It was a last room availability booking. And at a great rate. Especially for the convention that was close by. The rate did not go up because of it. AWESOME! Room was very comfortable and very clean. Excellent customer service. Great location.

Apart from Raymond, who is the day time desk clerk, the place has been rather nice. We have had an extended stay and staff has been very accommodating. The rooms are still under renovation, and the pool is currently under way, however lack of desk staff has the maintenance in charge of working on the equipment and other tasks so overworked that I have not seen him get much rest, and Raymond has been really hard on him. Some times I have heard Raymond yelling and even being aggressive towards him. Housekeeping has been really nice and are easy to talk with and work around your requests. The general manager has been really helpful as well as he listens to your problems and does what he can to assist. If the issue concerning Raymond's attitude and or lack of effort towards wanting business was addressed this place could flourish on a better scale, and my review could become a full 5 star. Thank you!

If you'll look through the many reviews I've written for Trip Advisor, you'll see that I am a customer of all levels of hospitality; from mom and pop motels to luxury resorts. I try to write fair reviews and write them based on the level of service I paid for. In this case, I paid $60. This is a motel with serious problems that should have been addressed before it was reopened. And as another reviewer has stated, a new coat of paint and new furniture won't fix bad service and all the problems behind the walls. Upon arriving at the motel, we were met by the gentleman working at the front desk. While we checked in he took a call from one of the other guests. Upon hanging up the phone he looked at us and said, "They called me to tell me that the air conditioning in the hallway wasn't on. If they want it on they should turn it on!" At that point it was late, we had been traveling for several hours, and I was too tired to grasp what he was even talking about. Upon handing us our key he then followed us to the elevator and boarded it with us. He then told us about the new furniture in our room. I wasn't sure where he was going, but I was really hoping that it wasn't our room. Upon exiting the elevator, I immediately understood what the previous guest had been calling about. The hallway on our floor was hot and muggy. The carpet was also dirty. We took a left out of the elevator and started walking towards our room. Sure enough, the gentleman followed us. We opened the door and he stepped inside the doorway. The room was hot so I immediately walked over to turn the air conditioning on. The cover to the thermostat fell off in my hand. He said, "It does that sometimes." I then thanked him and moved toward the door to close it, hoping he would get the hint. Thankfully he did. I sleep with a CPAP machine. In the middle of the night I woke up and suddenly realized that I was having a hard time breathing. That's when I realized that my machine was turned off. It took me a while to get my barrings but I eventually realized that the power was off in our room. No lights. Nothing. That also meant the air conditioning wasn't working and the room was heating up in the Texas heat. We tried to call the front desk but there was no answer. I laid there for a couple of hours, unable to sleep without my CPAP machine. Eventually the power did come back on but the air conditioner did not. We spent the rest of the night there in a hot, muggy room. The next morning not much had changed. We got ready quickly. We had no desire to stay for the continental breakfast or to even take a shower there. My girlfriend decided to ask for a discount on the room considering the problems. None was granted. Other guests were also there complaining. By that time the owner/manager had arrived but he too was unwilling to make things right. I was under no delusion that he would. As we left, we could still see angry customers coming out of the motel. From the building itself, which desperately needs some serious maintenance, to the owner/manager and the guy working the front desk, this place is run down, creepy, and should have cost us about $30. I'm convinced that the few positive reviews that do exist were written by friends and family of the owners or maybe even by the owners themselves. There are other hotels and motels in the area. Save yourself the nightmare/headache and stay in one of them.

Late Night staff,Denis was very very helpful,Denis provided above and beyond service...the bed was great!!! Could not belive how firm the mattress and pillows were...will definitely stay here again..hotel is almost totally renovated.

The desk guys were really quick and super nice. Really cheap too especially for the price. Comfy bed and blankets also with a good breakfast. Stays pretty quiet throughout the night.Definitely wouldnt mind staying here next time we pass through decatur.

The room was "nicer" than expected, lobby was kinda sketchy. We had to stand at the desk, with another client, for about 15 minutes waiting on the clerk. The guy that finally came was very nice though, and he made up for it and said he was doing a repair. I couldn't stand the mattress, it was unbearably hard. The morning after our night staying, I found out that the window, which actually opens, was unlocked, which was concerning, seeing as there are no lights behind the building, and anyone could just open the window. We decided to not stay the second night of our reservation, I wanted to actually get a good night's sleep. But despite the problems, they definitely have good customer service, the man was very interacting, and made sure we didn't need anything every time we went through the lobby.

Price was unbeatable! Staff was friendly. Parking is hassle free. Near great food and major road. Hotel is currently being updated so expect some kinks but absolutely nothing that is major. Will definitely return soon!

Brand new rooms at a low price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is being remodeled and everything was new and updated. If you are looking for a room that clean and new and priced at a unbeatable price this is your place!
