Hyatt Centric The Woodlands

4.0 out of 5.0

From top to bottom we were cheerfully greeted and made to feel welcome - doormen, concierge, desk staff and even the maids! And then - a great breakfast - such a nice staycation. We will be back!

Hyatt Centric is in a great location for couples looking for a weekend getaway, or families with children looking for lots of things to do. Right in middle of Woodlands Market Center, loads of shopping, restauarants, theater, park right in easy walking distance. Even so, it's expensive and not a great value. The rooms are average in terms of amenities, and I found the plethora of little pillows on the bed to be uncomfortable. There were no outlets next to the bed to plug any of your stuff into, although the desk has a 4 plug. There was no pen to fill out the room service restaurant, although I found the breakfast in the sit down Market Table to be of poor quality, and the service was slow despite fact I was one of only 5 people in whole place at 9 on a Friday morning. The final kick in the teeth was that Hyatt would not recognize the free breakfast amenity I paid for in the rate when booking through Orbitz, told me I had to take that up with Orbitz, so beware if you use any third party site to book. Oh, and they charged me $22 to park my car overnight, and left it sitting out in the rain. You are pretty much stuck with this valet charge because I didn't see any self-park options as I pulled up. An average hotel marketing itself as an upscale retreat that just doesn't deliver is my summary

Their was a power surge so no electricity and the alarm for the air conditioner fan on the roof was ringing non-stop. I would go back but wouldn't spend any extra money on upgrading to the suite. Room was nice but not worth it.

I had to go to The Woodlands area for a quick 2 day 1 night business trip. I decided to stay at the Hyatt Market Street based on recommendatios from business partners who urged me to stay near the waterway/market street area. I was not disappointed. The hotel is great but the staff is even better. Rooms are clean and quite cozy, the food in the restaurant is good and the location is unbeatable. I will definitely stay here again in future trips!

Enjoyed the stay at this wonderful hotel after an awesome concert at the Woodlands Pavillion. Great hotel with friendly staff! Highly recommend it.

This boutique hotel is a hidden gem in the Woodlands! I felt very pampered during my 2 night stay at this hotel. The location was perfect ... Great shopping, beautiful Christmas decorations as I gazed out my window, and a Starbucks right outside the front door of the hotel ! I would have given it 5 stars except for my very tiny room... I was there by myself, so it was OK, but it would have been a stretch if my husband had joined me on this trip. The staff was very pleasant and greeted you like you were coming back home! I will be staying here again soon!

I'm not a fan of hotels in the Woodlands, but recently visited relatives and was pleasantly surprised with the hotel and their staff. Firstly, Market Street is a very cute and quaint outdoor shopping area. It's like a little town with a nice night-life. We drove into the valet and the attendants were very pleasant and welcoming. The hotel lobby was small but beautifully decorated. Check in was super easy. The reception staff was very helpful. The room we stayed in, the King Suite was very nicely decorated and above all..immaculately clean. The furniture was very hip-modern, but not super dark like other modern hotels. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom, although simple with clean lines, felt luxurious. The water pressure was not great, but adequate. The shampoo, conditioner, and lotion they provided was not the best, but I typically bring my own personal care products...so this didn't bother me much. I'm not sure if the products were a result of Hyatt buying out the boutique hotel, but they would do well by upgrading to better product like the Aveda Rosemary Mint line. The second floor dining and bar was small and delightful. Our rate (which was really low at $154/night) included breakfast. The breakfast was really nice and flavorful. It was actually quit surprising quality for it being included in the room rate. Fresh, organic and locally grown options were awesome...I had the breakfast tacos and the pecan waffles...simply delicious! I can't say enough about the hotel staff. They were friendly and inviting. They seemed to have a real sense of pride in their hotel and they wanted their guests to have the best stay possible. Now that we have a very nice hotel at which to stay, I think we'll be visiting our relatives in the Woodlands more often! One last word, Hyatt recently bought out the hotel (formerly known as the Avia), but it still felt like a boutique hotel. I hope the hotel and their staff continue to operate as if they are a boutique because it was quite an enjoyable stay!

Wonderful hotel. Great location. Great pool area and bar. Overpriced.

I enjoyed this stay, clean, and fun. Thank you so much!

This was our first stay at the Avia Hotel, but will not be our last. The location was wonderful - the hotel is in the middle of great shops and restaurants and within walking distance of the Woodlands Mall and the large theater. The bed provided a great night's rest, in fact, we plan to purchase pillows used for our bed at home! The staff was friendly and made is clear they were available to help in any way possible.

First Visit to The Woodlands, Avia. Location is premium. Staff were all extremely professional and accomodating.
