We came from Plano on the DART to see Alvin Ailey at the Winspear Opera House. An easy walk from the train, check-in was smooth. Our room had big windows with a view of the rooftop swimming pool. The bed was so comfortable--high quality bedding and soft pillows. The only better hotel I've experienced is the St. Francis in San Francisco.
Double charged for stay No Marriott rewards membership recognition Impossible to reach them by phone Showed my prepaid reservation twice, they still charged me for the stay Shows them my Marriott rewards membership card twice, they never included my rewards number in the reservation. Tried to call them twice today and no answer. Not even a voicemail box! Not worth it.
I loved everything about the room. Very clean, modern, and obviously remodeled recently. Outlets and USB ports everywhere. Great lamps everywhere. Generous coffee set up in room. Great toiletries. Steamy shower. Comfy bedding.
An amazing hotel from start to finish. A beautiful hotel in the downtown with a convenient location in the downtown area. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Location perfect for a quiet get away and local transport close by. The only drawback was some construction in the lobby area when we were there. We stayed for 2 days with many good restaurants and bars in the area.
If you like an "Old World" feeling, you'll like the Adolphus. Not a great part of town, but they've renovated the rooms and the gym is actually great. Pool too small for laps, but really a nice deck for socializing. Staff is wonderful. Lots of ballrooms for events.
My flights were very late - the registration staff greeted me warmly and upgraded me to a wonderful suite. Sparkling clean, roomy, well appointed and top of the line.
Front desk staff was gracious and personal. Very nice
Everything was very luxurious. The only small complaint I had was that you were unable to bring any outside beverages into the pool area. I realize they have a full-service bar in the pool area, but it would have been nice if exceptions could occasionally be made to this rule. We had just spend the day prior in Fredericksburg and wanted to have our bottle of wine at the pool that we bought at the vineyard. It was a special occasion. The staff was very gracious, professional and the accommodations were great. Super comfortable beds.
Brand new renovated rooms. Spacious and convenience small details ie USB charging outlet on all the table lamps bases.
Beautiful hotel with excellent service. Great proximity to downtown amenities.
Stayed here one night during a business trip. The hotel was impressive and had that old school charm. The room was large, clean and comfortable. It is a block from Main Street and in the center of town which makes it extremely convenient. I arrived straight from the airport and they allowed me to check-in early which was very helpful. If you're driving be aware that parking is by valet and that there is a daily charge. This is pretty standard and wasn't a problem.
Arrived later in the afternoon of Monday and hotel folks were great! From the doorman to the registration clerk, all did an outstanding job!
The photos of the hotel don't represent the hotel very accurately. It is an original Dallas hotel and it definitely looks it. They are apparently starting renovations to update the look but I do not know when that will be complete. The price is a little misleading as it doesn't include all the services you will pay for each day you are staying (i.e. wifi, valet, etc.) In person the staff was wonderful and very helpful and the location was very nice. The coffee shop (Weekend) next door is one of the best i have ever visited.
A beautiful old-line hotel. No as special as it was during its golden age, but still a very nice experience.
The staff were very polite. The room view was a sight that brought conversations about history.
This hotel has a lot of history & it's in a great location. I've never been in elevators like theirs. The beautiful chandelier at the entrance is a nice historic touch. Overall, it's a unique hotel at a good value in the heart of the downtown!
We absolutely loved everything about the Adolphus in downtown Dallas! From the moment we pulled up at the valet, through check-in/out, everything was true perfect elegance. The entire hotel staff we encountered were professional and extremely courteous with a smile! Our room was simply breathtaking, old world charm, comfortable, and very spacious! We truly loved everything, and we will be back!
The public areas are superb ...the staff are wonderful...the view from my 21st floor room was excellent...however, their were no towels at all in the room...I had to call for them...also there was no waste basket in the bathroom...and there were unsightly stains on the couch...I chose this hotel for it's proximity to Dealy Plaza, which I toured...
We had a lovely experience at this hotel. My husband and I spent the night to celebrate our anniversary. The room was quaint but beautiful. We didn't have much of a view of the city which was a lil bit of a downer. A few areas needs a paint makeover. The bed was very comfortable. We took several baths since we had awesome hot water. The disappointment came when we went to get our leftovers from the mini fridge the next day. The refrigerator didn't work properly so the food spoiled. Great history retold in the lobby of the hotel and previous tenants.
The hotel is a Dallas classic old Lady. Great location close to Main St. and many excellent restaurants as well as shopping and attractions. The Lobby is full of dark wood, classic furniture as well as greenery. Rooms are updated, comfortable with classic features like crown molding, granite in the bathrooms and large windows. Upper floors have a minimum of street noise. Rooms are very large; mine was a bit smaller, but was a corner room with windows on both sides. Staff are friendly. Now for a few negatives; First, the lighting in the bathroom was terrible; very low light from small bulbs in fixtures either side of the mirror. Was a bit challenging to shave, let alone attempt to put on makeup. Second, for some reason, no waist basket provided anywhere in the room. First day, I took a plastic shopping bag and hung it off the bathroom sink for trash. The house cleaner dutifully emptied the trash bag every day and put it back in place!! There was a small fridge in the room and a small digital safe, but no in-room servi-bar, if that is important to you. Decent 40 inch flat screen TV with movies and usual cable. I am told the hotel, which is over 100 years old is due for a big update, but honestly the rooms and public areas are just fine now Rate on this site was very good and competitive to rates at some of the big name national chain hotels that are within 6-7 blocks.
