Bathroom would welcome refurbishment. Hotel should have made it clear on website that that dining menu would be limited to a Xmas menu.

Room was not ready on arrival, the room had not been used, the heating was off and it was very cold. Staff were courteous and turned heating on which took a while to heat up, especially the hot water. We pre-booked for our dog to be in the room with us, but the promised bed, bowl and welcome pack was not provided, but we did not have to pay the extra charge for this. Breakfast was hugely disappointing with no tomato or hash brown in the "full" english and the remainder, with the sole exception of the egg was dried out, I guess having been kept warm for far too long. We didn't have time to say anything until checkout when the receptionist said she would mention this to the chef. We appreciate we have to eat in the bar with our dog, but this was also cold.

This hotel has so much potential but falls a bit short. Here's why: 1. We arrived by car at a very wet time. The main car park has many deep puddles. The area in front of the hotel is laid to sand. Inside my car is lots of sandy foot marks. This area should be properly laid to gravel or something less grubby. 2. The sign pointing to Reception is suffering from outside exposure. It's hard to see which way the arrow is pointing. Gives a poor welcome. 3. Reception was fine and we had a charming room (No 1) with four poster bed and plenty of room. 4. The electrical sockets are tucked away in difficult places to reach so charging phones etc was awkward. 5. WiFi was good. 6. This bathroom had a sloping ceiling and big beams. There was a sign saying 'Mind Your Head' but who remembers that all the time. If it was my hotel, I would put some neat padding over the hazardous beam. Many old pubs do this with some nice leather and brass studs. 7. There were four small bottles of shampoo, gel, hand cream etc. which were ok for one use. They were not replaced the second day but fortunately we had taken our own supplies. It smacks of a hotel struggling and penny pinching. 8. Actually, there was no hot water in the hotel on Sunday morning so we didn't need the toiletries! 9. Breakfast was very good. Saturday - waitress service and a huge choice of really nice food. Sunday - buffet but also good. 10. The general atmosphere of the hotel is good. Just needs a bit of attention.

This hotel is a long way off a 4* establishment, paint pealing from the bathroom ceilings and walls, mold and damp around the windows, carpets are decades old and the general decor is mismatched and very dated. All the wood in the bathroom was blown and had paint pealing off it.Despite being a pet friendly hotel there doesn’t seem to be any direction on where and when pets are allowed throughout the hotel, maybe this should be briefed on arrival and prevent any ill feelings being directed to your guests. Be prepared on arrival to park your car in a mud filled car park so wear appropriate footwear before leaving the car.

Guyers House Hotel was situated in a beautiful location. Check in was straight forward. Comfortable room. Breakfast was delightful with plenty of choice. Unfortunately we had no hot water on the day of departure to which the reception staff were informed. It would have been nice to have had the compliments refilled as we booked for two nights. The hot chocolate was rather lovely. We recommend Mother & Wild as a local place to eat out in Corsham, friendly staff and fabulous food.

Party of 4. Hotel was nice, room was clean but a bit tired. The very young waiting staff were very helpful and polite but could see they lacked training. That’s no criticism of them at all. Reception ( I think it was the manager) has no personal skills lacked eye contact and didn’t smile or feel welcoming at all. Very short staffed overall. Saturday evening was just the chef and one young boy doing everything, he was very polite and did his best. He was in Jeans and trainers which wasn’t very professional at all. The staffs uniform wasn’t consistent. The whole experience lacked finish. Food was excellent, apart from we asked for 3 bread rolls to have with soup and smoked salmon starter and the lovely waitress said ‘chef would only give me two, I have to upsell a bread basket’ We didn’t have any bread to begin with ! As said food was good, it didn’t gel with rest of establishment the whole place was dis jointed. Restaurant had no atmosphere, too quiet, I asked for the background music to be put on and the young boy did. Ran out of food in menu on Saturday evening, only about 15 in restaurant, unacceptable! Could be a wonderful place, but overall poorly managed and no attention to detail. Young staff were great polite and helpful. Manger and higher end staff need to improve .

Well what to say…so overall a bit of a poor show of a hotel! Very dated in every way, definitely needs some work and updating….even a lick of paint may help! Several of the staff felt like that they couldn’t be bothered to be there really. When arriving we found a worm in the toilet…god knows how it got there…but random! Bed and mattress were absolutely terrible…like sleeping on a speed bump! Breakfast on their website suggest opulence and a great menu…in reality Tesco value bacon and sausages, overcooked and not great at all!!!! Could be a great hotel but really needs some time and money spent on it.

The hotel states fresh local produce, breakfast was hard bacon, strange tasting sausages (not edible) tinned button mushrooms and almost £19 - really?? As per another’s review mould in bathroom, paint flaking on woodwork, dirty walls, quilt cover far too small for the bed, one coffee pouch and one chocolate pouch in a double room. Paid the extra £50 for 2 dogs, and for that you expect the rooms to be clean. Would not recommend and definitely would not stay ever again - the owner seriously needs to update everything or close the place

Literally the worst value for money of any hotel room in my life. Arrived before 11pm Saturday, yet couldn't get a drink in the bar or room (all pubs in town were also closed). Other guests were also refused service, and were very unhappy. Shower was hanging off the wall. No USB chargers/mains plugs by bed. Dated rooms with stained, dirty paintwork and faded old pictures. Curtains too small for window. Mould in the bathroom, pervasive smell of damp in room. Hot water takes minutes to come through, making hand-wash impractical. Call to reception unanswered. Car charger not working. Single decaf sachet / chocolate / toiletries in double room. Building is lovely though, it's just a shame that neither the staff nor the management seem to give the slightest care to the place or its guests.
