Stayed here for one night alone during a motorcycle tour of Spain and France. Hotel is up a steep hill and has good views of the surrounding area. I was greeted on arrival by a charming lady whose English wasn’t that good but she tried her hardest. To me it was a good thing; at last I could try some French. The hotel has a locked garage and access to it is not available outside hours 11.00pm to 7.00am. The hotel room was comfortable but although I had quite a large room, it did not have a bath. Further, the water pressure was poor which meant the modern rain shower fitting was almost useless. This marred what was otherwise a perfectly good hotel. The poor water pressure may have been a one-off problem – I did not investigate. The hotel offers free wifi which was reliable most of the time, but I did suffer a period when it kept dropping out. Internet using data roaming worked OK in this location. I ate in their restaurant which was almost empty. But the meal was good and I enjoyed it very much. One staff member kindly offered to help me with choosing some good motorcycling roads – a subject close to all bikers’ hearts. I didn’t take her up on the offer as my route was already planned – but this could interest other bikers. Send them an email for details.
Very and and confortable hotel, ideally located to explore wonderfull Limousin region. Pleasant combination of old building featured with modern elements. Good restaurant. Excellent service. Managing director Françoise is just amazing : efficient, friendly and omnipresent. Customer satisfaction is top priority in this establishment Brigitte&Philippe/Belgium
The welcoming was done by Maeva, she was all alone for different tasks: serving in the restaurant, picking up the phone, welcoming guests etc. A big thank you to her because everything was done with a smile and all guests me included were impressed by her service and efficiency. The hotel room was very big and clean, the restaurant of the hotel was delicious. I will come back!
We found this place by chance as a convenient stopover between Geneva and the South West of France to visit old friends. It is a large old school building beautifully renovated with large rooms. A bonus was finding that it had been visited in 1998 by Hilary Clinton whilst husband Bill was busy in Paris. Having been warned by the other reports that the restaurant was not very good we had decided to go a local eatery. However, we had forgotten that almost everything in France shuts down on a Monday so we had no option but to eat at the hotel. As the set menu did not look very exciting (steak and chips) we went for the à la carte choices and apart from a rather indifferent vegetable soup we were pleasantly surprised, The fish of the day turned out to be a delicious piece of fresh cod with tasty accompaniments. And the dessert was a delight! Washed down with an excellent glass of reasonably-priced wine we were a very satisfied couple. Next day's breakfast was also full of choices including fresh scrambled eggs and sausages even although there was only a handful of guests in the hotel. The nearby beautifully restored medieval village was also most interesting to visit. A great start to our holiday in France!
Large, comfortable attractive room with a comfortable bed and a wonderful rainfall shower that I didn't wish to leave. The staff were friendly, helpful and very attentive. Dinner was exquisite. I wish I had more time and I will be back.
La Seniorie Hotel is a true GEM in Location Comfort and Service. On check in i was met by a most friendly and help host who welcomed me to their hotel and got me off to my room without delay. The Restaurant although quiet was well manned with a very nice young lady who explained all in both English and French and service was just super and friendly the meal was well presented and tasty. My room was warm clean and comfortable and larger than many other accor properties. Breakfast in the morning was vast and well laid out with traditional French and international products. I have stayed here before and was pleasantly greeted by the General Manager as he walked through the breakfast room - immediately recognising me from prior visits - this is something special and I crave that recognition and here they are very good at it - I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL without a second thought.
We spend one night in La Senior and we were pleased of the kind reception and personal attention. Our room was large with a nice view of the surrounding green zones. Bed was comfortable, but could be improved with larger (or more) cushions and a simple headboard. Swimming pool could definitely be improved (garden furniture and water quality) Dinner on the beautiful terrace was good but overpriced, breakfast good. As I said, a good stopover.
Great hotel in a lovely old building that has heaps of history Fully renovated inside and the rooms are very well done and quite large also very clean peaceful location Staff very helpful and polite The restaurant was a real highlight the dinner was very lovely and sitting out looking at the building was very nice.
Last week I stayed in this hotel with a group of 46 people and was extremely impressed by the professionality and attention to detail. From the moment that we arrived, the staff went out of their way to make sure that we could relax and let THEM take care of the work. Dinner was especially noteworthy - we were travelling with a car club and the chef prepared little veggie cars in the salad for example. Lots of Little details that make the difference between "just another meal" and "something special". Clean and comfortable rooms, great service - I'd highly recommend this hotel
After a very enjoyable stay last year we returned to spend more time in the area. Although we were only there for two nights previously, not only were we remembered, we were greeted royally. Everything was just as good, if not better than before. The standard of decor is superior to most Mercures but the thing that for us makes a good hotel into a great one is the staff and this is certainly a great one. Everybody we came into contact with was polite, charming and helpful. Those we had more to do with went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, indeed it felt more as if we were staying with friends than at a chain hotel. As you may gather, we liked staying there and will return in future
