Got back yesterday after a six day break. The hotel is lovely rooms have been refurbished to a good standard and is spotless. Staff were all friendly and very helpful. Food was okay not as good as I thought it was going to be but adequate. Only criticism not always hot could do with extra microwave. Entertainment good they tried to put something different on every night. Bad points situated by busy island so could be noisy but could put up with that but not the gangs of youths booked into hotel kicking doors and shouting at five oclock in morning! The hotel accepts large groups all housed together of teenage youths. Totally spoilt our holiday singing shouting at all hours. Would not return because of this. Shame cos its a nice hotel but wouldnt go agaim for this reason.

just come back from a week stay at this hotel and can only say the good thing about it was the food and SOME of the staff !!! Never been in a hotel before and not had a hairdryer provided also had to pay 20 euros to hire a tv remote control so my husband could catch up with the news. The room was very small and quite dark and there were 2 double beds in there for just me and my hubby which made it very cramped , our friends next door were lumbered with 2 single beds,,,,, not ideal. Its a big hotel and therefore loses the personal touch. Try not to check in or out during the early hours of the morning say no more !!!!! still waiting on a response from the hotel.

Stayed at the Papi years ago and we were so impressed with the food served we decided to go this year...what a mistake that was rarely warm yet alone hot,the breakfast was the worst that we have ever experienced in all the hotels that we have stayed in..if you like bacon, fried egg and beans everyday well this hotel is ideal,Brown sauce was not allowed out at breakfast times and there was rarely any salt and pepper to be found in the restaurant..many of the guests were complaining of upset stomachs which we put down to the food as my husband and I were both ill half an hour after eating battered fish and were ill for 2 days and had to stay in our room so as to be near the toilet...the restaurant staff rarely smiled and told you where to sit..the reception were polite and welcoming as we're the cleaners and other staff..we will definitely not be stopping here again.

This hotel has the potential to be really nice. The reception and bar areas are attractive as is the restaurant. However, the children's splash area is rarely open (fair enough as it requires a member of staff to be present but it's a shame), the stone area where children could have explored was dirty and hazardous. The choice in the restaurant looked impressive but, as with many of these buffets, seemed much the same after a couple of days. The room was fine and always clean. Ultimately, you get what you pay for and if you pay for a cheap package that's what you get!

Just come back from Hotel Papi first the reception area and bar is furnished to a high standard. The pool area is very nice as well the pool is great for kids. The restaurant do themed nights the American night and Chinese themed nights the food was really nice apart from that the food was ok not fantastic and not bad. The hotel rooms are quite small but nicely decorated the only thing I would say is about the bedrooms is there are no kettles or coffee or tea in the rooms I’ve stayed in 8/9 hotels in Spain and it’s the first hotel I’ve stayed that does not offer that facilities. The beach is a 3-4 minute walk away if you like kebabs there is a restaurant called Istanbul kebab house go and try there kebabs are the best I’ve ever eaten.

the meals are brilliant lots of choice service excellent location ideal for all facilities and beach and railway station and old town night entertainment very good for all ages really friendly people all nationalities loved our stay will be back next year

I booked a cheap, last minute getaway as the summer in London was abysmal as usual, and Spain/Catalonia is always a cheap and cheerful option. This was my first holiday away with my 4 year old godson, who is a fussy one, and luckily Hotel Papi provided everything he would need for his ever-changing tastes and desires. -The Good- Instantly at arrival, the staff were welcoming and super friendly, and fluent in many languages. I specifically chose this hotel after reading the reviews from English people complaining that there are not enough English people there...! Thank God. (I will never understand why people are so desperate to be around their own and not embrace different cultures) Instead, Hotel Papi had a refreshingly eclectic mix of clientele; German, Russian, Spanish, English, Dutch and everything in between. I'm sure I heard a whole host of languages while I was there. The staff also reflected this as there seemed to be waiters, receptionists and pool staff from all over the world. I was particularly glad to befriend the handsome lifeguard ;) made lounging by the pool that much more appealing. Food was available almost all day. From breakfast at 7:45am - 10:15am, then a short break before the extended lunch hours 12pm - 4pm, and then another dinner changeover at 5pm till close at 9. As a previous negative review stated that the food was left out for ages, this is not the case. There were chefs cooking up small batches on demand during the quieter times, and were at the cooking stations full steam ahead during the busier times. Plenty of options for healthy and naughty diets, and a themed portion which changed every dinner time (for example, Monday was asian night, Tuesday was American, etc) We made sure to have the 2 meals a day option - extremely flexible here, you can chose which two meals you want and chop and change it daily if you wish. Perfect if you wake up late - which never happens with a 4 year old in tow - or are in town during one of the meals. The rooms weren't particularly spacious, admittedly, but they were cleaned daily and the bathroom was pretty good. Powerful shower, constant hot water, and spacious. Also every room has a balcony, although it cant be opened from the outside, which I learnt the hard way after being locked out and had to use my conversational Spanish with a delivery guy below to help me out. The layout of the place was smart and clean. The restaurant where you could have the inclusive meals was large and bright, and cleaned quickly by the efficient waiting staff. A billiards area where you can relax and play pool was opposite. There were various staircases and elevators at different points so the gangways were never crammed. The pool area is pretty big compared to all the other hotels in the area, with a kids pool open at set times during the day. We only found trouble getting a sun lounger if we were late and went down after midday, but there were a lot of hidden areas you could find a seat, or plump for the grassy bit. The water was always freezing though. Great on a hot day, but took some getting used to Near the pool was the bar and entertainment area, which was also spacious, and underneath there was a games area. Next to the pool there was a separate room for kids with all sorts of arts and crafts and board games, which my godson enjoyed. Every day the entertainment staff put something on for the kids, which was great. And also for the adults (here it is mostly young families and older, retired folk. Dont come here for a party or to meet other young people. It's more of a chilled family vibe... thank god for the lifeguard!) In fact there was entertainment every night, which I was happy to pass up and explore the area, but my godson loved it. Location is fantastic. It's in the centre of everything; shops, restaurants, bars/pubs, beach, kids parks/play areas... everything is within walking distance or on your doorstep. I walked everywhere, and the furthest I ever had to walk was 40mins to the Marineland water park (there is a free bus service, but I wanted to leave earlier and take in the village) And everything here is reasonably priced, despite the weak Brexit pound sterling against the euro. I was 3 minutes walk from a cheap, well equipped gym that was attached to a mini-golf course, which the kids could enjoy while I worked out. What more could I want? In terms of the service and making us feel comfortable as guests, the Hotel Papi staff were more than accommodating. Whenever we needed anything, they were happy to provide. Whether it was a spare key as we had left the original one on the bed, or a much needed late check out on the last day (an extra 20euro for the room for as long as you needed it). -The Negative- While I would absolutely stay here again, and my godson's family have already booked next year here, there is a little room for improvement that I feel it is fair to note. Unfortunately, noise travels in this hotel. Our room was situated opposite the Robin Hood pub, which meant noisy Brits and off-key karaoke till the wee hours of the morning. We struggled to sleep through this, even with the balcony door closed. Instead of complaining, we purchased some ear-plugs and that drowned out most of the noise. If you are as light a sleeper as me, do avoid this part of the hotel. I'm sure if we had asked to move, they would have accommodated without hesitation. The bathroom had a little bit of a stale smell (windowless) and I had to jig the flush now and then to stop it from constantly flushing. But water pressure was great and it didnt trouble us too much. While the food was actually not bad, especially by all-inclusive standards, I'm rather picky when it comes to good food and I found myself really tiring of the selection and meals towards the end of the trip. Definitely opt for the half board as we did to sample the local cuisine (see my review of the nearby Bei Pepe). There weren't enough healthy breakfast options, although it was a good breakfast... just not ideal for a health conscious gym-goer like me. And if you got there later, the queues for food and coffee were a little long. And the food wasn't always piping hot. They also have a strange system where you have to pre-load a drinks card as there weren't any complimentary drinks available during lunch and dinner, including water (which was a bit odd) And that's about it! Love this place, and I will go back... a home away from home. I actually miss it, and I was there only 2 days ago at the time of this review

Just arrived back from hotel papi. Didn't want to leave! The whole hotel was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The room was small but fine and very clean. Really liked the food. Reception, restaurant and bar staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The mini club was fabulous the animation team were so lovely. Plenty of space around the pool and the little waterpark was brilliant. Malgrat is a small friendly resort perfect for families and will be happy to return. Thank you to all hotel staff for everything you made our holiday :)

Stayed here in August 2017 with my 2 sons 9 and 18 . Downside was the rooms .they are so small it's depressing! Seriously it was 2 single beds and a fold up bed all pushed together. IT was the worse beds ive slept in !And the pillows smelt !! I got moved by The morning to another room which wasn't much better but The view over looked The swimming pool which was much better than a concrete building. The bathroom was tiny and constantly had this kinda sewage smell in it. U could actually hear word for word people in other room talking that's how thin walls were! U had to pre pay for drinks at food times by a token card which was annoying. Everything had a charge to it ! Plus side .. the hotel is very local to everything which made the holiday good .the beach was at bottom of road along side arcades and quad bike riding .there was so many shops and restaurants right at the bottom of the road .we used the supermarket across the road alot especially to but cold drinks as they were 80 euros and were 200 euros In the hotel !! The swimming pool was nice and starts off shallow which is good but it's not heated and is colder than ice water .they have a small section they call aqua park which is only open on request ?? Or at 3pm depending on staff .there's an outside Jacuzzi and lots of seating areas around pool to sun bathe and fake grass which is lovely! Non slip floors outside which again makes a big difference! .the food was actually nice ,it was a small area but it worked well ! .hotel entertainment was very good. Normally hotels lack this part but thiz had late night swimming! Parrot shows ! All sorts going in which made a difference. I think the biggest let down was the rooms! .no English plug sockets no hairdryer no fridge no soap it was really sad to have to stay in this room as I felt it let it down! I would return
