This is my first experience with Microtel. I certainly expected abbreviated accommodations from the big national chains however I did not expect the poor basics which I experienced. The HVAC wound not operate to a temp setting which created a restless nights sleep. Either to hot or to cold. The bathroom has large areas of mold on the wall and ceiling. The room was basically dirty or untidy, needs a good hard cleaning. The entire hotel is in urgent need of a complete renovation, $70.00 was far too much to pay for the return. Every person on the hotel staff I had contact or dialogue with were very helpful and friendly. It is unfortunate such a nice staff does not have an equally nice property and environment in which to work. Summing, you have a great location and staff. The facility is in terrible repair.
If a Microtel is available in the cities that I visit, I always try to book my stay at a Microtel. This visit wasn't anything like any other Microtel that I have stayed in during a travel adventure. First of all, it is a "pet friendly motel", and I feel that they should have accommodations for guests with pet allergies. The only reason I proceeded to stay was due to the cleanliness of the way the beds were made--it was the best EVER!! When we decided to stay, I took allergy medications, and I did very well with it. However, our phone did NOT work, keys didn't always work and we had to keep going to the desk for the card to be remade. The shower had no safety strips, and I slid. Therefore, I advised my 84-year old aunt not to shower. When we checked out, I told the desk clerk about my concerns, and she told me that the entire motel is being remodeled, and that made sense to me. I will continue to travel to Bethel, CT, and I told the clerk that even if I was disappointed in some of the accommodations, that I will try again after the remodeling is complete.
Other than the room not having a mini refrigerator, I was totally satisfied with every aspect of the place!
The bathtub/ shower really small. Tv not center of the two beds so one bed you have to look over the other to see it.
Very nice room. Great TV and loved the fridge and microwave. Nice sitting area in front of the window. Very relaxing.
We only needed to stay one night, and we're easy. Check in counter had one pleasant, over-worked person, so that took a very long while. They are in the midst of upgrades, so the halls and stairwells were freshly skim-coated (no paint yet) and smelled bad, but no big deal. Rooms are all updated and very clean, but the lighting is all LEDs, so very harsh and not enough light anywhere in the room. Beds comfy. Shower heads designed for people under 5'8." But the worst part was breakfast. Just awful. Sugar cereals, danish, yogurt and instant oatmeal. No fruit anywhere, not even your typical hotel circle-eggs. You get what you pay for, and we certainly didn't get much for our $113.
I've been staying at this motel once a year since 2013. Great room at a great price. There were renovations going on and you could smell fresh paint in the hallway, but not inside the room. Highly recommended!
The room was a nice size but it smelled terrible.. Had a mold smell.. It was awful.. I will never stay there again..
We traveled through 5 New England states and spent a pleasant night here, All we ever need is a bed and bath and all was just fine for us,
We were impressed with the cleaning crew. They did an excellent job cleaning our room during our 5 day stay. We checked in but were not informed that the hotel was in the midst of a renovation. Water was shut off and we weren't informed of it or how long it would be shut off. It would have been nice to know to be able to schedule our shower prior going to visit a relative at the hospital. It would also be nice if the front staff were out of back office to greet guests, instead of a back room. We also realize there was a bell to summon them. Staff was very friendly and courteous
