This hotel is nice but does need some updating to match most other Hampton Inn. Very close to Wright State which is very convenient for trips to the ball stadium and lots to eat within walking distance.
Life gets so busy. I don't take the time to write reviews very often these days unless something particularly stands out to me. In this case, it was the customer service we received at the Fairborn Hampton Inn's front desk. Brendan was on hand to welcome us at check in this week and we were mightily impressed. He was genuine, warm, gregarious and welcoming. He made our 3 year old's night by commenting on his pirate costume. My husband had a military class to take at Wright Patterson early the next morning and Brendan kindly gave us a late check out so that I and our 2 little ones had a place to stay while hubby was away. Brendan was such a refreshing change from the typical kids of his age range. Hampton management please give this young man a pat on the back for a job well done!
The room was clean but small. The bed was comfortable. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge and microwave. Ice was only available on main floor. Very convenient location near the US Air Force museum.
Very clean. Very pleasant staff. Nice size rooms. The only thing lacking is it doesn’t include breakfast like most Hampton Inns do. Nice cookies and water upon arrival. Nice pool and hot tub area. In a nice section of town.
This is a tired (old) Hampton Inn close to WPAFB. It used to be the backup when I can't stay in the Hilton Garden Inn. I will not be staying here again. I had the extremely unfortunate timing to be staying here when the desk clerk was fatally shot on March 7, 2018. I went out at 6:30 after talking to Andrew and when I returned the front was blocked with yellow crime tape and flashing lights. The hotel didn't notify the guests or let us know it was safe to say here. I'll never be able to stay here again. I couldn't walk into thhe lobby knowing andrew was killed there. Hilton Properties you need to have better crisis management and communications. According to police there wasn't even a camera there. How serious are you about your own employee and guest safety. Criminals aren't 'stupid' and know if there aren't video cameras and it make you a better victum..
Pool was out of order, Breakfast was cold. Back door frequently didn't open due to the card swipe not working. For how much the room was, I could have booked a similar hotel for half the price through Priceline.
This hotel is what you would expect. We only stayed for one night. 3 kids and 2 adults. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They gave us a crib type thing for our 3 year old. The breakfast was actually good. Everything was pretty clean and taken care of. The only drawback was the pool. The heater must have been broken because it was the coldest pool I’ve ever been in. We told the front desk and they were very apologetic and said they would look into it. They even said they would make arrangements for us to swim at the pool in the hotel next door. If you have to stay in Dayton this would be a good place to stay!
This was a much older less modern version of Hampton hotels that I am used to staying in. Refrigerator and microwave oven was not available in my room. An overall upgrade to this location would be better.
Bathroom smelled of bug spray or some chemicals and sheets were cleary not changed prior to our arrival as there were stains thru all layers in same spot. Staff brought new sheets after my call but I had to change the sheets myself.eventually comped but would not stay again
Overall the hotel is just ok. About what you'd expect from a Hampton Inn. Location was good, close to many restaurants and not far from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Only issue we had was that even though it was 10*F outside the AC system was on so our room was 58*F when we arrived.
