I've stayed in the IMI many times in the past few years and found it more than adequate. For me, its location was the main draw as it is close to family who I visit. However, the last couple of times, I had noticed some reduction in standards but this last visit was incredible. I was staying for three nights (they could not fit me in for the last night I requested -- and I'm so glad now!) I was met by a receptionist who lacked any charm whatsoever and was brusque to an almost rude level. The reception area has carpet which is badly stained -- and clearly no attempt has been made to clean it. My bedroom, on the surface seemed OK but again the carpet was covered in really disgusting stains and made me not want to walk on it in bare feet -- something which should NOT be the case in a bedroom! Also in the hallway outside all of the rooms, there were white pieces of something scattered all the length of the hall. As I came in late the next evening, I discovered that one of the lights did not work and there was a stain on one of the pillows. At that time, I turned it over and ignored it. The next day, on leaving, I turned the pillow over so that the stain could clearly be seen when the room was made up. Oh, false hope ! I came in that evening (after a family funeral) to find: a) the white detritus along the hall outside was still there -- the hall had not even been vacuumed for, in total, 3 days b) my own room had also not been vacuumed; the broken light had still not been replaced c) the stained pillow was still there d) all of the pillows were in exactly the same position as when i got up after sleeping on them -- no attempt at moving them or fluffing them -- the duvet had merely been pulled up to the top of the bed to cover them e) the towels which I had used in the morning had been taken away -- but not replaced f) the two biscuits in the room which I had eaten had been replaced but, when I touched them, both were covered in some disgusting gelatinous stickiness -- which the person who had put them there MUST have noticed but clearly didn't care. When you experience such obvious faults, it just makes you wonder about what is happening in the areas that are NOT visible. I would very much advise against anyone using this place now. It is a great shame as it used to be good value for money but clearly whoever is responsible for it now has no process of monitoring or checking for quality. The thought of it being called the Irish Management Institute is not a good advert for Irish Management, I'm afraid. Oh -- and the quality is that much better that they have now decided to charge €8 for what was a pretty poor breakfast selection in the base case -- and has not improved. Sorry, IMI -- but you'll never see me again -- and I just hope that you get your act together soon.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Pros: *Excellent reception staff on all 3 shifts. Very helpful and understanding . * Room size ok Cons: Very bad housekeeping. Didn't change my sheets for 3 days Didn't clean my bathroom for 3 days. Didn't clean the carpet . The distance you have to walk is way too much. It's a good 20to 25 minutes wall to the tram station. Even to walk to the main road from the hotel is quite a distance. In all my 3 days I never seen . It was extremely existing for us so we changed our hotel. The receptionist was very understanding and willing agreed to refund the remaining 2 days stay since she knew with my bad knees I was suffering there. Next to the tram station is the Dandrum shopping centre which has many many shops n eating outLet's. If U are willing to walk n low on budget then this hotel .

Price value is fair. Great beds but rooms bit outdated especially bathroom. Breakfast simple but sufficient. Don’t expect luxury but good price value. Location outside Dublin city, but very quit and well accessible.

IMI Residence is a small and ok hotel close to Dundrum center. Walking distance. Nice frienly staff. The room we were staying in was ok, beds were fine, but need a make-over, carpets not so clean, but all over ok for a short stay. Breakfast was ok, but could need a bigger selection. All in all ok

Firstly on arrival we were greeted with the friendliest member of staff and a bubbly conversation. The accommodation is bright and cozy. Food is very reasonable and nice menu. I've heard mixed reports but my experience was wonderful

Stayed for 5 nights whilst visiting relatives in Dundrum. Perfect location and very reasonably priced. Bedrooms are basic but everything worked and the windows opened to let in lovely fresh parkland air. We would definitely stay again.

We were very confused by this place on arrival. Seems to be on a college campus and everything except the corridor to the rooms and the rooms themselves has a college campus feel. There are exposed concrete walls and large unused open spaces. Definitely just a functional place to stay over night but not an extended period of time. The rooms are nice and the continental breakfast exceeded expectations - which were quite low in fairness. Receptionist was friendly and efficient. The communal areas of this 'hotel' need a lot of work.

Location is in Dundrum and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants, Dundrum House pub is excellent with wonderful food. The fusion restaurant which does Japanese, Chinese and Thai food was very friendly, clean and the food was delicious. The IMI Residence does need to be freshened up. On saying that the room was clean and the bed very comfortable and liked the fact we could open a window, as a lot of places don't allow nowadays due to aircon. The only major downside of the IMI stay was that the continental breakfast was not up to scratch, some nice croissants would have been good and even a boiled egg. There was a lack of fruit and on the Sunday no soda bread or fruit and we were at breakfast by 9am. So all in all it's OK but needs a bit of TLC. Have to say the staff were very friendly and attentive and did their best, thank you!

Stayed here for four nights, welcomed by Melissa, checked in quickly and allowed into our room early, which was greatly appreciated . IMI is a 15-20 minutes walk from Dundrum. It is on a bus route but did not see many. 10 euros in a taxi from Dundrum town centre. Dundrum is an excellent hub for tram and bus transport. IMI has nice rooms, breakfasts were basic, continental as advertised but not worth 8 euros. Choice became more limited at weekend, by Sunday there was no fresh fruit, grapefruit , soda bread or porridge. Staff were pleasant. Generally this is a bit out of the way, not sure it was worth the walk for the slightly cheaper rates.

Stayed here for one night, and it is not exactly the easiest place to find. There is no direct bus from the airport but one would need to stop in the city and take a bus 44, to the front of the property. From here, expect a 5-7 mins walk to get to the reception and the rooms. The room is either on ground floor, or 1st floor as its not a huge place. Overall, the room is clean, basic but comfortable. The bathroom could do with an upgrade, especially with the tiny shower and old shower heads. There is air conditioning in the room hence is good for a hot summer day/night. The best part is the feeling of detachment, and being able to enjoy the quietness of the place, away from the noise of traffic and the hustle and bustle of the city. There is ample free parking, which is a big plus if you are driving. As to breakfast, it is a basic one, mostly of toasts, some cold ham but there is a pancake maker, if you fancy a small pancake or two. A bit disappointed that there were not any real hot foods, like eggs or sausages or beans.
