Nicky and crew run a great, convenient and clean hostel in the "Deep" heart of Dallas. A stone throw to great bars with live entertainment and lots of restaurants. Dart (local transportation) is literally around the corner allowing me to get to the Dallas Stars game in great time and an unexpected continental breakfast. I'll be back!!
The best hostel Ive ever stayed in. Brandon and the rest of the staff were amazing, the venue, rooms, common areas and bathrooms were spotless and homey. I will be back and I will recommend Deep Ellum to everyone you that I know will visit Dallas. Great place.
A one night stopover in Dallas only needed a clean bed and hot shower. What Deep Ellum Hostel offered was just that, but in an offbeat and quirky way. Extremely helpful staff - thanks for the beer Brandon! - did a great job of getting us comfy and oriented. Hostel was quiet, decor hipster, definitely recommend. One odd thing: breakfast was listed as “continental”. Typically this means pastries, cheeses, cold meats, coffee, fruit etc. Here it just means cereals, which aren’t food, and some fruit, which doesn’t really count. Just do your own brekkie.
The hostel is located near good bars, the neighborhood is full of wall arts. When you step into the hostel, a good surprise with the decor and employees. The beds are comfortable and there is a good space to store the luggage.
I saw some reviews before booking talking about the noise of the rooms but i though people can sometimes be hard on noise and with good hearplugs, you can sleep !. Well that was my mistake :D The music and bass were so loud it was impossible to stay in bed until 2am, my bed was moving, even chairs were moving by themself with the noise ! However, all reception person were very nice and the hotel is clean and nice as well- nothing to say about that. But i was looking for sleep, and that is the reason why i had to cancel my second night and find another hotel. However, if i go back to dallas with a group of friend for having party all night long, this is a perfect place with perfect location :) I put service and value POOR as i was looking for a good night sleep (which is possible in a Hostel as I've been doing this for few years now) but i guess this can differ from someone that just wanted to party.
Stayed for 7 nights/8 Days, First time at this Hostel and won't be the last! From the time my friend and i arrived (Early afternoon before check in) everything went super smooth; Rachel helped us get checked in fast and very accommodating. Great location, close to lots of Restaurants and Bars a very neat area full of lively entertainment and music. Always something to do and see and close to transit if you dont want to do Uber all the time. The bunks were comfortable and clean. The free continental breakfast was always a nice treat in the morning with lots of choices toast, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. The staff were always helpful and full of suggestions. Booty's Bar that is next to the hostel was a great addition and has entry through the hostel to enjoy food, drinks and music. The area can get loud usually starting Thursday and continuing over the weekend, bring ear plugs or they are provided at the front desk. Big shout out to all the staff, thank you for a wonderful stay. Your Canadian Girl, Cant wait to come back!!!
My wife and I like the Deep Ellum. So seeing that it is now possible to spend a night in Deep Ellum - right there in the middle of Deep Ellum - made me book a night on a business trip. I had read about the possible noise during the night and worried a bit, since I was gonna spend the night on a Thursday night. But no problem at all. Yeah, there was some music playing and people talking/shouting, but I could sleep through it all. I had booked a private room with private bathroom. It was nice and clean, and it had a small desk for work. The staff was polite and helpfull, and all in all it was a very good stay. Parking can be a problem, but I used the nearby Hospital parking that cost 5$ per night. The common areas were also clean, and used by the residents. Would I stay here again? Yes.
Great place to stay and in a great location. Nice comfortable beds. No bugs. Good people as well. Oh..and they have a really cool kinda secret door to a cool bar. Free breakfast is always a good thing too.
Wow this hostel was awesome! Staff told me everything I needed to know on check in. Awesome facilities, great and private bunks and private bathrooms that are always available and clean! Adjoining bar was funky with a great vibe, I’d definitely stay again!
I had a good stay. I like the location, the staff was friendly & helpful. Breakfast was good (toast, coffee, oatmeal, juice, cereal, oatmeal & apples.) I slept well, both nights I was there. They welcomed me with a complementary beer, fresh clean towel & a smile. Public transportation is near by, three blocks away to get you straight into downtown. When I come back to Dallas I will stay here again, it’s great find.
