Hotel is really shabby needs complete refurbish.no air conditioning,no wheelchair access.very noisy gangs of young people shouting all night and slamming doors ,impossible to get any sleep.food very bland same thing every day, staff were quite good ,would never go here again
I'll keep this as short and as fair as I can. This is a 1980's hotel which is exactly the same as when it was built, plus 30 years of wear and tear. If your looking for a cheap all inclusive hotel with 3rd rate beer and spirits, served in a kid's party cup, all you can drink (cup is so small, you'll probably get fed up queing at the "all inclusive" line at the bar) then you'll be happy. This hotel is dated and basically a stag/hen party hotel. Rooms are tired but have the basics, bed, toilet and shower. Sleeping at night is impossible, unless you are out on the town until 5.00am....partying, shouting, banging doors. Food was OK, if your not a fussy eater, we ate out, even though we were inclusive. Staff were uninterested, but given the clientele that the hotel was attracting, could'nt really blame them. So..bottom line, if you want a hotel with a bed and cheap drink to use a base, this would suit you 100%. But if your looking a relaxing/quiet holiday, or have problems with stairs/steps you will not be comfortable here.......On a positive side, you get what you pay for and it is a cheap holiday........P.S...Not a hotel I would take children to.....
holiday is what you make it..so it dipped what your looking for if it's a quiet relaxing holiday I wouldn't advise or for a family holiday.. Cheap and cheafull was what we going for (young couple).. yes the hotel was dated but it was clean!! Food was ok good drinks all incisive bar till 12pm snack bar open till 11.45pm everything is in walking distance beach 7min walk down the road clubs 5min walk.. it can be noisy in the nights but never bothered us to much.. their were a few 'lads holidays' but no drams!! We enjoyed our holiday and would go back
Make sure you check with your travel agent of Shuttle Transfers as they can get confusing or miss you off the list. If flying into Barcelona the transfer time will be approx 1hr 45mins. We were greeted at 2.30am with drunk teenagers on the doorstep..literally and when checking in you will be asked to pay 7 euros for tourist tax. This hotel is located opposite the bus station of Lloret de Mar and close to the main strip so everything is close. In the height of the season there is going to be a lot of teenagers due to the 24hr drinking clubs and the price. Rooms are basic, no fridge, no kettle and no aircon. Yet you have beds, dressing table, wardrobe, balcony (small), TV (remote need deposit of 20 euros) and toilet. So if you are looking for a 4/5 star hotel well this is not it.... Stars are awarded differently over there so yes 3 stars may seem good... in the UK. Yet over there it means average. Swimming pool well I didnt use as too many people and small area not my style especially with children around too. Best thing is utilise the place to get food and drinks and rest in the sun terrace and see the sights around you. Note you will be given a recycle card to obtain your half of a half pint plastic cup which you will need at the bar (if all inc) and it is 1 drink per person. DO NOT Lose your cup as they will charge you 2euros. Food ... well for me personally I enjoyed the meals and there was variety within the restaurant, they try hard to make sure the trays of hot food are always full fending off the vultures!! And between meals they have a snack area which is the same all the time.. burgers chips and salad. Cleanliness of the hotel is good and they make sure the sheets are changed and cleaned and toilet roll stocked up and bins emptied. Again these are dated rooms and if the hotel had more money I am sure they would spend it on renovating and updating the hotel yet you will look at over a year to do this. There is security on site which is great and the staff are polite and helpful as long as you are polite to them. So noise levels within the hotel well as I mentioned this is a 24hr drinking town and you will get noise as the doors/rooms are not sound proof... suggestion bring some ear plugs as my swimming ones were amazing and I had a great sleep. So Checklist Travel Agent re transfers/7 euros for Tourist Tax/Keep hold of the plastic cup/ear plugs/travel iron/travel kettle/tea bags/factor 50/open minded/polite to staff/good books Lloret de Mar is busy and you will get accosted by the locals to come and try the beer or buy from the store... its how they get paid. The beach is great yet 19.50 euros for 2 deckchairs and 1 umbrella for 1 day is alot if you like the beach... bring or buy a brollie. Get out and experience the place as there is some hidden treasures. With all this in mind you will have a better time
Just got home from a few nights away. The grand casino is cheap And extremely rundown. Food... Well not much to say... Rolls and salad and desserts are good. Apart from that eat elsewhere. Beds are comfortable unless you get woken up at 3am by kids playing music at the highest volume possible. And I was wearing ear plugs. We had some kid knocking on our door in the early hours to let them in so they could climb over and go next door. They did not expect the response they were given. It does not matter how many times you complain about the noise at 3/4 in the morning it still carries on. The hotel just wants the young foreign kids money. When we left the hotel this morning I noticed that next door had a "do not disturb" sign on their door. Needless to say they were woken up at 8am. I was not planning to be quite after getting woken up by them. So made as much noise as possible. Don't know what the pool was like as people put their towels on the sun lounges then go out for the day then come back to them. Which is unfair to others. We went to the beach instead which is much nicer.
I stayed here from June 11th 2017 till the 15th with my wife and we rather enjoyed our stay. It was a bit noisy in the night with people hanging about near the hotel and other guests were a bit loud when returning back late night but apart from that it was worth the money I paid. It's a basic hotel with a good bar and restaurant and some nice facilities for young kids. It has a nice pool area and the staff were quite helpful. It's located very close to all the shops and clubs in lloret de mar and also has a bus station right opposite which was very convenient, the beach is exactly 0.7km away which was a 10 min walk for us. This hotel also has a free bus service taking you to almost all the close by parks and other tourist attractions. I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind a bit of noise at night and want a cheap and cheerful place to stay.
Went for a friends 40th birthday......please if you are even considering going with children .......my heart goes out to you.........it's dreadful.........arrived on all inclusive early flight got a taxi there to have to wait about 2 hours to actually check in... receptionist was ever so busy ..lol.....then told us to feel free to go to bar etc......with our all inclusive card and a card for a plastic glass lol......only to find at 11 am we couldn't have a drink until 12 noon when we were actually allowed to enjoy the comforts of all inclusive ....what a farce......room was a discrace .....a double bed and a single bed with a camp bed underneath which we kept kicking every time we tried to get on the balcony...as for bath.?.... that's another story none of us dared pick up the bath mat lol the bath was filthy and rusty .........please please please if you have children do not even consider going , thankfully mine were at home with their father ......night life started at 11 ish......died down at 12 obviously to get changed.....and then they all went out again till 5.30 am so no sleep to be had whatsoever......all I can say is a hotel from hell ......please seriously consider before you book ...as for the food if you like salad and pasta you will survive.....I tried other things but hey not good ......breakfast was ok if you like hard rolls, hot dog sausages etc......I appreciate it was a cheap deal however there is cheap and then there is ..CHEAP ....and nasty.....just a heads up for anyone thinking of going xxxx
Hotel bit dark and dated. food ok not much changed within the week. Husband lived on chicken and chips. Cleaners every day and clean towels daily. Once you left restaurant in morning u couldn't get a cuppa until bar opened at 10! Couldn't get near pool for stag parties. Definitely not a family hotel due to streakers and noise on a night time. Kicking and banging on doors shouting in corridors. Street noise is bareable when doors closed but very hot rooms with no air conditioning! This is ideal for 18- 30s holidays. Central location. Rang security 3 nights out of 6, twice in one night! Feel like mislead on the family hotel description. One staff member on the desk Anna was very helpful and offered information and tips on how to get around. Very approachable and customer orientated, She's waisted here and should have a higher position else where. Visited 2 other Half Top hotels while there. Would definitely stay at them especially calella palace. Fantastic. Entertainment diabolical! Long lines to be served at bar!. 2 sets of cards to remember! No air conditioning! Staff miserable and unhelpful! Lifts are a total nightmare. Too many steps no good for anyone with walking difficulties! Not be returning to the grand casino royal!
I arrived late after a long transfer, my room was clean, but really needed a update, as ceiling in bathroom mouldy, and bath disgusting, food could not fault, and plenty of it, but hotel so noisy with people running up and down corridors in the night, banging of doors all hours, and loud shouting, it was impossible to get a nights sleep, lloret de mar a lovely area, but hotel spoilt holiday,
I stayed in the Palm Beach before but this time they booked the Gran Royal. I was expecting the same 3 stars service. I read the reviews and to be honest I was not looking forward to it. I would give 2 stars only,1 for location and 1 for staff.I booked a bus online called Hoppa. They are useless. Our flight was delayed 2 and half hours on the website they stated they would pick me up from they airport maximum wait 40 minutes. We landed around 11pm.No one was waiting, called the company and they said they can pick me up at 2 am.What a joke.I won't use them again. I had to look for alternative transport. The bus station is just right there at Girona airport. The ticket is €10 to Lloret de Mar and it takes about 35 minutes. Finally I got to the hotel around 1 am.The receptionist was very friendly.I just wanted a hot drink. He asked me if I needed anything, told him just milk if possible. He said he will try, half hour later he got a cup of warm milk for me.Thank you,Bedro. :)The hotel location is perfect, the bus station is just the other side of the road. Its about 10 minutes walk from the beach. The rooms are basic with old furnitures but it was clean and that didn't bother me.There is a football pitch across the road, they play football every day and that didn't bother me either. What bothered me the most is the noise during night.I went for 7 nights all inclusive. I haven't had 1 night that I could sleep through without any disturbance.People's behaviour was outrageous. The usual, they drink too much and argue or sing or shout.I don't get it how they can behave like this. The meals are at set times, never had breakfast but it's supposed to be continental. I had lunch and dinner. The selection is far less than in the other HTOP hotel. The food wasn't great as well.I like fish, sea food and chicken, don't eat pork.I tried salmon(it was supposed to be) but I didn't like it,looked like they just roasted it and put some gravy on it,no taste.I had some prawns as well and that was over cooked. So I had limited choice but at least it suited my diet.Just had salad and chicken.Desserts are ok,few cakes, rice pudding, jelly, custard, fruits. The snacks are available after lunch and dinner and usually the left overs from the courses. The swimming pool is small and crowded so I haven't spent time there. There are few shops and restaurants around but on the main street you can find what you fancy.I got a tattoo done.:)The shop called Extreme body and it's on Santa Christina Road, close to Burger King. His price was the best, half than the others. There is a lovely ice cream shop not far from there, great selection and only €1 a scoop.:)The beach is nice, very busy at weekends. Overall experience was ok,I wouldn't go back to the same hotel until they refurbished it (apparently next year) and they start vetting people or bring rules in regards to noise and behaviour.
