The hotel was alright. Right off the highway so it was easy to find, and the small kitchenette that came with the room was a neat feature. But the bed was super hard. I felt like i was sleeping on hardwood floors. And there was some peeling and discoloration on quite a few surfaces in the room. Very friendly polite staff and the price wasnt bad either. Wish they had a little more for 'breakfast' but theres a dunkin donuts less than a mile away or you can bring groceries and cook your own (but who wants to do that...)

There was no phone or clock radio in the room. Table was kinda wobbly and the sound of running water coming from behind the shower. Table was fixed the next day. Phone & clock radio were provided the day before we left. Never corrected or what was causing the running water sound.

No ATM, other than that it wasn't a bad place to stay for the price.

Full size refrigerator, galley kitchen with microwave and cook top, dishes/pots/pans/flatware. Room is clean; staff attentive, friendly, and professional. Fast food and super-center style grocery store nearby; convenient to major highways. A great choice for a brief stay or an extended stay!

The shower was dirty and backed up with water which was not sanitary. The bed was not comfortable at all.

Well, it was 75% ok. Why 75% I paid for a none smoking zone but many times i did smell such. Beddings were never changed through out my stay and there was no tooth paste in the rest room. There was no napkin in the room.

I WASN'T SURE ABOUT THE CHECK OUT PROCESS, BUT I WAS TOLD TO LEAVE THE KEY, IN THE ROOM. IF THIS IS THE PROCEDURE, THEN I LOVE IT.

Filthy, foul odors of cigarette and illegal smoking, dirty beds and stained floors, dirty walls, no hair dryer (why would an Extended Stay not have a hair dryer?) and had to wait for someone to come to the desk and check me in, when she finally did come, she said, "I'm glad you decided to come now, because I was about to run to the store." So had we not arrive when we did, we would have had to wait for her to come back, how unprofessional to abandon your duties and responsibilities! This was one of the worse experiences I have ever had, and as a regional manager, I have travelled very often! STAY AWAY, take my word!

We found the hotel to be clean and safe and a great value. However there are are some points for future travelers to consider. One is they accept pets another is we found the hotel to be full and quiet but the walls are thin and if you have a loud room next door you will hear them and last but not lease be careful HANDICAPPED PARKERS i was ticketed for NOT parking EXACTLY in between the lines and was told by staff they ticket people OFTEN

I had stayed in this hotel a but earlier and it was alright. But this time, the room allotted to me doesn't meet expectations. The restroom was smelling of pee and the room had not been cleaned properly. May be this happens only in Detroit...

the rooms are clean. the staff is fine. the area does not have anything in walking distance, so have a car.

My family needed a quick stay over spot where we could also keep our groceries...The Extended Stay America hit the nail on the head!! It was great and also very accessible to local shops and eateries if we wanted to do dinner out..Thanks for everything

We stayed at the Extended Stay America in Southfield,MI. When we arrived, the desk staff appeared annoyed by the fact that he had to check someone in. The rooms, although clean, and a no-smoking facility, smelled like smoke. The bed was so uncomfortable, that the only way my wife or I could sleep during our stay was with the assistance of sleeping pills. The bed felt like little more than a piece of plywood covered by a a sheet. This was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had, and will NEVER use Extended Stay America again.

Came into town to visit a sick friend. Selected this hotel, because of the good price for a kitchenette. Was told the whole hotel was non-smoking, and everyone in the adjacent rooms smoked anyway. Room stayed full of 2nd hand smoke from tobbacco. Hotel is primairly for a flop house for families that don't have other means, or for migrant famiilies. Not even a good price for the most basic of emergency housing. This is the ugly duckling of the chain. The shower was great though, and the toilet was a super-flush. Probabaly a great place to hold a party, but not a nice one. Avoid unless absolutely neccessary. Not for vacationing.

Always stay here when in town for business. The kitchenette is great because I get homemade meals even when I'm away from home. It beats eating out breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overall, I'm happy with service, rooms, and location.

The ESA-Southfield was a great place to recoop after an quick move....I loved that it had a stove top and a full refrigerator. The staff was very hospitable..I would visit here again without hesitation!!

It is a very cheap hotel and you get what you pay for.
