Comfortable bed, responsive temperature control in the room, easy to access scooters in the area to get around downtown. I was initially hesitant to stay here because it's much farther from the Lost Lands shuttle stop compared to other hotels, but it's worth the longer walk/scooter ride. The brunch is good too if you wake up in time to try it.

Nice option outside of traditional hotel chains

This hotel is a refreshing break from the big hotel chains. The rooms are a nice size with updated bathrooms and amenities. We loved that the room was completely dark when sleeping and we couldn't hear anything outside of the room. The rooftop bar was a great way to end the night, and the front desk and bartenders were friendly and attentive. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is the room temperature wasn't manageable. We asked for the A/C to be adjusted down since are room was hovering at 76 degrees during the day and 73-74 degrees at night. It was too warm to sleep comfortably.

Overall this is a nice hotel. The downstairs lounge, upstairs rooftop bar, and public areas are handsome and fun. However there were a few things that would make me think twice about staying here again. First and foremost were the hidden fees factored into our stay that were not communicated to us ahead of time. I am looking at my invoice right now and the fees were 36% of my nightly room rate. Paying 36% more than I expected was a slap in the face when checking out. Then, there were several "new hotel" quirks we noticed that were not fully thought out or planned. The walls were quite thin and we could hear noises outside our room throughout our stay. We were staying on the 7th floor, and the rooftop restaurant/bar was right above us on the 8th. They had several private events while we stayed there, and when it was time for the staff to move the furniture, the scraping sounds were incredibly loud in our room and kept us awake for hours. There were also a few loud altercations in the hallway that we and other guests heard clearly. Other smaller complaints are that our A/C was broken the whole time we were there (in August) and the bathroom strangely just didn't have a bathroom fan, so it stayed steamy in the bathroom after showers. This was during the OSU vs Texas football game weekend, so granted it was a busy time and perhaps there were extenuating circumstances for some of these issues. But I will consider other locations when I visit Columbus next time.
