This premises is excellently located for the RDS and the Aviva stadium, located a present 10 mins walk from Lansdowne Road DART station. Beautiful old property that was well maintained. Our room was very spacious and clean,if a little dated, and in keeping with the property. There was limited parking to the front of the house. On approaching the front door for our 2pm checkin we were greeted by the sight of an overflowing cigarette dispenser, totally took from the overall appearance of the house! Breakfast options were limited and the cooked Irish wasn't great, the bacon was burnt and the sausages over cooked. Also I was given a choice of soft medium or hard poached egg, I chose soft and got hard! For these 2 negative reasons alone (breakfast and cigarettes) I can't give 5 stars but these issues could easily be rectified. Highly recommended if attending events in the RDS or Aviva stadium for location alone.
We loved our first visit to Dublin. The guest house was easy to get to from the airport using Aircoach. We pretty much just slept the first day. The room was quiet, which in a big city was no small thing. Some little details were not perfect (soap dish hanging, toilet paper dispenser broken), but the breakfast was very good and the overall vibe was perfect for what we were looking for.
Booked an overnight stay as we were attending a concert at the Aviva Stadium and the hotel was within walking distance. Room was ok, clean enough but furniture was shabby but wasn't too concerned as we just needed a place to sleep after the concert and knew it would be a late night. All was ok until we went for breakfast. Breakfast was served til 10am and we went in at aprox 9.10am, My husband and I both ordered a full Irish breakfast only to be told that they had no rashers or sausages left! I asked for poached eggs but was told I could have a cheese and tomato omelette. We agreed as we were both hungry. The omelette was mainly tomato and very soggy and not nice at all. We had to ask for tea, ask for milk and ask for the girls to clear away the debris from last person. At no point did the owner/manager come in to explain how they came to run out of vital breakfast ingredients instead he left it to the 2 poor girls who could barely speak English. How on earth does that happen anyway??? They must of known how many guests were staying that night and should of had plenty of supply's in, failing that when they realized they were running low why did they not organise for someone to go to the shops that were only a few minutes up the road and buy more!! I am gobsmacked at this situation and it ruined the whole experience for us and ended our happy event on a sour note. What's more the owner/manager didn't even offer to knock some money off our bill which wasn't cheap. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Breakfast is an important and enjoyable part of staying over on a bed and breakfast basis. Oh and just to say when I mentioned to the owner/manager that I had been diagnosed with pneumonia earlier in the week he took a step back from me like I was infectious or something. This should of been a red flag to the extent or lack of his intelligence. So so angry and disappointed.
Good food for breakfast. Good but not great location. Tram or train needed to reach most attractions. Easy access from airport. Local restaurant we were referred to was okay but lacked any real character.
This guesthouse is located in Ballsbridge, about a mile or so from the centre. The area is quite quiet, but has some traditional pubs and a selection of eating places. The guesthouse is clean and comfortable, with a good breakfast included in the price. The staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are typical for Dublin. It is also very convenient for the RDS.
Very nice, small, geust house in Dublin with great connectivity. I was there for the WebSummit 2015, was really close by the event, which was nice. Perfect breakfasts, variety of choices are good for a week visit. Rooms are not big, but serves its purpose.
Needed somewhere to stay in Dublin at short notice and was genuinely surprised to find this quality at this price in Ballsbridge. Great welcome, friendly staff, lovely rooms. This is everything that a city B&B should be!
Very happy with overall stay. Was inexpensive and pretty central in that you could walk into town in under 30 mins which is fine on a nice day. Lots of busses and near a train station. Rooms are all you need. Main highlight is the breakfast which is very nice. Would stay again.
Glenogra is situated almost directly opposite the RDS in Ballsbridge. This makes it very handy for anyone attending a match, convention or concert. The house is very clean and warm and the welcome is friendly. Yes it is old fashioned and could probably do with modernisation but don't let this stop you from staying there.
Fantastic location.......A bit pricey but then i was late in booking. In walking distance of a choice of eateries and good breakfast bakery if you re not inclined to a full irish! Very helpful staff. Definately stay again but would book earlier.....
