We chose the Alexander O'Callaghan for location and price. We noticed they were undergoing a refurbishing on their website, so we were hoping for a completed room. Unfortunately they had just started the refurbishing, so no new room. Our room was very tired, the beds mushy, tiles and wood in the bathrooms beat up. We requested a room change because the toilet ran and the manager took us to several rooms to make sure all was well. The breakfast folks gave us bottled water at no charge, which was nice, but breakfast was not worth the €15. Overall the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel after the refurbishing!

Front desk staff at check in were superb. Room was spacious and well appointed, very comfortable. Location was walkable to Trinity College and many other sites and areas.

Great location and staff. Badly needs renovation scheduled next year. Beds a disaster

The location is a great place. It's close to Trinity and Pearce Station. It was great overall and the staff was really great!

Great location, lovely hote, nice size rooms,l friendly staff, thoroughly enjoyed our time there

A contemporary style 2-3 star experience Lobby bar empty of guests and yet service inadequate there for out group of 10. Rooms clean and adequate, location good.

Great hotel. The staff was fantastic. Nice location near Trinity. Chairs in the room were very uncomfortable and the carpet had some dirty spots as well some cigarette burns on the furniture in spite of the fact that it was a no smoking room. Good place to stay for the right price but nothing to write home about.

I thought it was a really cool part of town, but quiet enough that I could enjoy a good night's sleep.

Clean enough, though the maid didn't understand English. The rest of the staff was extremely prompt and accommodating however.

Hotel was not clean, very old and not well taken care of, staff was unfriendly. I changed rooms three times upon checking in and the gave up... thermostat was broken even after they came to supposedly fix it, bathroom was moldy, very low light levels, carpet was stained and unclean

I did not plan this trip a head of time. The staff were very helpful, very polite and patient. " True gentlemen" " British Style" . The location is only five minutes walk to the city center and all the main attraction less than ten minutes walk to Liffey River if you want to go for a run. Very convinent.

The hotel is a great place. Very nice, clean, decent sized room. Good amenities. I wish that there had been free wi-fi. They charged for the service, and had trouble billing it to my room. The reservation didn't come over quickly. They took a credit card imprint for incidentals, but didn't put it on file somehow. Then, when I needed to charge the wi-fi to the room, the staff was very unhelpful. They didn't have the credit card that I gave them, then they gave me bad information about the computer in the lobby. A great location, great room, just not very helpful staff.

Very good location - on a quiet side street; reasonably near all important sites in Dublin. Hotel is crisp and clean, the rooms are well maintained and a good size. The staff was very helpful. The general feeling is that we stayed in a well managed establishment that cares about its reputation. I would strongly recommend.

Great location. Very helpful staff, with a nice restaurant. I'd gladly stay here again.

The Alexander is a great hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The room was clean, roomy and we loved the down comforters. The bathroom was showing a little wear in the tub area, but it was more than satisfactory. The only issue was the location. I was traveling with my 87 year old mom. A hotel closer to the hop-on hop-off bus would have been better. Although Dublin is a great city to walk around, that wasn't really an option. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Dublin and I would recommend the Alexander to anyone with a good pair is walking shoes!

Enjoying a trip to Dublin in mid-May, I was delighted to find this hotel clean, staff very friendly (and extremely honest), as well as helpful with offering suggested places to see and things to do. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ireland for the first time and looking for a nice family-friendly atmosphere.

The location was perfect for visits to the National Library, National musuem, St. Stephen's square, Grafton St. etc. The hotel restuarant was reasonably priced and the food was delicious. Staff were very accommodating. I plan on returning to this hotel. My 9 year old daughter and I loved it.

The hotel is pretty good but 1 thing i did not like it the room had no heat

While the rooms in this hotel were beautiful, the service left something to be desired. Half of the springs in the mattress in our room were broken, thankfully it was king-size. The desk staff seemed to be annoyed anytime we asked for anything. In addition, it felt as though we were being nickel and dimed at every turn - despite having open wireless internet access in the hotel, we were charged for the service. Breakfast nor parking were included. The best part of this hotel was The Ginger Man bar across the street.

Easy walking distance to all the great sites in Dublin. Close to shopping (Grafton Street) and excellent restaurants (Blackboard Bistro). Close to Pearse Street DART station for a wonderful day trip to Howth. Room was clean and very comfortable. Great staff as they were very helpful with any questions we had and they were very customer service oriented.
