The furniture is dated but comfortable and we did not mind the small basic room since we only used it for sleeping. Great location. Friendly staff. Quiet room. Appreciated the free afternoon coffee, tea, chocolate in the dining area. We will stay here again if we return to Copenhagen.
This is a well-worn hotel with rooms in need of refurbishing, but I liked it anyway. The bathroom was quite up-to-date and the room was clean. As an old-style European hotel it has a lot of charm and the public areas were appealing. The clerk was most friendly and helpful in recommending an excellent, but expensive (but what isn't in Copenhagen?), seafood restaurant for lunch. The location was the best part as it was near Nyhavn and other central sites.
Visited Copenhagen on vacation. Great location, clean rooms wonderful staff. Best buy for the $
This hotel is in a great location. Very close to the metro and Nyhavn. Makes the city very accesible. Accommodations are a little tight, but it is very clean. Staff extremely friendly and courteous.
The hotel is very close to the metro stop and an easy ride from the airport. The staff are all nice and helpful and breakfast is great
The hotel situated near all the point of interest. The hotel room needs desperate update. The wood floor room makes bunch of noises as you walk. The wifi is not stable in the room and only work well in lobby. Had to call our credit card company free international number with the hotel phone for less than 5 min and got charged 200+ krone. The staff told us is free but when checkout the person told us not his problem and must pay and get out.
Initial 5 day reservation was made on auction site, but after booking saw a lower price here. Had planned to move hotels after the first few days, but decided to stay because of the great location close to the metro. For the 2nd part of our stay, booked a price 40% lower than offered in person and about 25$ less per night than the auction site. The room was small but adequate since we were out most of the time. Met our needs perfectly. Highly recommend including the breakfast! Delicious coffee!
The standard room was very small and everythnig was old. The bed was not very comfortable, carpet was old. There was not enough room to move around freely. No coffee maker in the room, telephone charges were too high even for local calls. I will not stay in that hotel again.
The hotel is a 5 min walk from the metro (once you figure out the route), close to the Harbor and city highlights, but tucked away on a street with little traffic. Perfect, the breakfasts are fantastic. The staff and ambiance are friendly and warm. Also unlike some hotels, the wifi actually works everytime.
When traveling abroad, we avoid the modern westernized hotels and look for those that reflect the local culture. This hotel fits that bill perfectly. The first night we saw no other Americans staying there, though that was not the case the night before a cruise sailing. The location is ideal for exploring Copenhagen's old city. Most sites are within a 10 minute walk, including Tivoli Gardens, Strøget shopping area, and Amalienborg Palace. Three blocks away is Nyhavn with its many outdoor restaurants. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean, furnished with older European style furniture. The staff is extremely helpful and the breakfast is excellent. The only downside is that there is barely enough room for eating when the hotel is full. We enjoyed the stay so much that we booked some relatives into this hotel for a later stay. It is perfect for enjoying a few days in Copenhagen before departing on a cruise.
The room size was very small and the furnishings were dated. There were some very good aspects, though: awesome location (next to Nyhavn Harbor and walking distance to downtown & Christiana). The free wireless service works amazingly well and the staff is incredibly kind and helpful.
This hotel is easy to reach by subway from the airport and is ideally located to explore the city by foot, bus or boat. The breakfast is very full of Danish specialties and will get anyone through to a late lunch. The room was small but comfortable. I would probably upgrade on my next visit. Staff was helpful with suggestions.
This was a great little hotel. Near everything and the breastfast was good. Rooms a little small but we were not in them much, out and about.Could get a little noisy.Over all a nice place to stay.
The hotel was friendly and clean we chose it because each room had it own bathroom, relative inexpensive and within walking distance to down-town. The location is better than we hoped for, one block from nye harbor, a ten minute walk from tivili and a few blocks from the palace. Breakfast was great. The guests were mostly Scandinavian, we were the only Americans we saw at breakfast. Overall a good experience. (The royal opera moved so the opera hotel is without the royal opera).
While not a luxury hotel, I had a good experience. It is very well located. Near CPH metro, Nyhavn and other attactions. Clean room and bathroom.
Great location in walking distance within most of the interesting places in Copenhagen. Very helpful staff. Clean and fully adequate room, although quite small and a bit worn down. Breakfast was very good. Overall a great deal.
We went to Copenhagen to go to the ballet and this hotel was right around the corner in a very convenient location for most things. The room was small as they often are in Europe, but very comfortable with excellent beds, quilts top and bottom, in the northern European style. It is an old hotel with a cosy wood panelled lobby. The food in Copenhagen is extraordinarily expensive if you're on an American dollar and in that light the breakfast is a good value.
My friend reserved rooms at Hotel Opera because it was centrally located and it was relatively cheap (for Copenhagen). The staff was friendly but the hotel is old. The carpets are worn. Thin walls so you can hear the person in the room next to you snoring. Not well insulated and the heat didn't work. I've been to Europe before so the quality of hotels in Europe do not surprise me. This is a typical European 3-star hotel, which is a step below a Motel 6 in the US. I couldn't stay any longer so I transferred to the First Hotel Vesterbro instead. That hotel is nicer, but about $200/night. Worth it though.
Very quiet location. Unfortunately there was no air conditioning and our room windows needed to be open. Our first night there, a large group of young men in an adjacent building had a loud party that went on for hours. We had little sleep that night. The staff was so gracious and helpful that meeting them more than made up for the sleepless night.
Very pleasant and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I forgot my power converter and they went out of their way to borrow one for me from a sister hotel. The breakfast buffet was very satisfying and nicely 'European' for an American traveler. The location was excellent for sight-seeing and we felt totally safe there. It's an older property which means that the rooms are small, but the staff is pretty honest about that if you call them for information. Everything was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend it.
