Stayed here one night ,,the one member of staff on check in helpful and friendly ,the room was comfortable ,clean and very modern,,,the hotel has a swimming pool and other facilities ,which I didn't get to use ,,the bar menu did not live up to expectations, ordered A typical portuguese bifana ,received 2 oz of meat in a baguette,,,the staff were unattainable most of the time except for the check in guy who was the only one interested in working,a coach load of people arrived later on during the evening so maybe all HANDS were on deck for them ,,,breakfast and check out went smoothly,,,annoyed some people by starting my bike up ,and letting it run to warm up ,,tried to explain that I couldn't hear them due to the noise,,,,it's a historical place ,nice location, would return , With bike,,
We had the opportunity of staying at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Braga on September, 2017. This hotel is pleasantly located on a hill overlooking the city, approximately 15 minutes away from downtown. The beauty and serenity of the surrounding area, the starry nights, the friendly and efficient staff and good food, made our stay truly memorable. We would be delighted to choose this hotel again.
The staff has been very helpful, any kind of need have been addressed with serious by them. Nice swimming pool, wonderful view from the room. The room is pretty big and the bathroom is with space. TV is an LCD with reasonable size, and with cable. Breakfast is the English type, with eggs, ham and mushrooms. Offering a bit of all that usually find on an European breakfast. Private parking. Nice surroundings for hiking or biking.
A great pool and an adequate breakfast, Kudos for the staff, specially in the breakfast as they were quite expedited. Even though you are a little far away from Braga it may serve as a good base to visit the area.
It was business trip visit! Breakfast was really good you have a variety to choose. The surroundings are really beautiful, and quiet. To spend a weekend i think is very good! The room is not great...! Not bad, but not great as expected for a 4 stars hotel. No free wi fi in the rooms.
Great location, lost in the green mountains. Very nice accommodation for couple, old building from outside, but recent restoration inside. Great value for return services. Good for parking. Unfortunately outdoor swimming pool was closed...
4 stars hotel?! This must be a bad joke!! Room smells of mold. Carpets dirty. Very old furniture. Dirty walls. WIFI connection only around the reception. When i saw the room, i had to check also inside swiming pool. Again dirty, hair everywhere. This hotel needs a big investment. But i am sure that i can be cleaned also wothout them, but no one there cares. Unfortunately i can upload only 3 photos, because i have more to show!! Definitely don´t go to this place!!!!!!!!!
I offered my family a getaway in the Hotel Golden Tulip Braga and it was perfect to escape the holiday's rush. The Hotel is situated on top of a Hill so it was magnificent views and it's very near the famous religious points of Bom Jesus de Braga and Santuário do Sameiro. Because it was raining, we took the car, but we saw that there was bus option to get around and that is also possible to walk (about 5 km) to the sanctuaries. The hotel was very warm and comfortable to be in. The building itself used to be a convent, so it still has a chapel in it! The decoration is a beautiful mixture of modern furniture with the old artifacts - pretty cool! My parents really enjoyed the Spa, especially the jacuzzi. The wifi didn't always work, but for us that was ok. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will return without a doubt!
Staff was friendly and very discreet. You'd almost not notice they are there, which is exactly ther way I like it. This is an old monastery set in the outskirts of the city. Rooms are nice, but public areas are gorgeous! Breakfast is great. It was November, so I didn't try the outdoor pool, but the temptation was there... even in November. It's that beautiful.
Interesting but unloved building, far away from the downtown. Ancient convent restored in quite proper way. Good food at restaurant. Quite correct sized rooms. Very poor wi-fi coverage, what is nowadays incredible in such a hotel.
