We had a great time and LOVED the pool and hot tub. The manatees swam right by the hotel! We had a great time fishing and exploring the area.

The hotel is right on the river and the grounds are kept immaculate. Our room was unfortunately a different matter. It smelled like wet carpet and the shower pan had peeling paint everywhere. Felt dingy. Did not feel like I should have paid $140 for it. We had our dog with us and when I attempted to switch/upgrade the room they could not help us, because the pet friendly rooms are all the same- two double beds or one King. I was glad we only stayed one night. I also thought the river view upcharge was a waste on our side. Great starting point for a lot of local activities, like Manatee tours, fishing, golfing, kayaking....

Quiet environment. Seems like a nice place for families.

The room did not have heat that you could control in room, and if you have kids and you are a smoker get ready to spend an extra 25 on a room that has a patio.

We found it clean though old but comfortable. Location was awesome right on the river with a tiki bar, a pool and spa and gazebo. We enjoyed it very much until a 160 persons women's biker gang showed up. They should have told us when we were checking in. So Mon-Thurs was wonderful but Fri-Sat was horrible. People at the facility were the best ever. The breakfast was great but dinner (twice) not so great but the resort made it right for us. Get a waterfront room (quieter) and ask if any big noisy groups are staying. If you want to eat dinner there try the Grouper- not the meat. In spite of all this I would stay there again- I would just ask about groups first. And eat dinner elsewhere (Cody's or Vintage on 5th).

The staff was extremely friendly, the manatee trip was amazing, and the grounds were expansive, with croquet, shuffleboard, golf courses, and a great pool/tiki bar area.

The hotel looks as though 20 years ago it was great but now is run down. Carpet needs replacing, doors need repainting etc., the beds are soft and the rooms smell of damp. The rooms have paper thin walls, Anyone moving in the corridor or the next room may as we'll be in your room. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in for sound proofing. If someone opened a door the subsequent closing made you jump and every facet of conversation was heard from the next room. Good place for kids but if you don't have any then hope there are none in a room near you. As they run down the corridors it sounds like a herd of elephants. The staff listen to your complaints and then continue to charge you just the same. Personally next time I would chose a cheaper hotel that is a newer and better built. After 3 nights of not sleeping well due to banging, talking and partying into the night I am glad to be on my way home. The hot tub was nice.

Hotel has a beautiful entrance. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again!

Great Resort to stay for manatee watching very upscale

Great pool, meals were very tasty and reasonable for the fine dining atmosphere and preparation

Located in own beautiful grounds. Very accommodating staff who changed our room on arrival so we could have a patio as I smoke. Restaurant food really good and reasonably priced. Very comfy bed.

Very nice hotel for the area but doesn't compare to a resort of equal price.

Beautiful hotel with comfortable rooms. Enjoyed using the croquet set and taking the Manatee boat tour. The reason why I do not give this hotel a perfect five has to go to staff on how they handled (or lack there of?) a situation that occurred in the pool area. Needless to say, their hospitality was lacking in that department and prevents me from marking this trip as perfect. However, the manatees are the stars of the show and are a sight to see!

Weather wasn't great, looking forward to returning when the weather improves and we can take advantage of the pool and river.

Thank you for another perfect stay! We have never been disappointed in the Plantation Inn!

The place is in a great location and has a great staff and ammenities. The rooms however are only good. They have a humidity problem and everything feels damp. There is also very little sound insulation between rooms and any conversation next door comes through. The staff accomodated our request for a different room when we chcked in with no problem and gave us exactly what we wanted. The crew at the Tiki Bar arranged all of our tours and kept us well lubricated. All in all we'd go back and accept the small inconveniences.
