We have been to Malgrat several times and have stayed at several hotels there, we prefer the Papi because of its location nearer to the old town. The refurbed dining room was a vast improvement - the meals were enjoyable, the staff great and cleanliness of the hotel and the room was very good. Only one grump the the entertainment on the *prom* left a lot to be desired bring back Simon Grant.

My wife and I spent a week here ending June 18th. This is a recently refurbished and excellently run hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are very helpful even if they do not speak your particular language. We had a difficulty with lost luggage during a coach transfer which was very efficiently handled by the desk staff late at night who contacted the coach company on our behalf. I was very impressed by the response to this as an indication of the culture of the organisation. Our room was very recently refurbished and spotlessly clean, on the fourth floor and the housekeeping was most meticulous by the excellent cleaning staff. The catering and meals were to cruise-ship standard and of very high quality. The variety was astounding and the themed menus change every day. We were half-board and the quality and quantity were more than enough for us. The pool area and decking had just been finished ready for this season. The grouting, mosaic work and jacuzzi areas showed no sign of staining ao damage with nothing missing or eroded and all of the deck furniture, umbrellas and couches were pristine. There is nightly entertainment for those who want it and a kids club with what appears to be brand new facilities. We travelled on an Easyjet package and the value for money of this hotel was astounding. We intend to return for a short visit next year.

Just stayed in Hotel Papi for 5 nights and I'm currently traveling home as I write this. Now can I just say that at first glance the hotel is beautiful and the staff seem very friendly but after my experiences there I won't be going back. We are told we have all inclusive bar time between certain hours but all we can drink is Estrella or Vodka, I personally believe that this is false advertisement. Meals are one of the biggest things that put me off, every night has to have a theme apparently and the section at the end for people who can't eat the theme food is pathetic, TWICE have I accidentally ate squid because it wasn't labelled, the first time it was labelled as chicken and the second time I thought it was onion rings! That's pure dangerous. Most of the nights themes were Asian foods which I personally find disgusting so most the time I settled with lettuce. The desserts and breakfasts are exactly the same everyday, nothing ever gets changed up and it becomes very tedious, especially with only two coffee machines that are over run by children (because there's a school trip every day to this hotel apparently, the place is swarming with children). This brings me to the next part, entertainment. The entertainment in this place was terrible! It wasn't until the last day I realised there's some gaming machines downstairs but the events the staff put on are either always the same or just boring. Ok so we got to watch someone make Sangria, not try it ourself, but watch someone make it, wahoo! There's a bloody kids disco every night until about 10:30PM which is in the main part of the bar so there's no way to relax or just enjoy normal music, instead it's the crazy frog and stupid party songs. Then the only live music we had was a band called Orangelane, and these played live 3 times whilst I was there, I was only there 5 nights! And to make it worse, the acoustics are terrible and they play the same songs every night they return. Oh and the whole hotel has new bathrooms which is good if you're going soon but in a few months I wouldn't bother because there's no fan or ventilation in the new bathrooms which means, mould. I don't want to seem like I'm picking at the small things but at the end of the day that's what makes a good review. In conclusion, terrible food, terrible entertainment, school trips constantly and forced to watch and listen to kids dance even at 10:30pm and lack of information throughout hotel. I've stayed in many 3* hotel and this is the worst by far.

We went on a national holiday trip to see the Spanish grand prix and had four nights at hotel papi. The staff was brilliant, friendly and the hotel was very clean. The food we had at breakfast and dinner was really good and plenty to choose from. The hotel is right in the centre of malgrat de mar and close to all the bars and restaurants. Well done to all the staff. Definitely be back if in that area again.

Plenty of amenities nearby with bars and restaurants and shops. It was also very near the beach too. The hotel room was nice and the food varied with cheap drinks at the bar for a hotel. To be recommended,

We stayed at hotel papier during the Barcelona grand prix weekend. The rooms were adequate and had balconies. Plenty of food choices at breakfast and tea time. The pancakes at breakfast were actually delicious. Nice bar near the pool/sunbathing area. Hotel was nice and clean and well maintained. About ten minute leisurely stroll to train station. An hour and fifteen minutes to get to Barcelona centre. Was well worth the journey. Five minutes walk to beach and sea front shops. Two minute walk to tobacco shop and pubs/restaurants. Only downside is there's a nightclub right next to the hotel. On a Friday and Saturday night the music can be heard throughout the hotel until about 4/430 a:m. Nightclub closed rest of week. Was peaceful enough on the other nights. Overall if you're looking for a budget hotel with close amenities it's worth booking. Recalled enjoyed our stay apart from nightclub noise.

4th stay at this hotel changes made to restaurant not the amount of desserts as before they were 1st class never seen selection like it anywhere now repetitive re typical Spanish desserts but still very good main food great good variety p!enty to choose from small salad pots were different and great, restaurant times changed which was different but very convenient if full board not having to rush back. Staff lovely helpful spotless hotel lovely pool outside seating, Would return and RECOMMEND.
