It was my second visit in Doha and i choose again that hotel.... love it it's a so great location , few minutes walking to souk Waqif in a lively SAFE location, just facing a Mosq VERY clean hotel Nice room Great breakfast Nice staff I strongly recommend it
Great service, very helpful staff, probably the best location in the entire city of Doha, Souk Wakif, The Corniche and Qatar Museum of Islamic arts are just a few steps away from the hotel. The rooms are pretty basic but comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet is pretty nice and varied. I've been at the Royal Qatar Hotel three times, once for six weeks and it has always been a great experience.
The hotel is located in a rural area, not in the modern part of Doha. Main advantage you can walk and is at walking distance of the Soukh where you have a lot of dinner opportunities. The reception team is gentle and helpfull, lady need to avoid chewing while speaking with customers. The lobby is not a 4 star hotel. Rooms are clean and bed is comfortable. Cushion has lipstick on it from former customer . Room would be pleased to have some upgrade.Everyday cleaned bathroom too. Restaurant offer a good range of dishes at normal pricing. Breakfast is ok and team is gentle. Following me is not a full 4 star hotel, but that is not soo important. Swimming pool outside is not what is expected. Internet was out and needed 2 days to be repaired.
Hotel is reasonably priced. The room was big enough and reasonably well furnished. Hotel was not busy as could be seen by the numbers at breakfast. Breakfast was the only meal I had. It was nothing special but OK. Hotel is in a run down part of town but only a short walk from Souq Wafiq which is one of main attractions in Doha.
We are newly weds who just came to Doha and we had to stay there for six days untill our house was ready, I mentioned in the booking that we were honeymooners we received no special treatment whatsoever, the hotel is listed as a 4 star hotel, the Wifi is horrible, the laptop would not connect to it no matter what time it is، the food tasted like rubber, too much bread and no stuffing, cold and late, you name it. At first there was no bathrobes and every time I asked for an extra towel it would be a hassle. My husband wanted to surprise me with a romantic cake for two. They asked him to pay before they even make the cake it was over priced and they told him he would have to wait till the next day and when it finally came it was a disaster, they delivered it without a cart or a tray no plates or a knife to serve and ofcorse it would take another hour to get it and by then the moment was already ruined, so he tried to call the manager to complain they kept him on hold for 4 minutes then he hung up and called again and they said the manager will call you back later, and when he did the manager apologized and said we can pick the money from the reception next day, next day we asked the reception for the money they said it was 11 pm and the manager didn't leave a message and they couldn't disturb him at such late hour, I threatened to write a bad review they replied "no problem we will reply to your review" what a polite answer! I really dont recommend this place to anyone and if you ever consider staying just expect a good night's sleep the beds are nice and fluffy but they smell weird.
Very close to the Souq: 5 minutes walking and you reach it. The parking area for free is a plus in an area where you can hardly find a spot. Overall the hotel need a renovation. The bathroom was below my expectations being a 4 stars hotel.
The hotel is good value with large rooms and the staff are friendly and service oriented. The pick up service from the airport costs and it was no more costly than a taxi. The location is 5 minutes walk from the souk, a main tourist attraction and 15 minutes walk from I M Pei's amazing musuem of Islamic art. While it's close to the major sites, the neighborhood is down at heel. It looks like a rejuvenation is planned for this suburb...It's just not there yet. Nonetheless I walked everywhere and felt safe at all times.
I stayed here for 3 nights during a stop over to the Maldives. Before I arrived to the hotel, the reception staff had arranged a taxi for me and were incredibly helpful. Check in was easy and the staff again were very helpful. I was impressed with the size of the room and was very clean. I had read reviews about how poor the breakfast selection was but I was very happy with it. There was plenty of selection, though better attempts could be made to keep some of it warmer. The location is perfect, only 5 minutes walk from Souq Wakif. We stayed during Souq Wakif Spring Festival and it did get noisy and could hear the music until late at night but that's to be expected for the good location. Al Ghanim bus station is only a 10 minute walk away with a large number of buses to get you around the city at a very low cost. Buses 747 and 109 take you to the airport in around 30 minutes and run regularly. Taxi's are now very easy to get and can be hailed from a street easily enough, and also very cheap. I had concerns over this as I'd read that very few taxi's very available due to the large numbers of people in the city, but they were everywhere. The internet in the hotel is a little slow, but managed to use it when everyone had gone to bed. Be prepare for the early morning prayer wake up call at around 5am. There's a loud speaker right opposite the hotel and it can't be missed! But it's a Religious country so it's something you learn to accept. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again.
Stay here almost ever month during visa renewal from Kuwait. Located just a mints walk from Souq , rooms are very good and staff is extremely helpful..... breakfast is decent and good spread. Gym is good and has good equipments. Would defiantly recommend to stay during visit to Qatar.
The hotel room was clean and well maintained. The bed was extra comfortable. Hotel charges per day comparatively the cheapest which you can find within Doha for a 4* hotel. Noise level at the hotel was extremely quiet.
