condo in style with rooms available yet permanent residents. Odd.
The king bed was comfortable, and the sofa sleeper was queen size. The staff at the Columbine Group rental agency was friendly and attentive. The furnishings and decor were nice, and there was a full size fridge. That is unusual for a one bedroom loft. Plenty of parking. Enjoyed our stay very much.
The quality of the units varies widely so try to get as much information about the unit before settling in. The unit I had (346)is very good and has received good maintenance. The only thing I notice was that there were a couple of holes in the patio screen doors. Wi-Fi only in the office.
The property was beautiful with pool, hot tub, and tennis court. Parking was difficult from the unit we rented, approx 50 yards uphill from parking to doorway, making it difficult for my father-in-law to access. All rooms had at least 1/2 flight of stairs to access, again difficult for those with mobility issues. The unit we rented was not furnished with very comfortable beds and the toilets were barely functioning. I would recommend asking for specifics on the unit you will be renting as these are privately owned sublets. The advertised 'free wifi' is only usable in the office lobby, the modem in our room gave barely any signal and the cell service through our provider was spotty.
Stayed in a 3 bedroom condo at Cascade. It was perfect for us. Great furnishings, well stocked kitchen, fluffy linens, underground parking with room access from parking area. All the rooms had tv's and wifi worked great. Good price also. Sad we could only stay for one night! Will definitely recommend and will return again! Great property!
3 bedroom, 3 bath BEAUTIFUL condo with great views. We had everything we needed for our three day impromptu stay. Close to Silverton, Durango, and Purgatory. And lots of wildlife to see, especially elk.
I had a lovely stay at Cascade Village in Condo #311. The condo is a one bedroom condo and is beautifully decorated. Spent a winter weekend there enjoying beautiful snowy views relaxing by the wood burning fireplace. There isn't a restaurant or store on site, you have to travel to a small village store with limited items or 18 miles to PJ's Gourmet Grocery which is really well stocked, with a wonderful deli area. So stock up on your drive to Cascade. This particular unit did not have WiFi only Ethernet and my cell phone signal was week, however I was able to use the land line. I had a pleasant stay and would stay in this unit again.
We love Durango and Condo #354. We have stayed here several times now. Our boys enjoy the indoor pool/hot tub and the outdoor hot tubs. We all enjoy the wood burning fireplace and the cozy condo. It has everything we need and is always clean! We are only a mile or two away from the slopes. Perfect location and affordable price for our family of 5! It is our favorite spot!!
Went during between seasons, to visit family in the area. Located half way between Durango and Silverton this condo community offered breathtaking views of fall colors. The complex has an indoor pool, and rec room. We stayed in Silverton #351, slept 8, and was beautifully decorated.
