Extremely hard and lumpy bed. Sleep has been difficult to come by. Only saving grace is the staff is friendly and cordial. If the room wasn't paid for by work I wouldn't have stayed. The breakfast is good, but not great.
Spend a night at this place here to catch the plane next day. The quality is good the rooms big and clean. The service is very friendly and wants to offer a good support. Nice breakfast included in the room price.
The rooms were adequate size for us. There were 2 adults and a 12 year old. Even using the pull out couch was not a problem for us. We did get breakfast and take it back to the room each morning. We had no problems eating in bed. What's wrong with breakfast in bed anyway??!! LOL Everything was clean and updated. Staff was very nice and couldn't help us enough. We have stayed here twice already and when business takes us in and out of Columbus, we will use again. Hotel is easy to find and within 20 min. (major roadways) for almost everything you would need.
My wife and I often stay at Marriott hotels because we generally like the hotels (and the points are great). Unfortunately, our experience with TownPlace Suites is not great. I think we'll stick with Residence or Springhill in the future. This particular hotel needs some updating. One of my pet peeves is the height of shower heads. I'm 5'11" tall (about average for a guy) and the shower head in this bathroom came to my chin. Thus, I have to bow down to wash my hair. Even my wife (5'3") had to stoop slightly. They call their rooms "Suites," but they're really not. The rooms are simply a little larger to accommodate a sitting area. On the plus side, the service was great and the breakfast food equally fantastic for a free meal.
It's a nice older property. Service was very nice and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable and the mattress was good. It is an airport hotel, so you may hear some planes. It's decently close to some shopping and restaurants. Price was reasonable for the area.
The room layout was a little odd if you use the sofa bed. The sofa faces the regular bed and the TV is angled between them so when you open the sofa the end of the sofa bed almost touches the end of the regular bed. There's not much room to walk between them or to get by the TV. There is a large kitchen area with a full fridge, stove/oven, & dishwasher. It was fully stocked and they provided soap, dish towel, & paper towels. We didn't really use any of this since we didn't stay very long. It would have been nice to have a store of some sort nearby to buy food though. There were lots of restaurants in the general vicinity. Another odd thing about the room is that if you were utilizing the large kitchen, I'm not sure where you would eat. There was a desk and chair and a couch and coffee table (that were unusable to us since our children were using the sofa bed). The breakfast provided each day was nice - lots of choices and it was always being refilled and cleaned. They had make your own waffles, boiled eggs, sausages, cereals, breads to toast, yogurt, apples, bananas, & muffins. The room seemed too small for the size of the hotel with only 3 tables for 4 and a bar area with 4-6 more seats, but miraculously each day there was a table available. Maybe people took their food back to their rooms to eat on the nonexistent tables/chairs in the rooms? The coffee & hot chocolate provided in the lobby all day long was nice and we purchased take out seafood for dinner one night and brought it back and ate in the breakfast area. The outdoor pool looked fine, but we didn't try it since it seemed like it might be a little cold. Surprisingly the hotel had elevators which was nice with our children and luggage.
I originally booked a one bed room but changed it the morning of arrival to a two bedroom suite for an additionally $50, it was a painless process. We arrived about 3:30 PM and check in only took about five minutes. The young lady at the desk, I forgot her name, was very friendly and helpful, showing me where I could find everything. The suite was clean and roomy for five people. My son loved that he could have the temperature in his room to his liking, each space had its own thermostat. He loves it cold, I like to be warm. The beds were very comfortable and they use Paul Mitchell bath products. I was charged twice so I am waiting to see if both charges clear or if one falls off. I am unable to review the pool as it was closed due to the cold rainy weekend. The only suggestion I have is a better breakfast selection and to have someone monitoring it. There was the basic cereal, muffin, and oatmeal selection as well as boiled eggs and sausage. Scrambled eggs would have been better and another family took all of the sausage, a LOT of sausage, and it was replaced, it was only 9:00 am. We will stay here again but bring our own breakfast next time.
Great room for the money (2 bedroom, sofa bed, kitchen, 1 bathroom, 3 TVs). Cheaper than king with sofa bed at airport. Problem is shuttle not available at 5 as promised, but they paid for a cab. Shuttle doesn't run late so we'll have to take a cab back to hotel where we paid a fee to park (part of room rate). All in all, can't beat it. Shuttle hours need to be expanded. I can recommend.
The room I stayed in was essentially an apartment. It was fantastic. The two rooms were exactly that: two separate rooms, each with their own doors leading to the common area. There was a ktichen, fridge, decent living space, and nice sized bathroom. My only complaint was that the cabinet under the sink was pretty dirty and creepy looking, but that's very minor!! It would have also been great if the hotel gave lotion with the shampoo and conditioner it provided. The location also seemed pretty run down, but we were safe. Other than that, no complaints. Good stay!!
This suite is excellent for families. We had a suite with 2 bedrooms and queen size beds. There is a nice living room and a kitchen area. TVs in all rooms. Save money and fix your own meals . It's a little outside Columbus but near highways to get anywhere! Kids loved seeing the Jets flying down so low and yet you cannot hear them from your suite! Worth the money.
