The location of this hotel is a plus. Heading out of the hotel, you can walk to a metro station (red line, Business Bay) on right side and walk to a local supermarket on left side. Parking is free and convenient - underground parking lot has elevator access to your room directly. Hotel staff is very friendly, helpful, and polite. Room is spacious, especially in the classic suite, you can even find a washing machine in a closet. We like our stay in this hotel overall. The only downside is the bed. It claimed to be a classic suite with two twin beds on Orbitz website. But it turned out that all their classic suites only have a king bed. Orbitz should clarify this information and update the room type description more accurately. The king bed itself is a little too soft so it is not very comfortable sleeping in the bed.
Villa Rotana, (May 2016) I am writing this review of my recent stay at Villa Rotana on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai because of how impressed I was for the entire 3 day stay at this fine hotel that is situated in the heart of Dubai near the metro train station and with a view of the Burj Khalifa towers that is breathtaking. The location of this fine hotel is just the very beginning. It boasts a wonderful restaurant with a wide variety of excellent foods, the decor is tasteful and the super high ceilings and open feel to the restaurant gives it a very elegant touch. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to want for as they provide just about anything you can wish for from fresh fruits to a variety of fruit juices and cereals to eggs (anyway you want them made) to oatmeal, croissants, a variety of tea and excellent service. The room we (three of us) stayed in was the premium suite which had a bedroom, a spacious living room, a fully functional kitchenette, a full bathroom adjoining the bedroom and an extra toilet and wash basin in the suite. The suite also had an oven, a safe for valuables, utensils, pots and pans, a coffee/tea maker, plates, and even a washing machine. The pull out bed was extremely comfortable. The lovely red lounge chair was exactly what I needed after an entire day of sightseeing and shopping. The hotel exceeded our expectations in many aspects - very friendly and service minded staff, cleanliness, location, burj khalifa view from the window. On the minus side is the internet. Internet was generally slow and Voip was not at all working both in the room as well as in the lobby.

TRAIN STATION 5 MIN WALKING, THE NAME OF TRAIN STATION IS BUSINESS BAY. BREAKFAST IS VERY GOOD, THERE ARE A VARIETY OF NATURAL JUICES, FRESH FRUITS, CEREAL, EGGS, SALAD, HOT FOOD, BREADS, YOGURT, COFFEE, TEA, CHOCOLATE, JAMS, ETC, ETC. WE HAD TO PAY FOR 1 DAY INTERNET SERVICE AND WAS EXPENSIVE.
I was in Dubai alone, so I wanted to find a safe, centrally located hotel. This was perfect, a very brief taxi (or one metro stop) away from the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall area. Very comfortable room/bed, very attentive staff, great breakfast. And how often can you swim in a rooftop pool while staring up at the tallest building in the world? The one issue was that, even though I had upgraded to a king-sized bed on this site, the hotel was fully booked for king-sized beds. But all I did was politely request a refund for the upgrade, and suddenly I was staying in a suite. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!
Stayed at the Villa Rotana for 3 nights. The Staff was exceptional and extremely polite. The breakfast buffet had a great variety and choice of well prepared foods to start the day. The location along Sheikh Zayed Road is easily accessible and is a short distance to anywhere in Dubai. The Business Center Metro Station is a short walk over the Sheikh Zayed walk bridge. I rented a car and enjoyed the freedom, however I may simply rely on the Metro and Taxi's for future stays. I will return to Dubai soon and will make the Villa Rotana my choice.

Ask my wife and daughters - I'm very picky about my bed, pillows and quiet. I like soft beds (Westin Heavenly style is perfect), soft pillows, and perfect quiet. The Rotana fulfilled all these wishes and I slept like a baby. Very large room too - easily accomodated a cot for our teen daughter. Interior decor was a bit ultra for us 50-somethings - finished concrete counter, Jetson's style couch and chair; a bit dark; but good HD TV. Continental breakfast selection was the best - and widest selection - of 3 hotels we stayed in this trip - excellent service too. Hotel is centrally located for $10-20 cab rides to Deira district (old town; fun area to walk about) and other attractions. However, it's not a pedestrian friendly area just yet; too much construction in the immediate area and no good sidewalks. However, for comfort, quiet and a good meal to start the day, this hotel exceeded my picky expectations. Thanks Rotana! P.S. By comparison, the beds at Hyatt Regency were way too hard.
