Very poor experience with the host. The property had little to no basic supplies such as soap and paper towels, dishes & silverware looked dirty, and the yard was not well-maintained. We provided supplies ourselves and notified the host, and her response was to cancel the stay and threatened to evict my 74 year old mother-in-law on Christmas Eve for “violation of rules” because I booked the vrbo for her but I was not staying at the property. My mother-in-law does not speak much English and is not able to book Vrbo without assistance, and we just wanted her to be close to her grandkids on Christmas. In addition, the fire marshal came to the property based on a prior tenant's complaint or tip that the property did not have smoke detectors, which he confirmed after walking through the property. Not having smoke detectors is incredibly dangerous, so we got my mother-in-law out of the property and booked her other lodging. The host was very unprofessional and ignored the fact that when I booked the stay that I noted that it would be for my mother-in-law. I would not recommend this property or the host.
