The Rocks Cottage and The Summer House are two adjoining holiday homes set in a private courtyard with hot tub and pond side private garden, great for friends sharing or families with older children. We are in the renowned AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty) of Strangford and Lecale. Ideally situated to explore the Mournes, surrounding forests and local beaches. 30 minutes from Belfast and around 2 hours from Dublin, ideal for airports and city visits.
We often host tiny weddings, vow renewals and elopements for guests staying however we regularly have dates available for holiday guests. We can provide fabulous celebratory dinners, BBQs and lunches for guests, please ask and we will put you in touch with the amazing local chefs that we use.
The holiday homes are set side by side and are only let together ensuring privacy. The friendly owner’s home is next door but completely separate. They will be happy to help with local know how and will even pop out and pick up your takeaway or run you to the local pub! The holiday homes have their own private courtyard with luxury hot tub and a pretty very private pond side garden. (Please note the hot tub has small extra cost as we believe every guest should have a crystal clear hot tub which has been cleaned and refilled just for them) As soon as you drive up the lovely woodland track you realise you are approaching a very special place, often described by guests and visitors as ‘a slice of heaven.’ Both holiday homes have been extensively renovated, much love and inspiration have been poured into the properties to create beautiful and unique spaces.
The larger cottage is ideal as the hub and shared social area. It has a fully fitted kitchen, dining area, and conservatory living room. This cottage has a studio bedroom and the bedroom is screened with velvet curtains and voiles. It is a beautiful sleeping area with a stunning floral mural wall and beamed ceiling. The lovely deep blue and copper kitchen is fully fitted to allow guests a great space to prepare meals. It has a breakfast bar for casual eating and a dining space with a stunning live edge dining table which can comfortable seat 8 guests.
The conservatory sitting room overlooks a lovely private courtyard. It is a furnished with squashy comfy sofas and armchair, antique rug and is a charming space day or night. At night watch the stars through the clear roof or from the hot tub. There is a TV, wireless broadband, blue tooth speaker, books and games for guests entertainment. The cottage is centrally heated.
The adjoining pretty log cabin has a lovely Scandi feel and overlooks a small pond with a waterfall, it is just a few steps away. It is a great area for guests to sunbathe in the summer as it is a sun trap and is very private with a patio and a deck reaching over the small pond. There is a gazebo with a Weber BBQ for guests to enjoy . This is just the nicest place to sit and chill with a mug of tea or coffee, a G&T or glass of wine. Catch the last of the evenings rays up on the boardwalk at the top of the pond. The log cabin has a double sofa bed with good quality mattresses. You can stargaze from your bed if you leave the patio doors open and listen to the gentle waterfall, so romantic! The Summer House has a luxury shower room with blue tooth speaker mirror. It is centrally heated and has a log burner for chillier nights. There is a pretty small kitchenette with fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave allowing peaceful breakfasts, snacks and chilled drinks.
This holiday home is ideal for two couples sharing, there is a third attic bedroom with a double bed and additional single bed. Please note there is a narrow and quite steep staircase and the pitch is quite low so not for the very tall! Please consider suitability when booking.
