Our first impression wasn't great, we arrived in our rental car and wanted to have some time to sort out our luggage after 10 days on the road, but felt hassled by the baggage/valet parking guys hurrying us along. Once inside they tried to sell us a 'better' room. When you're hot and tired this does not give the best impression of the hotel. But, once in our room and clean and rested we started to enjoy ourselves. This hotel is beautifully laid out, fabulous pools and excellent service. The food was good and we had a very restful, enjoyable experience. I could float in the Dead Sea everyday of my life and still love it. So much fun.
We had reserved there to celebrate my father's and my birthday & wanted something elegant. The hotel was but the service wasn't up to the expectations. My room was nice and spacious with a big balcony, but required maintenance for several things including the safe & shower door. The pools were crowded, & the waiters overloaded with no help, & not good knowledge in the preparation of beverages, in addition to being really slow & forgetful, & it was really noisy with all the different music on portable loud speakers with no one to enforce any hotel policies or rules in that regard. The breakfast the next day wasn't satisfactory, the dishes in the buffet were either cold, looked stale, or were labeled wrong, & some even not edible; & the omelette station was operated by one person thus taking around half an hour to get my order. The external showers were missing the soap or shampoo or conditioner or all three, or labeled wrong, & the hairdryer was broken. I liked that they hand out cold water & serve fresh fruits at the pool, but the waiter might skip you by mistake so stay alert, he might not come again! The beach is well kept & clean, with lots of beach showers & mud from the sea ready for using, but it would have been nice if they lent out those beach slippers to use in the sea like other hotels do. If they did then good, I couldn't find anyone to ask, but still do bring your own with you to avoid the rough rocks of the sea. The design of the building is smart in that all rooms have a sea view, & the rooms are well equipped with free soft drinks & snack. I expected better from a hotel with such standards, mainly in terms of service.
I was planning to have a vacation with my friends there. however, my friends got there before me, and they already checked in. Upon my arrival, I was stuck outside trying to convince the security that I have a room, and my group already checked-in, I tried to call my friends but there were busy swimming, at the same time I was trying to call the hotel and they said sorry we cant get you in, as it shows that everyone has checked-in. I asked the to be transferred to the duty manager, but they transferred me to a number where it was closed. I tried to ask the security and the management (by phone) to get into the reception so I can speak to someone to solve the issue and also they refused. My only option was to head back to Amman after 30 mins waiting outside. Finally one of my friend answered my calls, and he spoke to someone where they allowed me to get to the hotel. I was surprised that my friends REGISTERED my name at the gate AND THE RECEPTION. When I COMPLAINED AND SPOKE to the duty manager (Mr NOUR) he answered me only "OK" AND IGNORED ME instead of calming me down or even to understand exactly what happened. I am not sure if this is a 5 stars hotel, specially I saw another fight for another reason by a different customer with the management in less than 10 mins.
Stayed in the hotel for the third time, and as always we were more than satisfied in our stay by experiencing the true meaning of being pampered in a luxurious hotel. From the minute you enter the hotel till the minute you leave, you feel that everyone is really eager to help, serve and make sure your stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as much as possible. Special thanks to Abdelrahman Aldalou and all the team at the front office for the great hospitality, smile and extreme professionalism in dealing with customers...your attitude and help meant a lot for us. Facilities and cleanliness in the hotel are great, and service at the pool is excellent with cold scented towels distributed during the day, cold water, and clean towels always available, (although it might vary from one person to another depending on whom is on duty that day) Breakfast is amazing, i don't remember if there is anything missing that can be served on breakfast that is not there ... Comparing it to other hotels in Dead Sea, and i have stayed in almost all of them before... the difference is significant Finally, as an final advise/comment .. they need to increase the number of club cars operating to serve customers in time especially during check-in / check-out times
The hotel is amazingly situated at the Dead Sea overlooking the sea and the mountains. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very helpful, without a smile of course, if you are traveling in Jordan don't expect a smile during service, people are like doing their job by force., kempinski is the best you can get. The food has good quality however it is extremely over priced. You are looking around 40jod per person for lunch without alcohol. This hotel is the best option in Dead Sea
I know a lot of you have responded to an earlier post of mine and asked that I revisit this hotel. I finally decided to come back and once more the disappointment is unreal. So we arrive as a group of 12 colleagues excited to have a trip at the end of the year to the Dead Sea. Unfortunately our rooms were not correctly booked and we were given king beds. When we asked that this is changed the assistant managed said to my colleague 'if you are getting a corporate rate, you get a different kind of treatment.' We were also given our rooms at 6:30 pm and when we complained, were given a soft drink to make us feel better which we refused. Eventually we went to our room only to find crisps under the sofa and no cover for the remote and a horrible stench to the room. We will have dinner elsewhere and try to enjoy the rest of this trip but honestly, go to any other hotel and they will treat you with more respect and you'll get your money worth.
The Breakfast was amazing, it had all my fav. items fresh salmon with capers, fruit salad, Omelet with mushroom and cheese, and a delicious Champagne. The GYM was amazing. The infinity pool was spectacular!
Every time you came here you explore more wonderful things about this wonderful hotel the services the clearance and the lovely stuff the foods and the place but some bad behaved of some guests of the hotel make you feel sorry all this food for 2 person for breakfast ( you can see the picture) but thanks to the all stuff
This was my x- time coming back to the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea. Whenever I have friends visiting me, I take them to the Kempinski for the perfect around Dead Sea experience. As always, the service and staff were most friendly, very kind, and quick to react. Only a few minutes and the check-in was done. Parking for our car was perfect, though missing a bit of shade. The hotel room we got was big, clean, stylish, quiet and had an exceptional view over the Dead Sea (main building, 6th floor) – just wonderful! The Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. Great add: the hotel room’s minibar is complimentary and contains lots of yummy sodas, juices and so on. Also, we only experienced excellent service in both the Italian resto where we had dinner and the Ashur restaurant where we had breakfast, though the hotel was a bit crowded due to it being the last weekend before Ramadan. Food was yummy with nice variety and good value for money. The champagne served at breakfast makes the whole breakfast/brunch experience just perfect. Moreover, service in both places was attentive and efficient – our waiters did an outstanding job all the time! Very friendly, attentive & personable and brought all our orders up in just a few minutes. Super fast and wonderful to have a short chat with. Same for the personnel who greeted us for our check-in at the reception. Very lovely person who made our first impression a very positive one. Sharp and on the dot so that we did not have to wait for too long to arrive at our hotel room for some well deserved rest. Only negative point: the service at the pools was a bit slow this time, most certainly due to the exceptional high number of guests. Nevertheless, the hotel premises were perfect to just enjoy and relax or have a quick dip in the Dead Sea. Also, a big thank you goes especially out to one amazing man – Ivan Cerio, Guest Relations Officer at the Kempinski, who is always most kind and attentive and goes always the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and at home right away. Thank you! I could go on but suffice it to say that my friend and I were very pleased with our stay this time, and although short and sweet, we hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.
Stayed here for 1 night (19 Nov 2016), booked as part of a tour package so not sure how much the room costed. After check-in, staff took me to my room in a buggy. Was upgraded to an Ishtar Deluxe Room, the hotel grounds are huge and I like the location of the room as it's close to the pools, a short walk down to the Dead Sea, also just a few mins walk to the restaurants by the infinity pool and inside the main building. Room and bathroom very spacious with an outside seating area. The room decor felt a bit lacking and furniture dated though and surprised that the bed sheets were pretty creased, expected more for a hotel of this calibre. Separate shower and bathtub, very clean, nice toiletries. The sliding doors to the outdoor seating area didn't lock properly which was frustrating since I was travelling solo and prefer to lock all doors/windows for peace of mind. Headed down to the Dead Sea to float, towels provided. A staff later came and went to collect mud from the Dead Sea and helped applied onto some of the guests. Simple shower facilities to wash off the salty water when you get out which is useful. Room for improvement such as more benches, providing bottles of drinking water, a staff to clear out the used towels or a basket for placing them as they were all over the place when I got there. Tried the spa, it's multi-floors and pretty nice. Emailed them before arrival to enquire and made a booking, received replies promptly. Originally booked a Body Polish package, but since I tried the Dead Sea mud earlier, I called and asked whether I can change to a longer massage instead and this was arranged. The massage was done by a Thai lady which can rarely go wrong and as expected, the massage was professional and relaxing, left in a state of bliss. Food wise, I had lunch in the Ashur Pool Restaurant, had soup and pasta, they were decent. Also had the dinner buffet, loads of choices and some nice dishes but for some reason, there were only me and one other table of guest that night so the place was eerily quiet. Breakfast buffet is awesome, really good egg benedicts. Staff mostly quite friendly and helpful. 1 staff went out of the way, he came to take me to the spa with the buggy, I was sitting outside after dinner and he came to check on things and also gave me a tub of the Dead Sea mud to bring home. Some things here and there need refinement but had a lovely stay overall.
