DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Denver - Stapleton North

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times. Twice on business, and once recently on an overnight before an early flight out of DIA. (I live 200 miles out of Denver, and often stay there to shorten the distance to the airport) While the property and rooms are comfortable and generally attractive, and the staff very friendly and helpful, they have a problem. The new rail line that runs from Union Station to DIA crosses Quebec quite near the hotel. When the trains cross Quebec they blare their horns repeatedly. I arrived in the late afternoon, and it seemed that there was a crossing every 15 minutes. This continued until later in the evening, and then occurred about every 30 minutes late into the night and resuming early in the morning. The horn blasts made it very difficult to get any sustained sleep. It's unfortunate and certainly beyond the hotel's control, but is nevertheless a serious problem. If you book a room here ask to be on the north or east side of the building, and avoid rooms on the south and west.

Great hotel next to the train which took you downtown

Check is was very easy!! Super friendly staff!! Room was very clean, quite, and comfortable! I would stay here again!!

Nice hotel great staff from front desk to dining experience! Close to shopping and food.

This hotel is located right next to the tracks so you hear the train horn everytime it goes by. The walls are very thin so you hear the people in the hallway and next room. The pool was also very dirty.

our first day our room was not made up at 4 pm when we returned, and the second day the same thing happened

Attentive staff, nice breakfast buffet, close to transit rail station

The hotel itself was beautiful, the room was nice but we were kept awake all night with trains blowing their horns. This was so disappointing to us. I don't think I will ever use this hotel again, sleep is not over rated. DiAnne Faust

hotel is very close to the freeway but a little tricky to find if you are using a GPS to find because the street names do not always match. the hotel is on a frontage road which parallel to the address of the hotel. easy to return to the freeway when you leave.

Everybody was very nice from the time we called to ask questions all the way up to making sure we have a shuttle back to the airport. Every person we saw was friendly and helpful. It was definitely a nice place to stay.

Its the first time in Double tree hotel. I do not know much about the food because, I was so mobile.

Hotel was nice enough, but not fantastic. Train horns could pose a problem for light sleepers. Average place with friendly staff.

Room was ready upon arrival. It was clean and comfortable. Room was on the end near railroad crossing so trains were easily heard.

The hotel is right next to the train tracks (which run ALL NIGHT), the freeway and an electric power station. I did not any sleep and was extremely tired every morning. Our room also had a musty smell and you can not open the windows to get fresh air. There is another Doubletree down the street, which is the hotel I thought we were staying at, that is much nicer.

The Reno is long over due. The rooms are out dated broken. Paint peeling off the walls on the outside of the building. I would not return. Staff at the front desk were great.

Although the hotel was beautiful and clean with an accommodating staff(except for the overnight front desk person) it is located less than a block from the train crossing that runs every 20 minutes. So all through the night, every 20 minutes, the train would sound it's intersection warning. It sounded as though the train was in my room. I should have known when I saw the pack of earplugs as part of the complementary items that it would be bad but I had no idea how bad. I could wear only one earplug as I had to be up at 3:30am and was afraid I would not hear the alarm or wake up call. I do not believe two earplugs would have muted the noise either, but maybe. Also the overnight front desk man seemed unable to help anyone. I never got my final bill and the request by the person ahead of me was turned down also. He just kept saying he was alone and could not complete anything. I had to catch the airport shuttle and could not wait until reinforcements arrived. Also please note that there are 2 Double Tree Hotels within a 4 block radius. We first went to the wrong hotel, unloaded, reloaded and drove to correct hotel. It would be helpful to differentiate this on your website.

Hotel older, but clean for age. Courteous / knowledgeable desk staff. Breakfast buffet - meh, but items on menu better.

Friendly staff and warm cookie on check-in, however location is less convenient and building is poorly designed. Location is re-modeled structure... Dimly lit long hallways and cramped room size... Little natural lighting. Don't confuse this location with Doubletree three blocks away...

Great service, offers some toiletries if you forgot them, cookie is great, staff is sweet, and located right off of the freeway.

Came out for GABF 2015. Hotel was a quick $15 Uber to downtown. Room was clean, comfortable, and the price was good.
