We arrived around check in time on a Saturday, upon entering the hotel there was a huge pile of ice on the floor right in front of the door as soon as I walked in, I nearly tripped over it. There was a guy at the coffee stand telling people to watch out as they came in but a sign or someone stationed by the door or even cleaning it up would have been better. We waited a minute or two before we were checked in, then we headed to our room to discover it had not been cleaned from the previous guest. We called the front desk and they came and escorted us to a new room within 10 minutes. The room we stayed in had bunk beds with really comfy linen and pillows. There really wasn’t anywhere to sit in the room other than the bench in front of the window. The tv only has streaming services on it would be nice to get some of the local channels. The WiFi was strong and fast enough. The shower was nice and all the soap and shampoo were in pump bottles mounted on the wall so I like that they aren’t creating a lot of waste. I’m glad we only stayed one night. This room is okay if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep, you don’t have much stuff with you and you are not really going to be in the room. This hotel is in a good location for sports and shows in Detroit.
This hotel is truly one of a kind! The decor was amazing and the staff was over the top friendly! My mom and I stayed one night while we were in town for a concert. We were close to everything and felt safe walking at night. The bed was very comfy! Be sure to stop at the Candy Bar for a cocktail! I could spend all evening in there! We'll definitely stay here again!
We reserved what was called a suite. Basically it was a very small room with some very uncomfortable furniture and a huge spiral staircase in the middle leading up to a small loft. There was barely room to move. No closet just a couple of hooks on the wall. Very little counter space in the bathroom. We were unable to get in the very small bar to buy a drink. The hotel is interesting and the location is great. So if you want interesting this is a good place. If you want comfort I would go somewhere else.
Perfectly located across from Comerica and Ford Field, we could not have asked for easier access of things to do in Detroit. Z Parking garages surround the hotel and offer parking for just $10. For those staying, be sure to check out The Candy Bar.
Stayed one night in September. Very welcoming staff. We booked the second smallest room. Going in we knew what to expect. Room was small and there are no frills. No coffee maker or fridge in room. Decor is fun and retro. Candy Bar is impossible to get into, an hour wait. Easy 3 minute walk to Tigers or Lions game. Would stay again.
Excellent hotel. Very quiet, we heard nothing the entire time we were there. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great small bar "The Candy Bar". Couldn't say enough about this find in the city. Valet parking or you can park at a garage just around the corner. Walkable to the entire downtown area.
Loved the Siren hotel in Downtown Detroit. The area is walkable, with so many interesting things to do and see. The staff is A++! We were welcomed with smiles and the service throughout our stay was top notch. The lobby is a great place to grab a coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening. Loved the room decor and the views of Detroit from the 12th floor.
I think this hotel has some of the most, engaging and friendly staff I've encountered. The lobby is small but very unique and inviting. The rooms make you feel like you are in NYC, because they are small but they have comfortable beds, and nice features like a great shower! The rooms are quiet, I didn't hear any noise from the street or other rooms. I was on the 9th floor. The only light criticism is that the rooms don't offer coffee makers and you can buy a cup in the lobby for almost 4 bucks, which seems odd. Other boutique hotels typically offer free coffee stations in the lobby. Also, they have a great bar, which is very small and though I was a hotel guest I couldn't get into the bar and had to go down the street - good thing is that there are many options now to choose from in the area. Detroit was really nice and fun!
the king room was very adequate and well designed. As in most hotels these days, I found there was not sufficient light, especially over the working desk. The TV was fine, but i noticed that when ads came on, the volume also was elevated and this was disturbing. Presumably this can be fixed A tip for the hotel management: put a door closer at the washroom at the entrance to the ground floor elevators. It is not too nice to look into an open washroom when entering/exiting elevators It is my understanding that my stay was in the "soft opening" period and that the hotel may not have had its "official" opening.
I loved my stay at The Siren Hotel! The rooms are charming, and the boutique nature of the lobby and rooms makes it a unique stay vs. larger chains. The location is great, very convenient for a work trip, and I would definitely stay again for pleasure too.
